06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

OK, so I went to pack my first bag (its getting kind of old and already had one seam blow) but when I put my snorkel stuff in, it looked really, really small... So I went and got a new bigger bag! Now I just worry if its going to weigh too much. Dont have a scale to test it out, and havnt packed this much in a long time.

Its getting so close!!!

This cruise is costing you more and more....

I stand on the bathroom scale with mine and then subtract my weight from that to see how much the bag weighs. I also know that I can't lift more than 50# in one hand...so that helps.
But of course you skinny minnies probably don't have a bathroom scale!!

Typically my job keeps me occupied and entertained, but this entire week has just been dragging on... I cant focus at all and the minutes seem like hours. Sadly it will be the opposite once on the ship, time is going to fly by.

Only a few more hours of work to go... actual hours, not minute hours....

The bride finally called. They had a nice "pre-honeymoon" honeymoon, but now she's full of packing questions. Called 3 times already.

I'm leaving the house w/o my cell just to get some peace. I know, evil Mom.

You are not the only one!!! I have GOT to pack tonight. I still have things on my "To Do" list which will probably not get done. I just know I am going to forget something important!

I have been having nightmares all week about showing up to the port with no birth certificates... those will be the first thing I pack in my carry-on

I've decided that if it isn't in the bags by now, then we don't need it.

At least I don't have to get up at three a.m. like Megan and Dave do....or Virgil's family coming from the east coast. I only have to be out of the house by 8 a.m. tomorrow.

Well, the bags are packed. We were hoping to get away with 2 large suitcases, a garment bag and one carry-on.
We had to add another bag because we were WAY over the 50 lb limit. So, now we have all of the above bags (49 pounds each for the big ones) and one additional medium sized bag. At least it is done! Now I can just wait and relax until our flight tomorrow afternoon. A lovely bottle of Vino is calling me....

Well - all of the suitcases are packed - just have to wait until Emily arrives tomorrow to finish. I couldn't find our snorkeling gear - Frances isn't too happy about that... I thought I knew where it was.... it must be somewhere else....

Another day of work - and then Lauren's dance recital....

Can't wait until we board the ship on Sunday....

Last post for now. I'll try to post tomorrow from the Doubletree. We're having dinner with some people that I'm going on the Panama Canal cruise with, and should be back at the hotel pretty early, but I know I won't sleep....so will probably be online!!

I hate to say this, but we won't be joining you guys on the cruise afterall. Olivia came down with the stomach flu this morning and has been throwing up all day long. We just got back from Urgent Care and they recommended against going. We have a note from the doctor. She's just listless and hasn't been able to keep any food down all day.

Has anyone gone through an insurance claim before? We purchased our trip from Costco.

I hope that you all have fun! If any of you want a better Cat 11 room, 6131 is now free!

Cant sleep.. just finished packing and I know I am over limit!!! OOOH WELLL.

KIds were so excited when we told them about the trip, I belive the only reason they are asleep is from pure exhaustion. Well this should be my last post. C everyone on Sunday... we leave tomorrow at 7:50 AM. I should try and sleep.

Phyllis, I am soooo sorry about Olivia being sick. And that you aren't going. But now is a good time for you to be resting anyway. I firmly believe there is a plan and reason.
As Virgil said, call the insurance company right away, and they will get the ball rolling for you.

The good news is that Megan and Dave made it to Houston, so now I can rest easier, knowing that they can easily get to CA from there if their flight gets messed up.
