06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

party: Yeah! No more rain for Wendilyn! Sending you pixie dust that you won't have to make the days up! pixiedust:

Wish me luck tomorrow. I meet with the higher ups! I e-mailed my concerns to our princpal as she wanted to make an agenda as she has several things to say to them as well. Here's hoping my concerns didn't lose me my job! Oh well, the cruise and WDW are already paid in full! I go no matter what!

It seems like time is in slow motion and my ticker for the cruise is just not moving fast enough!

Great news Wendy about the rain. Who would have thought you would have to worry about emergency days off in the spring. We're flying out on 6-22 so I would be in panic mode.

It does sound like people are a bit disappointed in Coz, especially the beaches. If you are planning on a beach, I think if you research you may find some that are better than others.

We're doing a snorkel trip with Eagle Ray, so I hope they know the good spots!

Hi everyone! I have a pretty dumb question. If we come back to Port Canaveral at 7:35 a.m. on July 1st, what time do we have to be off the ship by? I cruised in 2004 but we were shuttled to the Swan & Dolphin resorts Friday night instead of going to Castaway Cay due to Hurricane Jeanne. :sad2: I have to set up my shuttle to MCO and need to know an approximate time. Thanks for your help!

It depends if you have early or late seating. If you have early seating, breakfast is at 6:45 or something like that. But you could sleep in a bit later and eat at Topsiders. If you have late seating, I still think they try to get you out by 8:30 and have everyone off the ship by 9:00 or 9:30. On other threads, I have read that people request to be picked up at 9:00.
We are using DCL transfer for the trip back to MCO, that has been very easy for us in the past.

Had to post a message to get us back to page 1!!!

Okay, one more question, please give me some descriptions of your ladies formalwear? How fancy are you going?

Thanks!!
Kindly,
Meg

Hi Meg - Our family always dresses up for formal night. My two DDs and myself wear long dresses and my DH wears a tuxedo. It's the only time that we get a beautiful family portrait.

Meg:
We always dress up too, my husband like to rent the tux on board and then he doesn't have to pack a suit!

Still no word from our superintendent about making up flood days, they are not going to make the kids make them up, but probably the teachers! Oh, well, guess they can dock my pay, cause I'm not missing the boat! (ship) :Pinkbounc
Lori: did you book eagle ray snorkeling online?
Happy Friday! :bounce:

5 days and counting!!!!

I just checked my reservation on line. All along it has said main dining 6:00. Now it just says main dining. Anybody else's change? I wonder what it means? :confused3

Same for me...it now says Main Dinner Seating; it used to say 6:00. Maybe they found it too confusing for people. I don't think they do the actual seating plans until a few weeks before the cruise when there are not likely to be many changes.

Meg - I am wearing white dress pants & a black & white top w/ black heels for one of the formal nights. If I can find the perfect black dress then I will wear that on formal nt. I value my comfort and relaxation on vacation so we are not dragging an extra suitcase full of clothes halfway across the country for 5 hrs of wearing time. We won't come dressed like slobs, but we won't be the family in tuxes and floor length gowns :duck:

Our dining time has changed 3x now :confused3

Wendy-eagle ray was recommended on the boards. Jillpie and I e-mailed them with questions and then set it up from there. They seem really nice and eager to please. I think we are set at 11am. We originally were booked for 1 and thought it was too close to comfort. I know reports haven't been great, but I know there is some damage at CC so we want to at least try in Coz. since it was said to have great snorkeling before the hurricane. We love to snorkel and we are going to take the chance.

I hope they don't mess up your plans for the trip. I'm sure if you explained it, they could arrange something.

I'm going to check out my dinner ressies too!

My dinner ressies now say main seating as well. Maybe they gave up!!! I wonder if they mentioned this on the live cruise report?

Remember, whoever gets their docs, post it so we can all start looking for the truck!!! :teeth:

20 pages to go!!!

Hello everyone -- it has been awhile for me. I checked my dinner ressies and they now say main dinner seating too, maybe they are giving up on the staggered times?

As far as dressing for dinner, my family is going all out for formal night. Not something we do and we are looking very forward to it. Got a tux for my DS on Ebay and a dress for me off the clearance rack at Dilliard's.

Wonder if I could just rent shoes for my DS from the ship's formal rental?

I've got to start packing!!!!

I might be losing my mind during full lead student teaching... but I do know that it is 6 weeks until we are on our beautiful ship!!!!!

FantasiaMM - you can definitely rent just the shoes. It's what I did in 2004, and will be doing again next month.

Princess Vija- Hang in there! You can do it!

I can't believe that in 30 days we will be in WDW and then onto the Magic! :stitch: :figment: :goofy: :sulley: :mickeyjum

Hey there DisneyDoc!!! Glad to hear from you!! Are you ready??? :cool1:

Vija-Well I hope that your student teaching goes well! There is light at the end of the tunnel and it's about to get brighter. :sunny: It's not 6 weeks, it's only 5 weeks until we double dip!!!! :woohoo:

I'm trying not to think about where we'll be in 6 weeks. :sad2: :crazy2: :worried: :(

Marie called DCL about the dining times-staggered dining is still in. They are just going to list main and late from now on. But they told Marie that they would try to honor any requests made. Bummer! Just when I thought I had all but one (Palo brunch) of my eggs in the basket.

This will be our first Disney Cruise and except for a three night cruise on our honeymoon, which was many years ago, this is our first seven night cruise. Cruising will be myself, my DH, DD who will turn 14 on the cruise, and my DS who will be 10 a few days after the cruise. I enjoy reading all the information posted. It is getting so close now we are really getting excited. My daughter is concerned about going into the teen area and not knowing anyone, this does not seem to bother my son at all. Does anyone know what night is the Pirate Night? I am looking forward to CC since everyone seems to really like this, relaxing on the beach sounds great to me.
Thanks for all the information.

Welcome! I asked DD17 (this will be her fifth cruise) for suggestions for your daughter. DD17 said to go the first night when they do mixers. What has worked for DD17 is to just walk around and introduce herself to people (she is fairly social). She said she also went to the Stack during "open" times and just picked a game and asked teens "who wants to play Uno". She did mention that Jenga is not a great game on the ship ("Mom, think about it...a swaying ship?" :rotfl: )

Also, come to our DIS meet at the sailaway party at 4:30 on Saturday, we can introduce families (at least before the boys head out for basketball -- and maybe DD17 who hates to be left out of anything). We are on deck ten, I can't remember which side -- Lori????

Make sure that the Stack knows that DD will have a birthday so they recognize it if she is there that day...make sure your dining room host knows it also (they will bring a small cake, nothing special). You can also order a basket from Shirley (www.theperfectgift.cc) to be in your room when you arrive, and/or you can order a "celebration" kit from Disney (see website).

Pirates Night is usually Wednesday, the day we are in Cozumel. And since this is a "double dip" we get two days at CC!

:sail: Welcome Aboard goofy and max! :welcome:
