07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

So sorry...big difference! :teeth:
You must be from NC or went to school there then? (I'm trying to figure out the HeelMD or is that your last name?)
Since they don't allow very pregnant women to cruise, you don't have to be worried about being called in by the ship's doctor on an emergency while on vacation! :earseek:

Heel is from TarHeel. (Both my wife and I went to school there)
MD for my work. (Kinda corny but my wife made it up)

We currently live in Charlotte, NC. The day we got off the cruise last September, we knew we wanted to do another one, but wanted to wait until our youngest was three so he could enjoy more activities.

first off, welcome aboard heelmd! :wave2:

this list is growing slowly, but it's growing and that's the good thing!

my sister has started making signs for our door, even though it's still over a year away! haha. :rotfl:

secondly, question for everyone: what are you looking forward to the most on this cruise? and why did you pick this one as opposed to one that stops at more ports?

Mine was mainly a time issue. We had only two possible weeks to do it. In terms of ports, we kind of feel that anywhere in the Caribbean is good and there is much fun to be had anywhere. I'm surprising my family with the Roy Disney suite and that was one of the few weeks that it wasn't already booked.

The thing that I am most looking forward to is the same as last time...watching my kids with a permanent smile on their face. Last September was the first cruise for all of us on any cruise line and I found myself just watching my kids and enjoying seeing the stars in their eyes. I'm also looking forward to seeing Castaway Cay which was closed on our first cruise because of the hurricaine.

Everyone here is so friendly. I hope to meet some of you on the cruise. :)

I am most looking forward to going to Castaway Cay twice. The first time we cruised on the DCL in 2001, our route was diverted because of a hurricane and we got to go to Castaway Cay twice. The weather was beautiful both days! When we went last year, we were not so lucky. It was the day we were looking forward to the most and it rained for most of it. We are hoping that we will have better luck this time around!

sounds great so far!

we had such great weather on our day at cc as well on our first cruise. i'm really hoping that it'll be the same for both cc days on this trip!

i'm kind of frightened about costa maya, i looked at some pictures online that someone posted and i'm not so sure about the port town, it looks kind of boring. i think we're going to try to go on the ruins excursion that day. i've heard it's really good.

we mainly chose this cruise because it's my sister's graduation gift and she loved cc. she was so excited to find that there was going to be a cruise that went there twice.

:flower:

welcome HeelMD, we live here in Goldsboro, NC.

One of the couples who are going with us was on one of the cruises last year diverted to Costa Maya, and they loved it there. The only drawback to Costa Maya is that if you visit there, you can not donate blood for a year after your visit.(not sure if that has changed recently or not)

I am looking forward to the different ports(only have been to Nassau) and the 2 stops at CC. That was the biggest draw to this cruise, we have been to Key West before, but we adore CC. 2 stops at CC sounds heavenly. PLUS being on the Magic for the first time ever.
Castaway here we come!!

Just thought I would add this. It was taken at CC on our recent 4 day Wonder cruise..Is everyone ready to go now????

Our cruise was supposed to be a 4 day Bahamas but was diverted to Costa Maya in Sept. 05. We enjoyed Costa Maya but had very little time. We were only in port about six hours so you couldn't really do the excursions, just go around town. There is a layer of tourist traps at the ports that you just have to push through. We spent a lot of time looking at the non-tourist stuff and talking with some locals. I thought it was really nice and I'm sure it will be better with excursions this time.

Hey everyone,

HeelMd has the Walt Suite for the cruise!!! Think we should hold the DIS meet there?? Or at least maybe ask for a tour??

Sorry HeelMD, couldn't help myself..had to share with everyone

Bethipooh,

Just put on the other thread that maybe we should have a get-together in the suite with all the posters. Would be nice to put some faces with the names.

i hope I didn't put you on the spot... I think it is cool, one of our Diser's has the suite for the cruise. Its very nice of you to offer that.

DH wants to know if he can bring the camera..lol

thanks heelmd for the offer...that's awsome for one of disers having the suite of all suites.

We just got more people to our party...three people which will be my aunt, uncle, and my cuz. yeah up to 12.

Well if you're offering, I guess I could be tempted to drop by and take a peak, er...I mean say hello! Seriously that would be very generous of you and I'm sure it would be much appreciated by all.

That is a great photo!!! We are in the middle of a heat wave here...heat indexes above 101 degrees and also smack dab in the middle of a move to our new house one hour away. I can't believe we have to move in this awful heat:( The only thing getting me through is my trip to Disneyworld on July 30th and our cruise July 22, 2006!! Can we cruise yet??

It's hot here in NC too.....

I keep looking at the pics and wishing it was 2006.....

the water looks great...i could just dive in.

That water looks great bethipooh! Wish I was there right now! It's 92degrees here in Jersey! I just added my California brother-in-law, sister-in-law & niece to our reservation yesterday! So we're up to 11 - they're down the hall from us on deck 6. I think my DD is in charge of the cruise roster. :3dglasses (jazzstar87) I've been trying to get Disneyland info since we'll be there in 18 days!! Hard to believe! We've only been out of school a week!

Hi Beth,

I was born and raised in NJ...small world. Its hot down here in NC too.
Ds's have been out of school here since May 25, of course they started last August 5th.

Disneyland?? wow I haven't been there in years.

Beth
