Oh, on my compulsive checking for Palo spots...I got an availability yesterday and actually got through to the booking screen for the first time. The ONLY time available was a late-ish dinner on Pirate night (8:30). I booked it before I realized it was Pirate night, but will hold on to it for now as it seems to let me see "deeper" into the booking than previously, which feels like progress! Still no times available that I actually want, but at least I can click more!! :thumbsup2 Ok, so it doesn't take much to excite me...:rolleyes1

DH and I are officially "not doing" Palo, so I think I'm all set now. Just have to make sure I get to the ship before it takes off and we're good. It's kind of a relief... I didn't want to stress about the timing of getting there.

As is stands, I had another dream.....

In this one, we were on the ship, walking around, when I suddenly realized it was 5pm. Then I realized that meant I had completely missed the DIS meet and I was trying to figure out how it had gotten so late because we had missed lunch too. :confused3 So I went to the nearest elevator to go to Deck 10 to see if anyone was still around. When I got in, the buttons for floors went from 1-3 and then skipped to 16-22. :confused3 So I hit the 16, and when I got out of the elevator and looked around, I saw the ship across the port from me. We weren't even on the ship anymore!

So weird. I ate some vanilla wafers before I went to bed.

Brack I know you like XM radio and you like country music. Tell me about country music on XM.

XM has several country stations ranging from modern to the older standards. You will probably find something that you will really like. XM is a great way to listen to "Ad Free" radio and you can listen to the same station on the east coast all the way to the west coast.

Actually it is my DW who likes country music. I am an old hippie :hippie: and listen mainly to Deep Tracks (album rock) or one of the other Rock & Roll stations. At work I play Channel 113 which is one of their Classical stations (Bach, Beethoven, etc). If I stay late at the office it goes to Rock & Roll though. :thumbsup2

Ok, I know this gets asked over and over on the main board, but what do you think of our timing?

I really wanted dd to get to go to Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique before we cruise, so I've booked her for first-available on Saturday morning, which is 9:10 am. We're just doign the "coach" package, and when we did it last year I think it only took 30-40 minutes start to finish...So, we'll be leaving DTD around 10 am, for the drive to the port. When should that put us there, and is that a good time to arrive? (I'm thinking it'll probably be close to 11:30...) Especially given that we really want to book Palo. Dh will drop us and the luggage then return the rental car while I queue up and check in.

We could probably do BBB the previous day, but we haven't got anything special planned and she really needs to be able to, you know, get worshipped :worship: princess: before the pixie dust pixiedust: wears off...

I know people have said they've done BBB the morning before the cruise, so I think you'll be fine. If you do decide to do it that way, above all, just roll with it. If they take a little longer and you don't get to the port until 12pm, be prepared not to fret. Don't let your vacation start on a stressful note!

The other thing with Palo reservations is that it seems that you can get wait listed and still get in. We actually did this once. They called the day before and said they'd had an opening become available and asked if we wanted it. So we went.

So what's your preferred arrival time?

Two days before but they will not let me sleep in my car and DW would be really mad at me too.

So I settle for when the DCL transport gets me there or if I drive as soon as they will let me in which is I believe between 9 - 10 AM. :confused3

I agree with Julie though ...... do not fret about whatever you do. You're on vacation.!

I don't know which of these is more appropriate ..... :lmao:

Brack, thanks for the XM info.

Angie, now that I know where to find you in the picture, I have gone thru pages and pages and can't find the picture.

Jennifer, Hope you are having fun. I wish I could be there too. (except for being in the car with 3 kids, last car trip our son went with us, he complained because his sister's hair was on his side of the car). Waiting for your return to hear about your trip.

Cruise, hope you are all right with the fires, etc in SoCal.

Taking my migraine home to bed now. See you all in the morning.

You poor thing! Disney Dreams are NOT supposed to be like that! :sad2:

Hi Judy,

We're fine here. We're right in West LA, so fire would have to come through way too much concrete to get to us. But I do feel bad for everyone losing so much right now. :sad2: And we do have friends both north and south of here that have to keep an eye on things. It's always humbling to think that, even with all the technology we have, nature will fight and fight until it can win.

Sorry to hear about your migraine. Hope you feel better soon.

:lmao: :lmao: There's a country music video by Teri Clark that has a woman with "Disney Dreams" about Captain Jack. Now those are the type of Disney Dreams to have. ;) The funniest part, by far though, is when she wakes up from the dream at the end. :lmao:

It apparently isn't actually Johnny Depp, but he looks the closest that I've ever seen. If you'd like to check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESMIQLvKZ7A

I know many people do it each cruise, each week :scared: but I could not wait until the day of the cruise to fly in. We're going two days ahead only because I can not go any sooner at all. :confused3

Can't go sooner. Dh has just that many days, can't leave work early Friday, plus I need someone to watch the kids and the animals. So first thing that morning is what I have to do. I am going to be optimistic. I have to be.

Like I said people do it every week and most are OK. I'm sure you'll be fine.

As for me I would be so nervous until I was actually onboard. :confused3

I am going to try and not thing about it. Esp. when we get in on time, get our rental car, and then go NUTS while DH spends an unusually long time in Target or whatever store we go to for some drinks for the ship!!

I am curious, how many of the dis'ers are linking dining??

I am checking the DCL.com obsessively and still no reservations for brunch available.

I thought once they were gone online, they were gone. I guess if someone cancels, they pop up?

Did you ever get your answer about a Menorah?

It's my understanding that more will be released, maybe at 45 days (which isn't too far off), maybe at 30, but it's not a given...:confused3 I've been told we should have no trouble getting them once we're on board, but for me, I'd like to have as much done as possible before we leave. Also, I guess cancellations are possible--that's how I got dd into CRT at WDW, 20 calls and on the 21st...though with a fully pre-paid group at this point, I expect it's less of a factor.
