06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

ACK! Only 104 days to go, til the wedding. That means 111 days til the CRUISE! I don't know which to be more excited about! I'll be really excited, once this whole wedding fiasco is over and done with! It's a lot of work!

I can't remember whether I posted before, I don't think so and didn't want to read through 38 pages to see! It'll be me, DH, DS age 15, and DS age 11. We're flying in from MN. We did the 3 night DCL in 2004. We wanted to do mexican riviera because my aunt and uncle retired in Mazatlan. We thought this would be a fun cruise. It's hard to plan though, as compared to FL DCL cruises being this is only the second time it's sailed the mexican riviera.

I'm feeling very confused with trip planning. We were thinking about doing 3 or 4 days after the cruise to go to DL. We've done WDW many times but never DL. DH doesn't want to go after the cruise and we leave the day after the kids are out of school, so leaving earlier isn't an option. So I've gone full circle after many hours of research and am bummed to think we'll only do cruise. I think we'll plan a week vacation next year just to see So. Calif sights. There are so many I'd like to see!

I've been looking at our airfare for last couple of months and am bummed that the price hasn't come down much. Right now it's at 351.00 per person. Ouch. We fly to FL for under 200.00 each. I'm not sure if I should book now or hold off a bit.

Well, that's quite enough for now. I'm busy looking into pre-cruise hotels, transportation, and excursions. I'm thinking of zip line in PV and dolphin swim for the kids in Cabo. Mazatlan will be spent with my relatives. Did I read correctly that if the ship offers an excursion through the same company, I can't book it online directly at the site myself?

I was able to get two rooms for 144.84 through priceline pre-cruise. There is a shuttle from LAX to the hotel . Now I am working on getting from the hotel to the Port. Making final arrangements now. I am still waiting on airfare specials to come out for June.

Can I ask if you booked two room because of number in your party? I thought I had read priceline guarantees 2 per room but you may get lucky and get a room that sleeps more. There are 4 of us. I'd like to book one room at Crowne Plaza in San Pedro, but am nervous about doing that. Does anyone have any advice?

Welcome castle4us! I don't have any advice on the hotel except I reserved the Hyatt in the Orlando Airport a few years ago through Priceline and had no problem getting a room for 3.

Here's a link to the port if anyone is interested - http://www.pcsterminals.com/Default.aspx. There is info on parking and transportation. It looks like the Royal Caribbean Vision of the Seas will be leaving LA on the same day and then following the exact same itinerary. And here's another link for San Pedro - http://www.sanpedro.com/. Oh, and here's another good one - http://www.portoflosangeles.org/recreation_faq.htm.

Michelle, yes, generally it IS true that if the cruiselines are offering an excursion, then it normally can't be booked by individuals, but not always. Check online and see. There are a lot of companies that offer the same type of excursions....I'm almost always able to book for myself.

On this cruise, the ONE place we can only get to with the cruiseline is Las Caletas. And it's a lot of $$$. But it is a nice place to go.....

My husband wouldn't have been able to take off much time from work, and we wanted to stay at Disneyland afterward, so he was going to fly home right after the cruise while we continued on to DLand. Now it turns out, he isn't coming at all.
But that might be an option if you want to stay and he doesn't.

NOW you all know how I feel when trying to get to Florida for WDW or a cruise!!! HIGH airfare, pre-cruise hotel...and even a half day at the Orlando Hyatt because our flight home is always a late one.

That's why I LOVE that they have brought the Magic back over here again. Even if I have seen the Mexican Riviera before, it's worth it just to have DCL so close!!

Well, we are only 102 days away, and YOU still have no idea what you're wearing!

I'm getting the invitations sent out tomorrow though! I've still got this terrible feeling we're forgetting something important.

Marriage license? Nothing's more important than that. Lindsey & Mike forgot to take theirs to the church so someone had to go get it and we all had to wait. :rotfl:

Maybe in 102 days I'll lose weight and then I won't have so much trouble finding a dress. Maybe cows will fly, too!

Your concierge booking date is this Sunday....what spa treatments (if any) do you want? Do you want to go to Brunch one day? If you do, you're taking me!

We can't get the marriage license until 3 months before. I won't forget it.

Ooh.. Spa! We want to do the couples massage, and I want a facial and a pedicure. I told Dave to pick another one, in addition to our couples massage, but he didn't see anything else he'd like, other than another massage. Maybe the hot rock one?

Jay hated the couples' massage. Said he felt very silly in the little robe with nothing underneath...and it was small....:scared:

Hi all. My family just booked this cruise today. Travelers will be myself (Jeff-48), wife (Susan-46) and daughter (Katy-18). Our last cruise was June 2007 on the Magic in the Mediterranean. Skimming through the posts I see at least a couple familiar names...WMVD and LisaTex...who were on the same Med cruise. Perhaps we need a cool banner for this cruise. :)

:welcome: A banner would be cool!

Welcome Jeff and family!!

:welcome: :welcome:

We are friends of WVMD and his family....don't believe anything he might say about me....unless it's all good!

I wish we did have a banner, but I'm not creative enough to make one!

Welcome Jeff - A new Banner would be great! Jeff is obviously the artist who composed our Med Banner...

Things are getting closer - almost at the 105 day mark - need to finish paying so that I can make our ressies.

We are also going to be joined on the cruise by my daughter Kristin and her boyfriend (soon to be fiance) Nick. They will be 24 and 23 respectively at the time of the cruise. Don't have a room number for them yet as they have GTY.

My daughter Lauren is also bringing a friend, Emily, who will be also be 13 at cruise time.

We finalized our plans to stay at DisneyLand for a few days after the cruise. I'll try and post more in the coming weeks, life has just gotten in the way.

Explain to me why I don't have a life, but it STILL keeps getting in the way of fun stuff??? ;);)

Okay Jeff, you have our permission to create a banner for us! :worship:

Virgil, isn't Sunday the 105 day mark? Does that mean that we can book stuff online at midnight Saturday night? I'm doing the booking for Megan.....I don't have a suite this time. :sad1:

I don't have a whole lot of things to book for myself, anyway. Two DCL excursions...that's all. Maybe brunch at Palo, if I can't add mine to Megan's.
I don't plan on going to the spa this time (too much $$) and am not going to Palo, since I'd be all by myself. For some odd reason ;) ;) the honeymoon couple doesn't want me joining them at Palo!!

But I'm thinking the bookings open at 12:01 Eastern time (just after midnight Saturday) so that would be......10:01 (p.m. Saturday) my time???

CRUISE RELATED!!!!

I just booked transportation from the cruise to Disneyland and I had contacted several car companies (limos, town cars, etc) but only ONE company replied. I spoke to them on the phone today, and these guys are GREAT.

They will do pickup at any of the area airports, to Disneyland, to the port, from the port....anywhere you want to go....they can make stops (for food, liquor, etc)....and the cost was not bad at all.

Anyway.....if you're needing private (town cars up to giant Hummerzines) this is the company"
