06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Hello All!

I have not been on this thread since June - mostly on the Adventure by Disney thread - my trip is in two weeks!

The southwest splendor tour is a Disney tour through Sedona, Grand Canyon and Moab - It is all inclusive!!!

I will post a review when I return - I have heard that it is awesome!!!!!

Once I get back I will start the cruise countdown:banana:

Sara

That's all my territory...and it IS really beautiful. You're going to have a great trip!

Don't forget to post pictures too (please?) :goodvibes

Stacey, have a safe trip. :wave2: (do you think the 2008 DLR rates will be out soon? I'm about giving up on ever seeing 2008 rates for WDW! :confused3)

I've heard the first of September. Right now, they're booking through January. It always used to be one year in advance...don't know when they changed it. :confused3

Disneyland has opened it's bookings for the summer of 2008!

Anyone wanting to book a pre- or post cruise stay at the parks can now do it.

I've heard that you might get a better deal if you book your park stay as an "add-on" to your cruise. I wasn't smart enough to book mine that way, but I did save $230 by booking my post-cruise stay through AAA, rather than Disney Travel.

:yay: :yay: :yay:

 :woohoo:

I booked our flights coming in to Long Beach today! And our Super Shuttle to the port.

 :woohoo:

Did those on USAirways.....

I'll book our return flights out of Orange County on Southwest, when they open their bookings that far.

Since Jared and I will be staying for the Disneyland mini-meet, but Jay will most likely be going home, I thought I'd wait a while on the return stuff. At least I know that I have getting TO the ship all taken care of!!

Booked a "Downtown Disney" view at the Grand Californian for after the cruise.

It's getting to where it finally feels "REAL" Whoo hooooo!!:yay:

Hey Stacey -- what kind of rates did you get at the GC?? trying to decide if I want to use DVC points or not

:yay: It still seems so far away, but it'll be here before we know it!

Jay's not going to stay and play at DLR? :sad1:

Hey, Pam! Hope your back is all better. I haven't seen the 08 DLR points yet. Do you think they'll post them soon? I think we've pretty much decided we'll use points -- guess it'll depend on the new charts if we book a DTD view or standard view! :)

Hey Laura,

Back is a little better. still in some pain, but trying to weed off of the medication because all I want to do is sleep. I am anxious to see the point charts and think they should be out really soon. I am going to call the high school next week to see if they have set the graduation dates.

We also like the candy cane inn if the rates are too high. We plan on doing a So. California City Pass and go on and go to Universal Studios while we are there

If you have any information about Candy Cane Inn or the City Pass, would you please pass it along? I've got to do some research and get things lined up. No way we're flying all the way out there for 3 days!!! Just need to figure out what else we want to do! Thanks and I hope you're all better soon. pixiedust:

I guess I slept "funny" last night, because I have a pulled muscle in my back and it hurts to even move. So instead, I've been sitting here planning....flights, transportation, and now excursions. Obviously I can't do housework when my back hurts. At least, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!;)

Pam...I paid $2057.00 for the Downtown Disney view....for just Jared and I and our 4-Day Hoppers. I booked through AAA, and it was $200 cheaper than if I'd booked with Disney Travel. I swear, their prices are all higher because they know the ship is there!
But Virgil got a better deal by having his TA book his DLand stay as an add-on to the cruise. When I see him, I'm going to punch him for not telling me about doing that before I booked it myself!!

Not sure yet if Jay will stay or head back to work.....I can add him on later if I need to, or just buy him park tickets and let him sleep in my room. :rolleyes1 Sshh....don't tell......

If you're renting a car, you really HAVE to go out and tour the Queen Mary in Long Beach. It's awesome.
And there's always the San Diego Zoo....or get tickets for a TV show filming in Hollywood.....or Knott's Berry Farm.....or Universal Studios.....
LOTS to do!

