06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

B.B.-how silly of me to forget about our lime green, the more green the better. :thumbsup2 The looks on our kids faces will need no words.

Ok this is what I found when I was shopping for door magnets.

I have 8 lime green 8 x 11 foam sheets that can be used to frame whatever.

I have 10 dry erase pens (2 for $1!!!!) and they have erasers on the ends!!! I can get more.

We can also use the refrigerator photo pockets with the magnetic backs. If we did that, we could print out a message and leave half of it blank so we could write on it. These come in a variety of sizes from 4 x 6 to 8 x 10. Funny thing, at Michael's crafts, each size for 1 was $2???????

I also have laminating sheets 8 x 11. On regular paper we could print out a message/date etc. on the top half and leave the bottom blank. Then put the printout in the laminating sheets. The dry erase pens will work on the laminated sheets.

On the last one, we would need to put on magnetic strips on the back. I'm also going to see if I can run these through the laminators at school. We wouldn't have to,but I think it would work better.

What do you all think???

I was also thinking that I could cut the mickey head out of the foam and put a pin on the back. We could put our dis names on it (with our real names also) and wear them for the sail a way party.

door magnets

Back again, they do have magnetic sheets 8 x 10 that you can print from the computer. You could do 2 from that. But you couldn't write on it.

I have made a door magnet for our room. It is simply the picture of the back of Mickey and Minnie sitting on a dock looking at the Magic. Next to them is "Discover Uncharted Magic". (I still might remove these words.) At the top of the picture it says "Double Dip Cruise" "June 24, 2006 - July 1, 2006"
At the bottom of the picture it says "The Lepore Family" "Las Vegas, Nevada".

They're nothing crazy or fancy but we like them. If anybody wanted one I would be happy to customize it with their family name and hometown and send it to them.

Sounds cute--I have no creative ability at all!!!!

I might take you up on the offer for one.

Carole, that's sounds kind of like what I want to do, but I don't know how to describe it!!!

Going across the top with something like DCl Double Dip June 24, 2006
On the bottom of the page The family name. then laminate the page so you can write in the middle, frame it with the green foam. I saw some fun palm trees, suns, sunglasses, beach balls etc that you could glue on the frame.

Anyone who's interested in the door magnet/erase board or a lime green foam mickey head magnet, just let me know. I'll probably just make about a dozen of the Mickey heads and bring them along.

At Joann fabrics they have memo boards with a lime green border for $4. I've also seen the memo door hangers in green as well.

Your ideas for door magnets sound great.

By the way, Lorie, I noticed that our cabins are just around the corner from each other.

Also, if anybody had DSs ages around 6 & 9 my DSs are looking to get to know someone before the cruise. Just let me know.

Lorie and Carole, I am very interested! Thanks so much for doing this for others. I appreciate it very much!

Lorie, you have been busy at work!

I would love one of the lime green magnets! Please let us know how much it costs, I'd be glad to send it to you.

Way back last Summer, Verandah Man so kindly made me a beautiful magnet sign for our door, I love it. Its got lots of fun words on it for our cruise, also celebrating our 20th anniversary and Pat's graduation. :) So I'll be hanging that too. So fun!

That's cool, BethA, that you are flying out of Pittsburgh, what time? We leave at 8:45AM.

The door magnet is a wonderful idea!

Jeff-Yes, we are around the corner, I think your parents cabin is next to Jill.

Anyone else 7 aft????

I'm going back to the store later and pick up some "stuff" for magnets. I'm going to make one, and then I'll try to post the picture for those interested. Maybe I'll have dh-Bill do that since I am technology challanged!!!! :rotfl2:

HI
We're 6 aft!
Coz: Check out cruisecritic for update info on beaches. Many have just reopened and lots have lost much of their beaches. I'll wait until we here more back before we decide on Mr. Sanchos or paradise beach.
Lori, thanks for making signs! Let me know if you need anything!
Wendy :)

Ok, here are a few 1st run ideas. These are all magnetic.
1-This one is for you-B.B. It is an 8 x 10 picture pocket. I can stick a picture of whatever inside.

2-This is a 5 x 7 picture pocket. The insert can be changed with whatever you want.

3-this is a 4 x 6 picture pocket. Above are 2 mickey paint icons. The darker green is still lime green. (I like it better personally) It is called sonic boom. The second is the alien green. The printing is permanent. I can do this in the foam or with the paint samples I have.

I can put any wording you want. I've got all kinds of trees, flowers, suns, sandals, sunglasses in the pink, purple, green, blue, yellow, orange. I can do mickey in black as well.

Check out the samples on the last page for the magnets.

Oh, I forgot to mention-you can write/erase on all the picture pockets.

Lorie - You did a great job! They all look great! If I can figure out how to post a picture of my magnet I will.

Lorie they look wonderful! I will probably also take you up on the offer! One thing I know I am not at all crafty;-(
So let me get this right we are all even kids going to try and do the Lime Green?
Goodness have to start looking for the color? I think this means a shopping trip!

Minnie, I'm pretty sure I will not be able to convince my guys to wear lime green. I barely got ds to wear a matching polo for the embarkment picture last time. he wore a 2nd shirt so he could take it off immediately.

My lime green glasses maybe the only thing I'll be donning quite that bright, but who knows.

I still want to experiment with the picture that I used. I can use that or whatever else I round up.

Carole, I have to admit that I failed at posting those. I made dh do it!! I'm technology challenged. :rotfl:

Lorie,

Your door magnets are great! I like them all! Maybe I should get an 11 x 14 for additional embarrassment -- ha!ha! I may take you up on your offer -- I'll have to decide on one.

I'm not sure about getting the family in lime green for the sail away meet either. I may just display my Home Depot paint chip on a stick -- like I'm looking for someone at the airport. Is that goofy or what?!
