Our 15 min of TV fame was a Saturn car commercial back in the mid 90's. We had purchased our second, DD had one and DS had one. They came to our house and filmed us with the 3 cars, interviewed us. They then took the sound bites and photos to make several commercials that ran over a year period. It was very fun to see ourselves on TV and DGS was very excited when his bus driver told him she saw him on TV. It was only shown locally in the Portland area.

That's so funny as we had neighbors that owned nothing but Saturns for years and they too had been put into some Saturn commercials. Very small world.

So did I see somewhere that people were wanting to link up dinings?? I don't know, me personally, I would rather eat with people that I "know" from here than strangers, but at the same time I can see pros and cons of each.

Okay. . .They get people liquored up and have them bid on art. I'd be curious how many people are scratching their heads when they get home and actually "see" what they purchased. I had read on another thread on this subject that, they do take the art back if you are having "buyers remorse" or there is a problem with it when it is delivered to your home. Also, some people had their art appraised and it was pretty close to what they paid. Usually, they paid a little more that it was worth. But, you would hope over time the art would appreciate in value. So, that is always good to know.

Yes.. They are good about Buyers Remorse.. or so I have heard.. I'm still too chicken to do a Blind Bid..

We purchased 2 small unframed pictures of Beach House Themed and we got a Free BIG print of a Beautiful woman, something we wouldn't of bought on our own.. but for Free.. OK... and I have Yet to have them framed.. But they were meant to go into our Florida home and it wasn't fully built yet when we purchased the paintings.. They are now sitting in my closet of the Florida house.. so I'm getting closer to getting them framed

The boards are way too fast and fun today, nobody's really working on Friday afternoon I guess...but I gotta get something done!! (Also following a bunch of new posts on that food thread, and am NOT motivated to make the Friday night pizza...not unless someone wants to come and sprinkle it with freshly chopped herbs and sit in in an artful puddle of colourful coulis... )

I have to tell you, I am looking forward to talking with you all...curious about your accents...Texas, Arkansas, "Joisey"...fun! I noticed someone said (typed!) "pocketbook" the other day; I had a college friend from NY who said "pocketbook"...love all those different ways to say the same thing.

The last time dh and I went to an auction we ended up with...oh, reiki treatments, a huge golf umbrella (we don't golf...), oh, a weekend in an RV, that was good, a fairly ugly landscape print...charity auction, we got to feel good about spending on all that stuff we didn't need!! And that was without free booze. I think coming and NOT registering sounds muuuuch safer!

I love Gift auctions and I think I still have a Free Reiki Treatment I never used.. DH's Uncle.. is the Best he wins like everything he puts in for.. Then gives Most of his stuff away

That is another Reason while DH & I don't drink very much.. We are on a Ship for a week and sitting at the same table every night with the same people... Better safe then sorry

But Yes... I have a bunch od Dis'ers on the list for a Late Night dining Table... so I am guess I would need to Link all our Reservations together.. correct? Anyone? Or can we tell them when we get there we awant a Table big enough for all of us? I think he only have 8 people anyway.. I was hoping for a HUGE Dis table so we could dicuss our Daily meet ups for the next day.. But.. I understand we can't do EVERYTHING together

We had 4 Nissans at one time and only 2 drivers in our household.. Neighbors thought I worked for Nissan.. But I was able to get the some Great deals on their New Nissans.. Sent them to the guy we bought all ours from..

Nissan Loved us

Once we went to the dealership and the Salesman/Friend of family that we went to for all our others.. Said to us.. Umm.. you're too early we don't have any New Nissans for you yet.. Can you hold out for a month?

I said.. umm, I'm just here for an oil change

It will be our 2nd Disney cruise and we're so excited! We splurged on a Cat 6 for the veranda - don't have a stateroom assigned yet, just GTY.

We are Mom DH DS(16) DS(13) We live in FL and go to WDW quite often - we LOVE pin trading!

I'm going to look over the posts and try to find some other teens - it will be our first time trying the teen events in the Stack.

Yea.. DH Loves his Toys..

Nissan Pathfinder
Nissan Maxima (mine)
Nissan 350 Z Convertable (DH)
Nissan Fronteer (DH for work)

But now... Sadly... the Z is gone.. Traded it in and went to Chevy.. Traded in the Z and got a Chevy HHR (left in FL) & a Chevy Colbalt for DS.. Came home with No payments and a Check for the difference

Oh and the Pathfinder was sold to one of DH's employees and we still have Visitor rights..

Good morning, all! I'm in my office and I've already solved the early problems. I have just a few minutes tocatch up here before the next crisis will hit my desk.

Welcome, Joisey Mom! Where are you from in "Joisey"? There are already at least two other Jersey girls here--pfishgirl from Ocean County and me from Long Branch.

We're a fun group, and can't wait for this cruise! Somebody described me as "effervescent" the other day. Unfortunately, that was right in the middle of a very serious business meeting, and I really wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary, just chatting with the people on either side of me!

OK, to recap our interests: Jim and I are definitely in for shuffleboard (not very good at it, but like to play), definitely out for cigars and cognac (can't be around the smoke), in for photo shoots and willing to take some of those pictures, and in for all kinds other fun stuff.

Well, the next crisis has landed on my desk, so I'm off to save the city yet again!

IT IS FRIDAY! I just finished IMing with Bill. He was actually preparing for a meeting. Work on a Friday?!?!?!?!?! Then, he gets to come home. Yea!!!! Bill is going to pick up dinner on his way home. So, I don't dirty the kitchen before our trip. My basil plant is actually coming back to life. So, I made our Friday pizza on Tuesday.
