06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Thanks everyone. I'm sure it will all be fine. Or at least that's what he keeps telling me. I'm the worrier and he's the happy-go-lucky guy. Poor guy had a bad case of the flu this year and now this. He doesn't do well with sitting still and doing nothing (kinda like a big kid) so this is going to be challenging for him.

We're busy here counting down the days. Is it too soon to pack yet? We have been putting stuff aside in a small duffle bag and it's starting to overflow. We may need to get one of the suitcases out soon.

My oldest DD is making an autograph book for the baby. Here's what she's done so far.

The book is sooooo cute, very creative! I am sure all will go well for your DH and my thoughts and prayers to the list. Take care and have a great week. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know what time we get off the ship on Sunday? I am trying to schedule my flight, I have a choice of 12:35 pm or 10:30 pm. Can I make the 12:35 pm or will that be too early? I can not believe that Delta does not have something in between those two. The 10:30 pm would put me home at about 11:00 am the next morning. I was actually planning on going back to work that day. Someone might question me calling in sick after a weeks vacation.

I also have a question about the door signs. What kind of information do people usually put on those. Is it just pictures and clip-art or do you include names and hometowns too? :confused3

Sheila - The autograph book is really cute, your DD is doing a great job.

In the past everyone was off prior to 9am. So I would say :thumbsup2 go for the noon flight. And if for some reason you decide to go for the later one, I would simply let your job know now what time your flight gets in and that you won't be in till the following day.

We normally put our family's last name, and our number of cruises, and we ALWAYS put our cabin number on them,,,,that way it is very hard for someone to 'borrow' it since they are not in that cabin number :lmao: We also make individual door signs with just the first names...like Princess Jennah or Pirate Kaleb...etc... I also make numberous door signs and put them out on diffrent days...makes the door so festive. Hope this helps. Enjoy your Friday.

Hey great tip to put our cabin number on the signs. Now if I only knew my cabin number :rotfl2: still a cat 6 GT.....UUUGH!!!! I wonder when.................

Have you checked your reservation lately on DCL's website? I would think they would have to put you somewhere soon :lmao: or else those little life boats could be very un-comfortable.

Even if you fly out of LAX, you should have time to make the noon flight, especially on a Sunday. Just make sure you're off the ship a.s.a.p. and that you have transportation waiting for you.

We haven't ever put pictures of ourselves on the door....either characatures (sp?) or Disney stuff, but we have put our last name on some and our first names on some. Haven't ever put the hometown.
I know some people aren't comfortable with putting their names on them at all, and that's fine, but it doesn't bother me.

Great idea about putting the room number on the signs so that they don't "wander" off! But I hate to jinx myself from getting that magical upgrade to the Walt. ;)
:confused3 What??? It could happen..........yeah, about the time you-know-where freezes over.

I called Disney and they said I shouldn't schedule anything before 1:00. There was a noon flight I wanted that was cheaper but we went with the 2:30 flight and paid a lot more for it. Darn!

Very cute! Do you or your oldest daughter scrapbook? I do, although haven't done much lately being I'm back at work and trying to get ready for the trip. I work up until the day we leave. I'm not sure how I'll be ready!:scared:

Yes, we both scrapbook but I hardly have time for it anymore. When I do have time I do digital scrapbooking because it's easier for me. I am so far behind and I think digital is the only way I will catch up, at least on the more current stuff.

Well, DH's surgery went well so now the healing process begins. He doesn't have another Dr. appointment until next week so we won't know until then what's next. We know he will need to go to physical therapy but we don't know yet when that will start.

I'm hoping to go through my summer clothes tomorrow and see what I have and what I still need.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hello All!

We cruised last year with DCL on the Eastern Caribbean cruise and now this year, we're on the Mexican Riviera cruise! It will be me, my DH, and my DD. We'll be celebrating her 3rd birthday on the cruise! :)

Thank you for the info. That helps. I think we are going to go with the 12:30 flight and take our chances. I do not think I can handle a red eye with my two little nieces. I love them, but after spending a week on the ship with them, I do not think I want to try to keep them entertained until 10:30 pm when the next flight leaves. We have traveled with them before and they do fine most of the time, but I think that would push them (and me) to the limit. :scared1:

I'm a scrapper too. I never have enough time for it either. I started playing around with digital back in the Summer and have done a few layouts, but I am still way behind. I have found some cute Disney digital freebies stuff. I can not wait to use it.

Well, DH's surgery went well so now the healing process begins. He doesn't have another Dr. appointment until next week so we won't know until then what's next. We know he will need to go to physical therapy but we don't know yet when that will start.

Glad to hear that the surgery went well. :yay: Hope the healing process goes quickly, so he will be mostly, if not all the way, recovered by cruise time.

Thank you for the door sign information. That gives me some idea of what to include. The cabin number is a great idea, I know I would not have thought of that. Now, I just have to get busy and get them made.
