Lorie...the Queen Mary is awesome to see. It's near the port, in Long Beach.


I *think* we have everything just about set for the cruise. I still need to book a couple of excursions at the 90 day mark....but unless I've forgotten something (and I usually do) we should be ready.



Getting ready to head to Las Vegas for the weekend. Everyone have a safe and wonderful weekend!!

My family: Me (Jennifer), DH (Craig), DS (5), DS (2) will be on this cruise. I can't believe its coming so fast. My husband and I have been on the DCL 4 day before kids as well as NCL 10 day. So this will be our first time experiencing cruising with them. Wouldn't use any other line with my crazy boys! Anybody know when you find out your room if you have GTY ressie?

My DS5 really wants to swim with the sea lions in PV. My DH loves photography and so we'll probably do the catemaran & drive tour in Cabo. Not sure in Matzelan though. We're avoiding beaches because our oldest has allergies significant enough for us to always have an EPIpen, so jellyfish could be a disaster. I can't even imagine getting to a beach and telling him not to go near the water! We go several times a year to CA for the beaches so better to be safe than sorry. Lots of other things for him anyway.

We are spending a week in DL before the cruise. Kids can't wait. We haven't been since DS2 was 6 months! We love extending to a week so we can do the parks leisurely and have lots of time for relaxing!

Gosh, just writing this I am getting so exicited! I still can't believe it came so fast!

Welcome to the DIS boards and welcome to our little group!

I'm not sure when you find out your room when you have a GTY. I just realized I'm not sure how anything works now that they have the online check-in. They didn't have that the last time we cruised.

We were just at DL yesterday for the day. It was crowded and we weren't able to get a lot done. Some day we will have to go for a few days and just take our time. We usually only do one or 2 days at a time.

I hope everyone has a good week. We're getting really close to the 90 day mark!

Woohoo! We are at the 100 day mark. I am getting so excited. We are in the process of trying to book a tour to pick us up from San Pedro after the cruise. Our flight out of LAX is not until 5:20 so we have some time to kill. I am open to any suggestions you might have...

Did you find out anything about the tour? I was thinking of doing this, too. I haven't booked airfare yet, hoping the price for airfare that flies out at 2:25 would go down. The 5:25 flight is quite a bit cheaper but DH doesn't want to wait around that long. I haven't done any research on it yet though, so curious if you did.

What would you do with your luggage if you took a tour?

Sorry all, I've been busy at work and am just catching up. I did not make the banner for the med cruise but I'll take a stab at a new banner. Does anyone have a suggestion for our group name, ala "Medhead Cruisers"?

We're looking forward to 3/10 which will be the opening of our 90 day window for pre-booking Palo reservations as CC members. I've also been looking at options for independent tours versus those provided by Disney. We booked all but one of our Med tours through private operators and we LOVED it.

Does anyone know what nights the formal night and Pirates night are on?

I've had a nasty cold since we got back from Las Vegas, and we're going to Disneyland next week, so I haven't been on here...just trying hard to get better!

The booking time is 12:01 Eastern time.

Jeff, my best guess...and only a guess based on what they've done in the past...

Monday....Formal
Tuesday...Casual
Wednesday....Casual
Thursday....Pirate
Friday....possibly semi-formal or
Saturday....possibly semi-formal

They'll throw in Prince/Princess night somewhere and maybe one other special night, but not another formal night.

I'm not nearly creative enough to come up with anything for a banner. I was lucky to come up with "Magic and Mickey to Mexico".........

Your room number could show up in your online reservation at any time (keep checking) or maybe you won't find out until you get to the port. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Most likely, you will find out (by looking online) after the two-week mark, when they have all the dining set up. That is, if it isn't in with your documents when they arrive.

Hi Michelle,

I did find a tour that will pick us up at the port at 9 am and have us at LAX by 4pm. It is the grand tour - Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Venice Beach, Santa Monica... all the usual stuff and lunch at Mel's Diner.

I booked with a company called Sunseeker Tours. The owner is called Ken Brown and seemed to be a pretty nice guy. He told me that the coach could stow our luggage with no problem. If you are interested, you can go to his website sunseekertours.us

Hi everybody - I just looked at my kid's school calendars; and DS14 is done on June 4 and DS8 is done on June 5. So maybe we'll drive to Anaheim on Thursday night; and spend a few days at DL first.

