Down here in NC school gets out this year May 24. Of course they started August 5th....(yuck)

Thankfully this is the last year for that, next year a new law goes into effect and school will start and end later.

I grew up in NJ and I never started school till after Labor day.

Same here in Illinois too. This year my son will have his last day of school on June 10th and will start school again on August 22nd. That makes the cheaper May cruises and August cruises not an option for us I wish they were but for now we will still be cruising in the summer months. Oh well as long as I am cruising that is OK for me

I'm almost ready to book this one, so count me in too! I'll most likely be cruising solo. I'll be 29 by then. I'm a teacher so I'll be celebrating summer! I haven't cruised as of yet, but I have a Carnival cruise booked for this summer. This will be my first Disney cruise. I'm super excited!

Hey, everyone....had to change from the June double dip to this great date due to a work conflict but I am so glad to join everyone
I am a single mom and when things get closer will be looking for company at Palos
I have a DD who will be 16 on the cruise and twin DS who will be 12

Thanks to everyone who has a count down clock...it will be great when we get under one year

I'm Alyssa and have a huge group going. iggbees is my sister. We are both happy that our little group is growing. All the people in my signature are going. We are going to have more soon, my family from california, aunt, uncle and my cuz (going to be 13) , and my sister boyfriend's parents. We are all excited and cant wait to go!

Yes bethipooh, tell us what would be good places on the boat when you come back.

Nice to meet my future neighbor on this cruise!! DH and I moved to NC from NYC 10 yrs ago. We lived in Manhattan but had friends on the Island. Spent some summers in the Hamptons. Look forward to meeting you next yr!!! Love Hilton Head, spent a lot of summer vacations there. This yr going to Mexico in less than a month. After we come back from there I'll be on this board a lot looking forward to next yrs vacation!!!

Hi all,

Well we are back to reality after our 4 day wonder cruise and 5 days at WDW. It was so fantastic!! Our first time with a verandah room, so as soon as we got home, we changed from deck 2 to deck 6 w/verandah for next summers cruise.

Tried to hold a DIS meet, but mother nature had other ideas. It POURED about 10 minutes into the sail away party. Thankfully that was the only rain the entire cruise. We had 2 unexpected stops in Freeport with medical emergencies, one after CC and one during our day at sea. Have no details on what happened.


Our group of 12 is still a group of 12. Trying to convince DD and her boyfriend to come with us as well.

I just found out I'm being offered a teaching contract for next school year. So I will have a full time salary and benefits, instead of per diem substitute teacher pay. Now it looks like I really will be joining you on the ship since I will be making a salary that will allow mw to pay for it!

We are now in cabin 6542. We wanted a different view, our other 2 cruises the cabins have been on the left/port side of the ship. Hopefully now we will have a different view of CC.

My wife and two kids are going on the 7/22/06 Costa Maya cruise. It will be our second Disney Cruise. Did the 4 day cruise in Sept. 2005 that was altered a bit by Hurricaine Frances and we caught the fever. We will be on Deck 8 (8030) and our kids will be 6 and 3 years old. First time posting...what a great forum.

Welcome HeelMD (so....are you a podiatrist?) Deck 8 is great...our first cruise we were on that deck...right next to the big Roy Disney suite. Now we go lower, we don't spend much time in the room so we opted to save $$ or try to upgrade at the port the day of the cruise.

I'm an OB (the "Heel" is from my beloved University of North Carolina Tarheels). We were on Deck 8 last fall for the four-day cruise and loved it.