:flower3: Hello everyone. I just finished booking our June 8th 2007 cruise. This will be our second Disney cruise, but our 7th cruise total. We actually live in Northern Ca... about 35 miles south of Sacramento. :cool2: And are MAJORLY excited that we dont' have to fly for 6+ hours. :p

The folks who are going will be as follows..

me... :upsidedow Rebecca 43, DH... Earl 42, DD...:cheer2: Jennah 11, DD....princess: Macy 8 and identical twin sons... :goodvibes Kasey & :goodvibes Kaleb who are 6 We have adjoining ocean view rooms on deck 2, not my first choice, :rolleyes1 but since we booked soooo late we had to take what they had left... :thumbsup2

Our first Disney cruise was last September and we did the Western Cribb. LOVED LOVED LOVED  Castawy Cay, but HATED the other stops... and could't figure out why we would even stop in Key West, but hey thats just my personal opnion. :rolleyes1

I can't wait to get to know all of you... Thanks for letting me introduce myself, and have a great Wednesday night.

:welcome: Rebecca!! :welcome:

What a great time to join in! We're just now feeling that we can actually start planning for this trip!!

Sounds like we'll have a full ship, even if we don't have a large group of DISers. Must be a lot of West Coasters.

And we're excited about not having to fly far, too!! :yay:

:goodvibes Thank you so much for the warm welcome. I think there wil be a ton of west coasters on every one of the weeks the ship is in Cali. I know A LOT of families that have always wanted to take/enjoy a Disney cruise, but if they leave from the East coast, they also have to add in to their vacation budget, MUCH higher air fare, at least one night stay over in a hotel, and the food for the time they spend not on the ship. I know that when we went last Sept, all of those add ons cost us an additional $1789.00:scared1:

I can't wait till next Saturday we will take all of the kids and our selves to apply for our very first passports, we are so excited. :cheer2: Well, I need to get going, have a meeting/dinner at church tonight. :)

Wow is this group always sooooo quite? I'm not used to this...last Sept's group was VERY busy...at least 10-25 post every day :thumbsup2 I hope I won't get on all your nerves with my posting to much? :confused3

On a :goodvibes happier note....tomorrow is the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL :teacher: I think I will be doing a GIANT happy dance :dance3: Let me tell you... being home for three months with four small ones and very little adult time can make anyone a little pirate: :scared: and :scared1: but my tomorrow morning at this time I will be feeling more like this :cheer2: and :cloud9:

I hope you all have a nice morning...I will post more this afternoon. :grouphug: to you all.

Rebecca, I know how you feel....my very talkative 14 yr old son started back to school and it's so quiet here now. My 17 yr old daughter is finishing high school from home, but she's really quiet so it doesn't bother me.

Nope, usually we are a pretty chatty bunch, but we're all finishing up summer activities and I have a cruise for Christmas that I'm still trying to plan.

I don't think we have very many DISers on this cruise, either, so that makes a difference.

party: GUESS WHAT TODAY IS??? THE FIRST DAY BACK TO SCHOOL FOR ALL MY KIDS :thumbsup2 EVERYBODY :dance3: DANCE WITH ME.. :rotfl2: Sorry just had to share.... Hope you are all having a great Monday. :goodvibes

 I have a question, and hopefully one of you can answer for me. On our last cruise we tried Palo for dinner, but HATED it...:crazy2: but a friend of ours said the brunch is much diffrent/better  ....does anyone know when and what time the brunch is? Also if anyone has done the brunch would love to hear any feedback popcorn:: Have an awesome Monday. :flower3:

I have to honestly say that I don't think the dinner there is anything special, either. My husband won't go anymore, he likes staying with our regular servers. The only thing I've had for dinner up there is the filet, and while it's good....it isn't worth the reservation hassle.

We've done Brunch several times, and YES...I wouldn't miss that!

I want to say that on the Mexican Riviera cruise, it will be held on the first morning at sea....by looking back at my pictures...but that can't be right. It must have been while we were at sea on our way back. It's always a sea day. And it usually starts at about 10:00 a.m.

They have everything to choose from....breakfast foods, like made-to-roder omelets to lunch....fresh shrimp, pizzas......too much to even describe.

And I wouldn't miss it for the world!!

:thanks: Thank you so much...I was sooo :scared1: affraid that I would have to don a flame suit... soooo many folks RAVE  about Palo's that they might think I needed some major help upstairs :rotfl: My second :flower3: question would be, can you make reservations prior to sailing? :confused3 Thank you again :grouphug: Have a great Monday afternoon.
