06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

I'll have to feed DH early too ;) I haven't told him about the late seating yet..... SHHH!

I have been trying for 15 min to get the search to work, so I guess I will just ask. I know at Port C we will be in the Eastern Time Zone, will CC be Eastern as well?

I know Cozumel & Costa Maya are Central.

RCBA-All the time zones are eastern except for CM and Coz. We are asked to change our clocks when we change into the new time zone.

BB-I don't have one from today, do you mean from before? I'll go check to see which one I have.

You can try to change it when you board. Until then, at least call DCL and have them put a request on your reservation for the 8:00 seating. With staggered seating, late seating could be either 8, 8:15 or 8:30. That extra half hour could help you out.

Thanks for the link MusicGirl.

Doingitagain: On the website, my ressie says 8pm does that mean we are being seated at 8pm, or does it just mean I have late seating and could get 8, 8:15 or 8:30

Does anyone have a good site to find out more about Maj. beach? I keep finding info that Uvero beach is good for the toddler set on CM.

I think we may hit Paradise Beach in Cozumel and maybe Hard Rock

From what I have read, you don't know your actual rotation until you board. To be safe, I would call.

Thanks. 8pm I could tolerate if I had to...8:30 would be pushing my limit :) We usually eat NLT 7pm

Here is a link for Maj. Beach. Don't click where it says Maj. beach pictures on the sides. Scroll wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy down and click on the different pictures from the main list.

Don't fret too much about the dinner time. You'll probably be able to chnge it. And if not, there is so much to eat, its sometimes hard to be hungry!!!
But there is always room for dessert!!!

Go for the sympathy factor and remind them you have a two year old when you ask for the seating. Be sure to wait list for early seating at the same time you list your second choice as 8:00 late seating.

I was really hoping they would be over the staggered dinner times by our cruise.

Oh well, Coz. day has been getting better and better. #1 we now know we are going!! #2 there is a chance we might get to dock instead of tender.

We are on a roll, keep it going DCL!!!!!!

Charla, I've heard alot of good things about Paradise Beach. It must be very difficult with a little one in regards to excursions. Do they have the submarine one there where you go down and get to "snorke"l without getting wet!!!?
That might be fun to watch the fish.

But also remember, the best time to use the pool is on port days. So if you get the chance to get out and about, you could always come back to the ship for the pool.

Big tip: take some water from the ship whenever you leave to rinse your eyes of the salt water. Sometimes the little ones (or myself) don't tolerate it, it can sting.

Wow- everyone has been rather busy, I can't believe how many posts have been put on in the last couple hours! :chat:
MusicGirl- You're right on!!! "There's always room for dessert" I'm already dreaming of the MIDNIGHT DESSERT BUFFET!!!!! :mickeybar
As for my husband, he can't wait for all the great drinks! :drinking1

Hi Jamie

We are 1st time cruisers so I will likely be asking a lot of questions as I am a planner. I have been reading the DCL board for a few months so hopefully I won't drive you all too crazy

RCBA- Were so glad you made it! :jumping1:
Its going to be so much fun!
And as for questions please ask away! Hope we can help.

Yes, by all means....ask away, some of us are a little bit, well how can I put this...crazy about DCL and a bit obsessive ourselves. I've been packed since Sept. 2004!!! Well not totally, but I do have a "cruise drawer".

What is a cruise drawer you ask???? Well, anytime I bought something (and that is always cheap, cheap, cheap on the off season!) I fold it neatly and put it in the cruise drawer. Well last week, I went through the drawer and I had around 25 t-shirts/tank tops etc. I did narrow it down to about 15.

I think I have about 20 t-shirts for my son.

I'm not sure what will become of me after the cruise. :confused3

Are the majority of you doing 1 way car rentals for transportation to/from MCO ?
That seems to be the cheapest way based on what I have read here.

We will probably fly in Friday...If we can get an early enough flight I'd like to take DS to the Magic Kingdom. He hasn't been to Disney yet.

Welcome Charla to our cruise!!! :boat:

My wife was wondering since there are so many teachers going on our cruise, is anyone a math teacher?

Lorie, just wondered if you know how much it costs at Maj. Beach to rent wave runners?

Welcome Charla! :cool1: This is going to be such a great cruise with so many DIS friends on board! We are planning to do the submarine excursion. My DD is too young for many of the excursions and sounds like something fun to do.

Musicgirl,
Last time I had a cruise box. THis time I don't and I feel SOOOOO lost. I did buy a sleeveless tshirt (lime green of course!), and I am desperately searching for swimsuits. I may have to order one, but that makes me nervous. I just like to try them on first.

Congrats to all the DDD's that are working hard. I am working it, and hopefully will see some results soon. :goodvibes

Welcome Charla! :)

As always, I miss all the weekend fun around here. :goodvibes Oh, I do hope we dock at Cozumel. How fun would that be?! I'd love to be able to walk around there at night.

To the DVC'rs on this thread! I was on a waitlist for BCV (own there) for the last two months. I had ressies at the BWV for a one bedroom for the week before the cruise and alas! They called me on Friday and said the BC opened up. :) I was so happy. We now get to swim in that gorgeous Stormalong Bay pool. I figured all pools will be packed that week, so if that one is it may not be so bad. So anyone else going to be there? Are we still meeting at Beaches and Cream on Friday at 4:00sh? :cheer2: Yahoo! I'll be packing for the cruise and doing last minute laundry by about then, then the Magic Kingdom that night. :goodvibes
