06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

Meg - I am not heading out till Sat am...I will keep you company! :surfweb:

who else is heading out on Sat am?

Don't worry, I am still here at WDW on this irritating Blackberry. Hard to post, but I will work on the post count.

Love keeping up with you all, though!

Prayers and pixie dust to Leeanne!

Marie

Good morning everyone. We don't leave until Thursday night so I'll try and help to keep the post count up!

Talk to you all later after packing, laundry and cleaning! Oops, almost forgot, kids have a music lesson at 2:30. I better not forget later!

Wow, it is sure getting empy in here :worried: . I am getting very excited about leaving soon. We don't go until Friday morning but I have a lot to do before then. I have pulled out stuff for myself and my two DD's. It is sitting on the extra bedroom bed. Now the question is can we fit it all into the suitcases  . I was going to try and pack light but then I thought I would hate it if I needed something and didn't have it. So, I packed more. We will have to see how the weight limit goes at the airport.

I will try and help keep the postings going until we leave. Is anyone else bring door signs? Are you worried about getting them onto the plane after MusicGirl made those calls? I am not sure if I should try and carry them on or put them in the checked luggage. What are other people doing?

I am bringing them on in a carryon. I figure they can look at it and go from there. Good luck packing! We ended up having to pack an extra bag. :rolleyes1 I wanted some room to bring water and soda on. Then we will have lots of room for souveniers! ::yes::

We don't head out until Saturday AM. Our DD has her Dance Recital on Friday night. That will be a late night with a very early rise for a 7 AM flight. We are so excited that I doubt we will get much sleep that night. We are ready.

I'm hoping someone posts that they just returned from CC and that the POC ship has finally arrived. We are keeping our fingers crossed. If they toss in a viewing of the new POC-2, then we will be on cloud 9. :cool1: :dance3:

I don't have a lime green shirt and will be running around with a group of 8 adults and 7 kids. I'll introduce myself to those I spot.

Our door on deck 2 will have a bunch of Mickey ears from Home Depot in picture magnet holders. One will say Luvcruising.

"Life is good, and why shouldn't it be, I'm a pirate!"

Lee Anne- I hope you get good news from the doctor.:thumbsup2 Charla- I hope DH is doing well by the cruise. You caught it early enough that he should be ok.:groom:

Meg, Connie and Minnie7701- I will be here with you on Friday. I don't leave until very, very early Sat. morning. I am meeting my college roomie in Atlanta airport and then we will be heading into MCO. We decided to tag our bags with the Disney tags so Disney will pick them up and take them to the ship. We will just head to the Disney cast members and onto the Disney busses. We can hardly wait for the cruise and to be together. It has been 30 years since we roomed together. Let the fun begin.:dance3: Teri

Princess, don't cry!!! There's no crying on a DCL trip!!! ;)

We are getting one heck of a storm today!! I hope it settles before the morning.

Does anyone else feel like that disney commercial where the kids are talking in bed and the parents tell them to go to sleep. The kids then reply, WE'RE TOO EXCITED! Then the parents are in bed and one says to the other, "are you asleep" and the other says, "I'M TOO EXCITED"

:goodvibes :thumbsup2 :teeth: :yay: :dance3:

Susan-I'm taking my magnets on the plane with me. So hopefully you all won't hear about me on the news tomorrow!! ;)

FINALLY, I'm over-packed!!! :rotfl:

Does anyone else try to weigh their bags at home by weighing someone and then have them hold the suitcase???? I wonder how accurate that is???

YES! It was pretty funny as DH is carrying bag after bag onto the scale with himself! We are close to the limit on one bag and all the rest are fine. We just had to get another bag! :lmao:

Hey guess what? I posted this on the main board, but we got our tickets for KSC and we can't enter until 1:30! I am so frustrated with that. What are we going to do for 5 hours? other than play ring around the rosie with all the trafic? I was telling DH that I was frustrated that we won't be able to see or do hardly anything at the ksc and guess what he said???? He said we will just have to go back! :woohoo: This is from the man that said this is it for WDW! Don't get me wrong, he loves WDW and loves to see me happy at my happy place, but he wants to see other things too. So we are planning a trip out west in a couple of years. BUT I guess I can start planning my next trip to WDW!!!! I figure we will do KSC, Discovery Cove, Universal, AND WDW! But shhhhh, don't say anything to DH on the cruise.... I have to be sneaky about this! :tiptoe:

I always weigh my luggage with my husband holding it and then subtracting his weight. It is usually fairly close when we put it on the scale at the airport. I just hope I don't buy so much stuff that it puts me overweight on the way home. :sad2: Teri

I just LOVE this board!! :woohoo:

I never even thought about having DH stand on the scale and hand him the luggage. :thumbsup2

We'll present as a "Taking one for the team" kind of a thing!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

And I'd better add a few more smilies to add more pages!!! How about my to do list:

:laundy:
:hourglass
:drive: to softball/soccer
:surfweb: for other lonely Dis'ers
:drinking1
:beach:
:cloud9:

Oh wait, I crossed over from to-do into vacation mode!!

Two more days!!

Meg

Oh goodness I have to call US Air... what is usual weight limit? :rolleyes2
Just one more thing to worry about the weight of my lugagge..great!

Need to finish packing tonight because best friend is coming over tomorrow with my godchildren (need to make time for them) and Friday DD and I have nail appt. :woohoo:
Busy Busy

Minnie- the usual weight limit is 50 pounds. If you are over, it costs $25. It is sometimes better to use 2 suitcases instead of one, so you don't go over the weight limit. This is especially true for coming home with all the souvenirs that we all buy. I have seen people buying suitcases in the gift shop the last night of the cruise. Their suitcases are a little expensive. Teri

Yesterday was my day at the spa (aromatherapy bath, hour massage, hour facial). It was great, a bit overpriced buy hey I didn't care, it was a gift!!!

Today I just got back from my pedicure and manicure.

All I need is to be on the plane!!

Teri-If you buy too much, I figure it is either worth the $25 or maybe on the way home, just throw out some of dh or ds stuff!!! :lmao:

:goodvibes Lorie- I always make sure my bags don't make the weight limit, so I can buy all that I want to buy. I have never been on the Western, so I don't know what things I will buy. I always buy a photo album for my 4x6 prints. I think I may get an album for the 6x8's I buy from Shutters. I could put in my ones from the past and the ones from this cruise. I would love to buy a Mexican skirt and peasant type top that are the style now. I am cheap though and don't want to pay too much. I will probably get everyone at home a tee shirt from Senor Frog or Carlos and Charlies if they have some I like. But my love is to buy jewelry- especially pink sapphires or diamonds. I doubt I get any jewelry, but you never know. I will definitely look.;)
