My suggestions:

The DIS meet on Embarkation Day

In front of the Mickey Statue on Formal Night - Trying to time it between the 1st and 2nd seatings, but without interfering with Golden Mickeys???

Pirate Night - 8pm? Any ideas where?

The Mickey Statue works for Pirate night. It is close to the restaurants so that late diners can quickly assemble and then get back to dinner. I'm not sure about Formal Night. I know the characters are out in that area for photos. We might have to check once on board to find out what the character schedule is. Phone tree is a good idea. We are up for a 10 pm touch base also. :thumbsup2

Busy day at work, but I couldn't resist logging in for a few minutes....

So what does everyone think about the 2009 and 2010 rumors? I've already done Alaska, and just can't get excited about it. I think we'll wait on that until after DCL has at least one season under their belt. But we could still do the Panama Canal next year.

And I think Hong Kong in 2010 sounds great! We are due to move back to the States in July 2010, so we'd just need to do the cruise after that. If we do Tokyo Disney and Disneyland Paris next year, and Hong Kong Disney in 2010 we'll have hit all the parks!

Those DVC points are definitely going to be coming in handy!

And did you know that DVC stay at Disney Paris (Or is it Euro Disney now???) includes theme park tickets? Yep! :)

I'm not really excited about Alaska either. We have walked on glaciers in Montana, seen lots of the same wildlife, live among the beautiful trees, lakes, rivers. I especially would not want to do it on the current Disney ships. It would take a LOT of changes to make it comfortable. Take a look at the Alaska ships, covered pool areas, covered areas for watching the beauty roll by and folks are still in jackets and windbreakers. It is CHILLY up there, think glaciers that never melt. I want to vacation where it is warm. ;) My sister, BIL and also our best friends have sailed the Alaska cruises and they LOVED it. We will see how my sis compares that to the Caribbean after this cruise! ;)

WHOOO HOOO!!! Now I might have a chance at a pirate if we get close!!! Now if I can get Stacy, Angie, Wendy, and brack to all work offsite I'll have a chance!!!! :rolleyes1

Angie is not working this week. :rolleyes1 Well, not at work working, but that bedroom floor downstairs is calling my name! :guilty:

Angie, just wishing you well on your undertakings...we sold (and bought--and moved) this summer, and it's SUCH a big deal these days--maybe it was better in the bad old days when you did the dishes and hid the laundry. ;-) We painted EVERYTHING, though the house was only 7 yrs old--different proposition, I know. Our challenge, really, was decluttering.

Anyway, good "home staging" and real estate vibes to you... :goodvibes:

Yes, we have been trying to declutter for several months. We have filled 3 20 yard dumpsters with junk that family/friends have left here. :sad2: We have 2 garages, a barn, a bedroom size storage room and a 12x20 shed, all of them were full of "stuff". It has been a challenge. We have 13.4 acres that is prime vineyard property, so we are hoping to really sell the land, not necesarily the house. But, the house has to be presentable to sell the land. Does that make sense?

Hi, all!

Just checking in this morning. I'm still home, but feeling much more human and will be back in my office in the morning.

We're booked in a Cat. 10. We don't spend much time in our room either, but the split bath is a real treat for us. This huge house has only one bathroom, it's downstairs (our "suite" is upstairs) and it serves all five of us. It's about the size of the bathroom in the Cat 11's and 12's. Therefore, our treat for ourselves is extra bathroom space:rotfl2:. I don't need a porthole or a verandah, there's lots of places to go outside and watch the world. But I do love having my own sink to get ready in the mornings. It's nice not to have someone banging on the door yelling "Your time's up in there! Get out!"

Photo ops--we're up for just about anything. I'm a person who also offers to take pictures for people. When noone else is available, Jim and I have evolved a system of taking pictures of each other in the same spot and photoshopping them together. I've actually gotten good enough at it that most people don't realize that it's not a "real" picture.

We're working on redoing our house, too. We moved in on Halloween last year, and are renting now but will be buying within three years. We've already agreed on a price so that anything we do to improve the place won't be added on to our price. We've redone that one bathroom--the bathtub had a whole that looked like someone dropped a bowling ball through it! We've redone our granddaughter's room because the paneling fell of the wall right after we moved in, and we discovered that there was no dry wall, just paneling nailed on the studs. Now she has drywall and lovely paint that she picked out herself--it's purple. Next project is ripping out the carpet in the living and dining rooms. It's just gross! Then refinishing the hardwood floors underneath, and a good coat of paint should finish those rooms. We're very familiar with Home Depot, and Lowe's, and the home improvement departments in WalMart seem to be our second home these days! After all this work, we deserve a cruise!

Jim desperately wants to go on an Alaskan cruise. I agree with MrsMork--I want to vacation where it's warm! I suspect I'll end up in Alaska sooner or later, though.

Pirates--still none for me! I figure I'll get one sooner or later!

Beth

It's great to be missed.

;)

- Offsite Bill (we are a little late in leaving so I snuck in a DIS. :) Could we be pirate: late??? ;))

Please don't make me go into Home Depot again. I'll just wait in the car. :sad2:

I would like to hear more about your travel plans in your motorhome. Please share.

Never Gonna Happen...

Hey, I only have 8 Pick on Wendy she's the pirate: hogger

:lmao:

So now I ask you... ya' think any one of us will get a surprise upgrade?? :wizard:

I think that I have a good chance of being upgraded from our Cat 12 GTY :thumbsup2 ......

...... maybe as much as a Cat 11! :woohoo:

But the real question is, what does the ruhbarb do for the delicious strawberries?? ;) This is a question DrHug has not yet been able to answer.:confused3

Makes the Srawberries not too sweet that they can't be eaten ? :confused3

Bill is playing Halo 3. So, I thought I'd say "Hi"

- Jennifer

My 34yo DS bought that last week and has been playing it almost nonstop ..... he says. :surfweb:

Although today he called to tell me he was boarding a plane for Cabo, Mexico for a week. Sammy Hagar is there at his restaurant so Brack is going to get me a picture and maybe an autograph. :thumbsup2

We had always booked 11's before, 12 this time. We spend no time in our room except to sleep and change clothes so we would rather cruise more often in an 11. And we are going 12 GTY from now on! :thumbsup2

Again great minds think alike! :hippie:

Our first cruise we booked a Cat 7 because we thought that was what you had to do when you cruised! :confused3 (this was before my DISDays). We found out that we also only slept (very little) and changed clothes clothes in our room. We ask the room steward if we could see the inside room across from us. It was very nice. :thumbsup2 So from then on we have booked Cat 11 rooms. Even this time we booked a Cat 11 until the great price drop for a Cat 12! (more money to spend in the shipboard shops :lmao: )

It is this kind of savings that allows us to cruise at least once a year.

If I want a verandah there's a free one on Deck 9 and Deck 10. They even make coffee for me on Deck 9. :coffee:
