I am officially finished with my "summer job". I have a little over a month off before school starts up again. I sure do miss being in the classroom...

BUT 21 hours until we leave for AKL. I am so excited. Being part of this board has definately added to the excitement.

Can't wait to MEET you all on Deck 10 (or 9). See you soon.

OH - one of my summer reading students asked his dad if my "end-of-summer-reading" gift could be sunglasses for my vacation! How cute.

Hope you have a great time at the AKL, we have stayed there many times and Boma is our fav in all of the WDW. Try it, it is different but that is what we like about it. Hope your travels are safe.

Ok all....for those of you that care....we just got a call from our friend in Orlando and we are unable to stay with them now. Luckily I was able to get my reservation back at the Radisson at the Port. Nothing like a little last minute stress to keep me going.

Flying out in 12 hours. See ya'll soon. We'll be by the pool at the hotel waiting for ya.

Packed? Not yet, but thanks for asking! The power went out for hours due to storms, who had time for that??

P.S. My son asked me to add this one... he's trying to download games to Daddy's laptop for the trip -- he plays while I get dressed for dinner. Everybody wins!

Well - it's 2:30am and I guess I finished packing. It's all the little things that keeps me up - like getting the recycling ready for next week, looking for my Disney rewards card that I thought I put with all my other documents! I found it on another pile! Emptying out my bag with unnessesary stuff & filling it with necessary stuff. So it looks like I will get to sleep for about an hour and a half before I have to get up! We're supposed to head out to Newark at 5am.
Iceman arrived safely in Orlando tonight. Safe landings to everyone - see you all on Saturday. My DH is bringing his laptop - we'll see if we can use it before the cruise...to keep you posted and see that everyone got their packing done!
Looks like the usual 3pm showers every day in Orlando - I have my ponchos packed! I better get to bed! 4am will get here very quickly!!!

You bet!!! I'll be the one sleeping by the pool. Boy, sure could use some sweet tea right about now...caffeine and sugar...woo hoo. It's 3:30am and I'm suppose to get up at 4am to get ready to go to the airport. Ummmm, don't think that sleep is going to happen. I'll make sure to take as many naps as possible, so I'll be rested for all our fun and adventures. Though I'm exhausted, I'm so very excited...not just about the cruise, but about meeting everyone. Now, if I could just get all of our pieces of luggage to be under 50 pounds.......

We are eating dinner TONIGHT at Boma. We love it. We had to repack due to the 50 pound limit. Now we have 3 bags; 1 very small, 1 small and one medium.

if your flying into the orlando airport. i suggest that you go to the mouse surpluss store. it has a bunch of awesome (and cheap) stuff from disney world to buy and look at


we went there yesterday and it has from a monorail to wilderness lodge furniture to pal mickey(15 $$ i suggest you buy!!) to clothes and even the captains uniform from the disney cruise. everything you can possibly imagine!

As far as packing, I have our clothes in different "piles" - just need to put them in suitcases. Very worried about space in the cabin so I am trying to travel light (4 med suitcases). My DH thinks some of the items can be removed (said my small suitcase resembles an isle at Walgreens).

Oh....weather update..the local weather men are still saying the tropical storm is going to head out to sea and not impact any land.

Beth, We're still here. Leaving at 5:30 AM (yikes) on Friday. I have not put a dent into our packing. We too lost power last night due to the storms but at least it broke that ungodly heat.
I have to finish tonight so then I can concentrate on all the small things. I also have a Walgreen's suitcase like you. I keep saying I'm going to take some clothes out, but I know I won't. So I'll have a ton of suitcases, it's OK.
Glad to hear about the storm, hope it stays out to sea. Our flight is from Philly to Charlotte and then to Orlando.
I'll see you guys real soon, can't wait. Safe trip to all that are left.

I am a Jersey Shore girl...born and raised outside of Atlantic City...

I am slowly making my way through the ironing....all though I did have the dress shirts done at the cleaners.

Count me in as another one still here - won't be leaving until Friday morning, either. I know better than to gripe about what DW packs. I figure if they allow her to put it on the plan and on the ship, what she brought was "just right."

Besides, if there's no room to carry "stuff" home, then we won't have to spend money on said "stuff".

I had the same experience 2 days ago....I am like...NO NO NO...

thankfully its just my sinuses...they were very blocked...all better now...