My 6 year anniversary at my job is March 14, and I will have three weeks of vacation now! So I have more vacation time to do this with. Woot!

Hi everyone! My family, Me 38, DH 38, DD 12 and DS 9 are finally booked. Our story is a long one, but I will try and shorten it. We had originally booked as soon as reservations were made available and I had begun all of my planning. Well a family situation came up and we had to cancel. Well things worked out and we just rebooked---2 days ago!!! I am so excited. I have alot to do and tons to catch up on. Please help. Are there any plans for a meet and greet? How about for the sail away party? Ant recomendations for pre/post stay. I can not wait!!!!!! It looks like the next 90 plus days I will be cramming in all I have missed.

I think we could have a Meet & Greet onboard before the lifeboat drill....or we could do it during the sailaway party.....depends on what everyone else wants to do.
We usually do them up on Deck 10, overlooking the Goofy pool....Starboard side.

Well was everyone up at 12:01 eastern time like me?? I made my PALO reservation and shore trips are all set! Me and my family are up fro the meet and greet, anywhere will be great. I am hoping my kids can meet some buddies. Only 90 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Luckily 12am est is 9pm here on the other coast so I got in last night. I was able to get Palo brunch for Friday (Friday the 13th, has anyone else noticed that?) and get some hours in the nursery for the baby.

It's all starting to seem so real now!

Congratulations on getting your resies! As a newbie to DCL, I have have to wait until the 75 day mark to book anything. I am so bummed. I am a little nervous about being able to get what I want, so I have prepared myself by choosing some 2nd and 3rd options. Wish me luck! We really want to do the pirate ship in PV.

Anyone have any 5-ish year olds going? I would love to have my DD (5 1/2) make some e-friends before we go. Let me know if you are interested in connecting our kids.

Lorie - I'm sure you'll be able to get what you're looking for.

You'll love the pirate cruise - we did that last time and it was a lot of fun. Follow the link in my signature and there are pictures from our last cruise including a bunch for the pirate cruise.

I have a minor dilemma with my ressies. We have 2 cabins and when I started booking last night, I had only paid one in full. So when I made the Palo ressie, it only let me select DH. I then went and paid for the other cabin figuring I would go back and modify the ressie to add me and DD19. Well, it lets me attempt to modify the ressie but I get an error before completing the changes. And now the time I have reserved is no longer available for 3-4 guests. Do you think I will have a problem changing it once we're onboard?

Sheila, I don't think you'll have trouble just adding one or two people to an already existing reservation. And you can continue to try to modify it, too. The systems get bogged down on the first day of reservations.


I got on right at 9:01 our time...12:01 Florida time...and my reservation came up saying that I was not paid in full! And so then it wouldn't let me book anything. But I remembered that someone else had that happen to them, and so I logged out and logged back in and all was fine. I got what I needed, which wasn't much.
An excursion in Maz and one in PV.....and then decided to make a reservation for a manicure on the first sea day because I always manage to break a nail unpacking....and then have to beg borrow and steal a quick repair at the spa. So now if I break one, I'm prepared. If not...someone will get lucky to have my opening.


Lorie...I don't think you'll have trouble getting excursions. Palo is about the only thing that books up right away. It's usually only the longer sailings that have problems.

One excursion in Cabo & 1 in PV. 10 hours of sitting booked for DS2. Palo Brunch on Saturday.

We are considering booking privately with King David's out of Maz for a Jungle Cruise. I've seen good reviews. Anyone happen to have used them, maybe on another cruise?

Now it is so real!!

Thanks for the reassurances about the excursions. Some of the other threads have made me a bit anxious. I guess there is such a thing as too much information!

Well, today our final payment was posted, so all we have to do is wait to book the ressies and get on board! I can not wait. I am a high school teacher and and I'm literally counting the days of school. We sail one week after school is out. By the last week of school, I will have the countdown to hours and minutes

I would love to say hello to you all in person. I am totally up for a meet and greet.

I managed to finish up our reservations too.... We're doing a beach day in Maz and the outdoor adventure in PV. I already had all of our Palo stuff booked - just had to add the daughter and her boyfriend and finalize everything.

Definitely interested in the Meet and Greet!!!
