We try to avoid Newark at all costs because of the delays. It's a tough choice - Newark has the rep of long delays and Philly has the rep of losing your luggage! Atlantic City is a good alternative sometimes, but Spirit Air nickels and dimes you for everything now (i.e. luggage).

When flying we always add an extra day at the beginning of our vacation in case something happens. Last month we spent a night off property. It allows us to shake off any problems that came up and start fresh the next morning.

The adding day before and after is a GREAT idea. Our flight got cancelled in June going out of White Plains..So we called DVC from the airport and added a day since we bascially lost a day with the flight being cancelled and all.>...!!.>

A good idea to get to MCO early to avoid missing the boat (ship).

I might leave Wedensday before the cruise.

I think we are going to go down the Sat. before and stay at WDW at SSR for the week before.........

I know in the past year or two our BBC shows have become popular in USA, Including American Idol (pop idol/X-factor) Extras, Doctor Who Torchwood,

What is Who Torchwood????Sounds interesting!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: Thank you! I know 800 isn't much for you thousand-some post people, but I strive to be like you!!!

800 is HUGE.....Your on your way to 1,000..........You'll be there in no time with this group..............

Crash,
Glad you enjoyed my Star Wars pictures. When you get home I expect to see some of yours inJan...........

If you haven't already, talk to your travel agent. And see if there are any travel school programs in your area. You could also talk to some agency owners (cold call) and ask them the best ways to break in. We had cold calls alot. Have you researched the travel industry overall on-line yet? If not then do that to get a feel for the industry as a whole (current pay ranges, volatility). I'm sorry I'm not much help! I actually e-mailed some Disney only agencies about 6 months ago to see about getting in part-time from home (side job) but I got no responses.

Thanks for the info. Abby... I am going to look into it...

It seems like it is hard to get into this field....???????!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last cruise we didn't arrive until midnight but we made it! This cruise we are hoping to arrive earlier than midnight!!I'll probably have a load of questions for you all closer to cruise time about staying on-site the night before. Because if we do get in early Friday I want to give my kids a taste of the parks. Well, unless that would be cruel since they want to go so badly!

Oh that would be fun to go to the parks on Friday. As it gets closer if you decide to do that. Let me know. I believe I could get you a discount if you wanted to stay at SSR in WDW............

Ask away.....we are here to help you out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doctor Who is a Science Fiction show in the UK which has been running on and off since the 1960's I think. It is basically about a time travelling guy (The Doctor) and the various sidekicks he has and enemies he meets - most notoriously the Darleks (catch phrase "EX-TERM-IN-ATE) said in very robotic voice!

Here is the Wikipedia Entry for Doctor Who

Torchwood is a very recent spin off show starring John Barrowman (Scottish \ American Actor who has been in a lot of West End Broadway shows as well as TV) he heads up a team based in Cardiff Wales whose job it is to monitor alien activity on earth.

Here is the Wikipedia entry for Torchwood

I have never been a Doctor Who fan but as i have a ridiculous crush on John Barrowman I watched a few episodes of Torchwood and got hooked on that.

I think if you go to school for it (my schooling was 4 months long Mon-Fri just like a regular work day) then you can get in much easier. The school I went to had tons of job leads. But you do have to become affiliated with an agency before you can take the Disney course. Probably the easiest thing to do would be to talk to agencies near you and see what they suggest as far as getting in to the field. They can steer you in the right direction. If travel schooling is in your future then my only suggestion is do not take your time going through a 2 or 4 year program. Stick with intensive travel training only. It looks like there may be a school near you called Worldtek Travel School.

HTH!

Andrew-

COULD IT BE??? You got post #700 and didn't notice? How many days are we taking to get 100 posts now? It seems like Ed just got it a few days ago. Boy oh boy I feel really sorry for any newbies down the road who want to try to catch up with this thread from the start. :rotfl:

We expect as much from you here. :rotfl: Way to go!

Thanks, Doctor Who started in 1963, in fact on the day of the shooting of Kennedy, in USA, I grew up with it and it was my favorite show, it has had ten Doctors in the TV series, and it had a break for a few years, but now is one of the top family programmes in the UK, and the 'top' programme on Christmas night at peak time on the BBC.

All the kids want DW toys and they sell out quickly in the shops.

The person who stopped it for a few years, now works for the BBC's competitor ITV, in the UK.

Thanks re 3,000

K...

Caitlinsdad.... Lighten up... there are no rules limiting the sharing of good cheer through pleasant pictures - nor in engaging in a little lite hearted whimsy. Laugh a little - relax - and share the chuckles with others and soon you may find what comes around goes around.

Remember.... lighten up. Tis the season for all men and women of good will to share a little good cheer!, eh?

Crash,

I have no problem with good clean fun, but there is NO reason to see the same pictures over and over and over again. It makes reading a thread impossible. That is the problem with the repro thread. It is very hard for people to read or keep up.

Now Don't go putting words into my mouth,

As I don't know you and you don't know me. don't jump to fast concussions.

I didn't say it was a Rule. I made a simple request we try to limit posting the same pictures over and over again. When someone posts a picture it is great. I love good nature fun.

But much like group email, people in many cases hit the reply all when a simple reply will do.

It is email courtesy to not continue posting the same thing over and over.

Now people will continue to do as they please, and that is fine. All I did was make a simple request. Now here is another to you. lighten up. yourself.

Sounds like it is a really popular show... I wish we could see it here. It sounds very interesting to me.......

What kind of toys do they have that are so popular? Or does it just not matter what the toy is just that it is based on the show??!!!?
