Welcome back from your cruise! Glad to hear you & John had fun. I was in Colorado when I heard about the couple overboard, but I see you missed all that excitement!!


Stacey, glad you and the kids had a good trip to DL. I think your timing was good too. Right after you left, the weather in Southern Cal got violent.


Well, "if" I got the correct information from my son - his and Katherine's wedding will be May 31, 2008; meaning we won't have to cancel our cruise! I still need to verify this with Katherine, however!!

leaning toward DL Hotel...Nostalgia reasons - never stayed there and the both times I went to DL - one of them was with A-E tickets I always wished I could stay ...

Well, looks like we may not make it afterall to the get together at DL. School calendar is published. The last day of school is June 6. I called to find out about graduation and they told me either june 9 or 10. I hate that the government had to get involved in our school calendars.

I also can't believe that my "little boy" will graduate from high school next year.

Monica -- I have stayed at all three at DL and like each of them for different reasons. The last time we were there we tried the Grand Californian and loved it. We had a theme park view of Grizzly Mountain and we could hear the water running at night. That was pretty cool. Love the pool area at the DL hotel better than one at the GC.

I've only stayed at the DL Hotel and unless we can get a "great rate" at GC , we'll probably stay at DL Hotel again.


I always ran out of D & E tickets - had all my A-C's left!!

Thanks Pam for your input on hotels, Unless Stacey and Laura changed the date on me - we're meeting them after their cruise. I think they get off the ship on Sunday 6/15...

Hi guys! I've been playing catch up, and have had some major headaches since I got back, so I haven't been on too much. I got one pair of my new glasses, but not the other, so if I switch between the two (which I have to do sometimes) it gives me a headache that just doesn't want to go away.

We had a fantastic time, and the best room at the Disneyland Hotel that we've ever had. The longer walk to that hotel wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but with the kids being older, we took our time in the parks, so I wasn't as wiped out as usual. I think the longer walk was worth the money saved by staying there and not at the GC. But we went and ate at the GC one night, and I'd forgotten how much I really like that hotel too. So now I can't decide where I want to stay next time!!
The DLand Hotel definitely has the best Character restaurant.....even the teens had fun in there one night. And yes, they liked the pool better, too. We got lucky and got a corner room in the Bonita Tower, so we had a view of Disneyland Park, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney!
Definitely lucky weather-wise...it was absolutely perfect the whole time we were there.

As it rightfully should be! We'll have to make sure that they are doing Fantasmic during the week in the summer. In the winter, it's only on Friday and Saturday. They weren't doing it at all when we were there, since they're working on Tom Sawyer Island.
And definitely the balcony! It was Walt's apartment.

Depending on when it's held will depend on when we arrive. I'm also desperately hoping for the Main Street Electrical Light Parade, too! I miss the classic!

Monica -- Thanks for the clarification. I wasn't thinking straight about the dates. We may be able to make it, but I need to wait to see what dates Dale will be going to Washington, DC that summer. This summer is going to be consumed with swimming and college visits.

Stacey -- looks like we will be in the Phoenix area over Memorial Day weekend. There is a big meet that will be held at the ASU pool, as well as the Cactus Pool in Scottsdale. Ashley will swim in the mornings at the cactus pool and then if she makes finals, will swim in the evenings at the ASU pool. I want to go to this meet, because my brother has an apartment with an extra bedroom in Tempe and I can stay for *free*. The following weekend there is a meet in Tucson, and Ashley may stay the week for swim camp. The weekend after that there is a meet in Lubbock and then a local meet. We will then have two weeks off before our big meet here in town. 10 days after that we have to leave for Austin for the State Championships (July 18-22) Found out that the coaches think Ashley will be chosen for the Zones team which will compete in Houston August 1-5. Pretty much every out of town trip I am going to try and coordinate with a college visit.

Dale wants to go to check out ASU, UofA, Rice, Texas A&M and a couple of others.

Keep me posted of DL plans. if we are able to go, we will probably use some DVC points and stay at one of the hotels on site. MOre than likely DL because of point value, etc. My other favorite off-site hotel is the Candy Cane Inn.

Did you guys see that Diana and family are going to try to come over and meet us after the cruise, too? We'll have a great group. I talked to Diana about getting balcony seats for all of us for Fantasmic, most likely on Monday night. I think we have enough that we can fill the whole thing!

The Electrical Light Parade is being done at California Adventure now. I just love it. I'd forgotten how much that music gets under your skin. For some, in a bad way, for me, in a good way!

Hey, no problem Stacey. Turks and Caicos sounds like fun. I notice some of the other cruise lines are starting to make stops there. Have you been before?

The Fantasmic thing sounds great. Do you have connections. I always heard that was extremely difficult to get.

Of course, we really can't make plans yet until I see what date they set Dale's high school graduation. I just can't believe how time is flying.

Some cruises stop in Grand Turk....on the Turks Island. We're spending a week on Providenciales, Caicos Islands. Never been there, but I've been wanting to for a long time.

No, I don't have an "in" for the balcony dining. Wish I did! But if we call early, we shouldn't have a problem. I want to say that we are allowed to buy 8 tickets....maybe it's six....so we'd only need two of us to make the calls.

Is this accurate or am I missing someone or including someone I shouldn't? If it is accurate, that is a minimum of 18 of us. How many does the balcony sit? I have never done it, so not sure of how many.
