Good morning Stacy! Should be getting the kids in the car but a quick check--you're working hard, girl, just wanted to give you some moral support!:goodvibes Ok, leaving now before something happens...:wave2:

Wow that was wayyyyyyyyy to close for comfort

Hi !! Have a wonderful day !!

Now I can go back to bed :cloud9: My work is done here :surfweb:

Congratulations Stacy! I was actually busy working today. I also got our air tickets for Korea today. I booked r/t on business class from Brussels to Seoul, and then we'll book the side trip to Tokyo separately in the cheapest, smallest, most uncomfortable seats we can find!

DVC just got the point chart for Tokyo Disneyland in 2008, so as soon as Jasmine's Dad can finalize his leave dates, we'll book there. Anyone have any input on which of the Disney hotels are better for families? I like the idea of staying inside DisneySea but that hotel doesn't have as many restaurants as the Ambassador.

Well I will post this, so I can click on the blog link and update the pirate: list.

Uh oh, watch out....Stacy's in double digits...;)

LOL, it was, wasn't it?? I actually refreshed before posting, and it was showing 96 or 97 so I didn't think I'd screw it up for you. Congrats!!

Enjoy your well earned rest, with happy pirate dreams. (I guess that would be Capt. Feathersword??)

:cheer2: I just booked my cruise last week!!!

Wow, congrats!! And I am amazed that you just booked your wedding now for Dec. Dh and I moved pretty quickly (relative to many at least) but I still had six mos to plan our wedding. But maybe I'd have been better off doing it the way you are!!

Glad to have you on board. What a wonderful way to celebrate, making it easy for you two to focus on each other.

No tips here, I'm a first-time cruiser too. Actually, my best tip is keep reading the boards and asking questions! :thumbsup2

We haven't played this game in awhile ......

1. What is your favorite special feature on a DVD? Bloopers
2. What would be the three main rules if you ran your own country? Be nice, be nice, be nice
3. Coke or Pepsi? Barq's
4. What villain from literature or history do you relate to the most? :confused3
5. Dogs or Cats and Why?
Dogs! They love to cuddle.

Korea would be amazing to visit.. I've always wanted to but DH won't.. :guilty: As for Tokyo.. I've never been so I have no advice..

Have a Super Safe, Wonderful Trip and Enjoy !!

Well, I sure am having trouble keeping up with you all.

Welcome helloemi! I cannot think of a better place for a wedding than onboard the Magic! Congrats! Like a previous poster said the best way to find tips is to read the DIS boards. This will be DCL cruise #13 for us and I am still learning new things from these boards. The best tip I would give you is to pack light. You would be surprised with how little you really need. I pack lighter every time we cruise and still come home with clothes I didn't need.:confused3 We just returned from the 9/29/07 Eastern. We have never done an excursion through DCL. It is very easy to take a taxi at any of the ports. We find it more convenient and less expensive. We like to come and go as we please.

For those who are interested here is what we did on our recent cruise...

St. Maarten...took a taxi to Orient Beach. There are plenty of taxis waiting to take you back to the ship when you are ready.

St. Thomas...took a taxi to Coral World and Coki beach. The taxi driver was very informative and gave us a little tour on the way there. He let us stop at an overlook of Saphire Beach to take pictures. It was so beautiful that we may go there this time. We liked our driver so we had him return for us at a prearranged time.

Castaway Cay...To me this is paradise! Have never done an excursion here and probably never will. All I want to do is relax in paradise. Swim, lay in a hammock and enjoy the view.

Would be happy to answer any questions. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Donna

Good morning everybody!

Welcome aboard, helloemi, and congratulations on your upcoming cruise and wedding! We're a fun bunch of people with a few veteran cruisers who can give you a lot of advice. The best advice? Relax and enjoy your first Disney Cruise. It probably won't be your last.

1. What is your favorite special feature on a DVD? Director's commentaries, "How They Made It" features, etc.
2. What would be the three main rules if you ran your own country? Enforce all of the laws fairly equally for all people, kindness and courtesy towards everyone, absolutely no smoking or other injurious behaviors!
3. Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi--without a doubt!
4. What villain from literature or history do you relate to the most? "Q" from Star Trek, The Next Generation, because he did things "just to see what would happen" or to prove that he was right.
5. Dogs or Cats and Why? Cats--they're independent, they're more fun when you have more than one (although the eleven kittens we had last December may have been a bit much!), they treat you the way you treat them.

I'm back in my office for the day. Why is it that every time I go to a meeting I come back with a whole lot more work to do? I was just assigned a new project which they wanted rolled out the first week of December. My first decision as the head of this project was...we'll do a test run in November, analyze at the end of December, and roll out the first week in January. NO, I am absolutely not willing to postpone my vacation for three weeks!!!! (Yes, they asked!). Gotta love working for the government--lots more responsibility, no more money!

Stacy: We are definitely "train people". Jim and I don't even own a car. It's saved us enough money, even with cab and train fares, that we can afford to do fun things like take cruises and go to WDW, since we also don't have to pay the outrageous insurance rates here. Of course, DS has a car, so if we really need to go somewhere that we can't get to any other way, he or DDIL will drive.

Well, I guess I'd better get to work so that I can start developing this next project.

Beth

:sad2: My friend, Nancy (she and DH Lyle are cruising with us) told me that two months from now the cruise will be over :sad2:
I need my :cool2: friends here to put that thought out of my head.

That is why you need to book another cruise onboard! That way you have memories and more future memories to look forward too. DCL keeps me sane. Cheaper than a shrink and a lot more fun! So I just look at it as a medical nesessity.:teeth: (yep, any excuse for a cruise will do:thumbsup2 )

I have a few "dress code" questions! About packing light, are shorts/tank tops/sun dresses fine for day time on the ship? My step mom was telling me that i would need to dress formal on a cruise ship at all times, but that seemed a bit strange to me. It is a vacation after all!
Also, to any other cruise brides or past DCL cruisers: We are going to Palo after our wedding, does this mean I can wear my wedding dress? :bride: It is formal after all!
Thanks for all the help!

We were originally going to have a big wedding in orlando, but i just couldnt get excited about it. We originally wanted a disney world wedding but it just wasnt in our budget. The great deals (599$:woohoo: ) made us decide to elope and celebrate later. I work better under pressure anyways!

Yep, I'm already getting excited about Tokyo Disney and we aren't going until next April!

I can't believe how this trip has grown...

Started out when I got half my $$ back on our Med cruise by switching to a Cat 12 GTY. The $2600 I saved, paid for this cruise when I rebooked onboard. It started out with just DD and me on a 1 week cruise , 2 nts prior at the Pop Century and DCL bus transfers. Next thing I knew I'd invited my DB and DSis and their families and we had 3 cabins on the ship, including a cat 3 for DD and I, and 2 cat 7s for the siblings. Since it didn't make sense to pay $490 for bus transfers I upgraded to an SUV limo for the same amt (well + tip). Then as the piece de le resistance I bought a DVC membership and we're staying at SSR before the cruise. I don't know if any of this would've happened if DCL hadn't lowered the price of their cat 12s on the Med cruise. :confused3

But that's one of the reasons I needed to start planning our Korea/Japan trip in April. I don't think there's anything else I can upgrade on the December trip!:rotfl: :rotfl:
