08/08/07 Well, Olbia Monkey's Uncle! We're cruisin' on the 10nt Med Cruise!

In doing research on the chocolate museum in Barcelona, I went to their web site and discovered admission is free the first Monday of the month. This works out great for us because we are on the 8/8/07 cruise and will be in Barcelona the first Monday of August.

That sounds like fun! Too bad we won't be there until Tuesday.

Ditto on the thanks for the name change. I am in heavy planning mode for Barcelona right now and it is overwhelming. There is so much to do there and we only have 4 days there. We are getting very excited about this trip.

We will be in Barcelona 3 days at the Hilton Diagonal Mar. The Hop on Hop bus stops across from our hotel so I'll go on line and get 2-day tickets for that.One day we plan to take the train to Montserrat.We decided to do this on our own, cause I read that the tours don't always stay to hear the boys choir.The boards really gave me alot of help how to do that.

I really hope we can book the Chocolate Museum through DCL for Embarkation Day. The museum's website says you have to be a part of a group to do the choc workshops.

Other things we plan to do in Barcelona :

Las Ramblas
Gaudi...Sagrada Familia, Casa Batlio, Magical Fountains one evening,
maybe the Spanish Village, and I believe the Gothic Quarter is included
in the Choc Museum Tour.

I want to eat tapas, my Grandson wants to eat at the Hard Rock

And since our hotel is on the beach, I'm sure we'll do that one afternoon.
But, we'll just take one day at a time. It's going to be hot, and I don't want to wear us out before we even get on the cruise !

I think we'll skip the stuff we can do back home, like the aquarium and the zoo. It's alot to think about, but like I always say...

Planning is half the fun !!!!

I think it would be a good idea to have Dis name, actual name, name of people in your group, ages of children, early or late dinner, and stateroom number if you have it. It might also be fun to list the date of arrival and hotel if you are staying in Barcelona before or after.

Just thoughts and I am open for any and all suggestions.

I too will be up at 3:00 am trying to get what we want to do. I am a second shifter so that is around the time that I am usually getting ready for bed anyways . Here is our info for you to update. We are a catagory 10 in stateroom 2629 and have late seating. We are coming into Barcelona early morning on August 7th and staying at the Hotel Antenea Mar. I am Keli (26), my husband is Marek (Mark 25) and our good friend Alysouns (59). Don't tell her I told everyone her age. She will be 60 in October so we are celebrating.

Thanks for doing this, Donna -- our info is correct. My real name is Julie, and my daughters are Elizabeth (15), Katherine (12), and Meredith (10). We are arriving in Barcelona early on August 6, and recently switched our hotel from Hispanos 7 Suiza to Hotel Continental Palacete (Verseilles suite), because it is more centrally located. Our Magic room number is 2606 (cat. 9), and we have late seating. We are doing all excursions on our own, so I won't be competing with anyone for excursion reservations on May 10! After the cruise, we are going to Paris and then to DLP.

I am interested in doing Palo brunch, and will reserve on my own unless someone wants to go in with me (since I am with three children, I don't have another adult to go with).

For those of you that have late seating...why did you choose this seating ? We have late,also, but not by choice.We've always had early seating just because that's when we eat at home. We're on the waitlist for early, but maybe we should keep what we have ??? Any thoughts on this?

Also, was curious how many of you ( like us ) haven't been assigned a cabin yet ?
