05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

So, we arrived back in New Mexico to wind and 68 degrees last Saturday. We were all ready to turn back to Florida. Keep wondering where our beautiful weather was (I know, Castaway Cay! :rotfl2:) Laundry is almost done but still haven't managed to put away all the wonderful FE gifts. Hannah loved checking the pockets everytime we returned to the cabin. I will say, neither myself nor my friend got any of the chocolate or other goodies! I'm ready to begin planning the next vacation, but I think this time we are headed back to Disneyland. I want to wait a couple years before our next cruise. It may take me that long to scrapbook all the pictures I took (last count was over 900).

I really enjoyed meeting all of you that I got to (which was far too few):

Kristin - your girls were a God send, Hannah really loved playing with both of them, and then running into each other in the airport, a great way to end our trip.

Debi & Cal - we loved getting to know you both! And yes, I'll try and get Lynette on the boards soon!

And a special bonjour goes out to a little girl named Lilou - it seemed we ran into her and her mommy every where we were (including the Orlando airport on the way home!) That smile sure brightened the day.

Hope to cruise with all of you again in the future. If anyone plans a trip to Albuquerque, give me a shout.

Jennifer

2 questions::confused3

1) has anyone taken off their green bracelets yet? (not me)

2) is anyone doing a trip report?

I'm still wearing mine - mainly because the Jamaican color combination with my Livestrong bracelet is jah irie, mon.

I have decided to write a trip report, but won't post until it's complete. I wouldn't want it to tail off after hooking you all in with my wit and wisdom...that would be evil.
Expect it early next week as I'll try and finish it this weekend.

Talk to you soon!

I think I am going to check myself into rehab because trying to come down off the high of our most magical cruise yet is way too hard on me! Seriously, I don’t think there is any way I will be able to not cruise in 2011:sick: I thought we may do 2012 instead but I don’t think I can hold out. It’s a sweet drug DCL has invented I tell ya'!

I almost caved when I saw the onboard credit offer DCL just announced for this summer and booked a short cruise for DW and myself. Luckily (not so much) DW reminded me how much we just spent on the last one so I held off! :rolleyes1

We arrived home to Vermont last night after another great (but very wet but that is why they invented ponchos) week at WDW. My wife's best friend flew down from Vermont to spend the week with us.

We had a great time and really enjoyed the FE gifts. Some of you are WAY to talented.:thumbsup2

Although we didn't get a chance to meet all of you, we had a great time with the other famous Steve :rolleyes1 and I know my DW had a lot of fun handing out the glow sticks on Pirates Night.

We booked the 14 day repo cruise next April. Just couldn't resist. We are taking advantage of the $99.00 bounce back offer that we recieved in February going on the 3 day on November 19th. Not sure I can go another 6 months without my Disney fix, but I'll make the best of it.

Take care and have a wonderful summer.

Anyone ever stay in the sideways staterooms? Know which rooms they are?

I never have but a friend did a few years ago. I believe they are all on decks 5 and 6 forward. They are all inside cabins if I'm not mistaken.

We're finally getting caught up with everything at home and work. I'm not going to lie, I took a liking to just getting up and leaving the restaurants without paying. I haven't tried that since we got home but I suspect it wouldn't be as accepted as on the Magic. ;) I'm also curious to try standing up, shouting, and twirling my napkin over my head at the local Denny's.

I've also been really disappointed to return home every evening to not find any cool gifts but only bills and credit card applications.

We didn't book a cruise while onboard and we may wait a couple of years before booking on a Disney ship again. There is nothing better in our experience but the cost and limited itineraries make it tough. We will probably do a 4 or 7 night Royal Caribbean (I know, blasphemous) here on the west coast to save some $$$ and make sure Emma will actually stay in the kids' clubs before we sail with Disney again. I'm also really itching to sail Alaska again.

Sorry for the double post. I just looked them up and they appear to be:

5001, 5005, 5009, 5013
5501, 5505, 5509, 5513
6003, 6007, 6011, 6015, 6019
6503, 6507, 6511, 6515, 6521

Hope this helps!

Just thought I would post a post cruise hello!

We had a fantastic time, seems everyone else did too! Sorry we didnt meet many of yous, maybe because we spent most of our time quietly chilling in Adult's area or Sessions. We had late dining and seemed to be always last out as we chatted a lot! And kept forgetting to wear our green bands, kept taking them off for formal photos as they didnt match my dresses too well, then forgetting to put them back on!:sad1:
A quick thanks to the 2 families who left us little gifts even though we had chosen not to paticipate in the FE. It was a lovely gesture and we were well touched. Thanks to both.
We have booked the Western 14n Transatlantic in Sept 2010 and are looking forward to that. The main planning challenge appears to be one way transatlantic air fares, so far very scary looking :scared1:
Loads of photos to sort through, its taking forever! I will eventually upload to my Facebook and Photobucket. Have scanned our Shutters pics already, they are always so well done aren't they!
Thanks to everyone for the company in the planning stages, you were a great group! :goodvibes
I might get around to a trip report if I have time, and will certainly enjoy reading everyone else's!:surfweb:
We certainly had very few if hardly any few grumbles about the whole experince, and it well met our expectations absoulutely in every way. Cant wait for a next time

Regards
Lyn and Bob

I hear you about pricing. We did book onboard with plans to do a 7-night cruise in 2011. However, when the pricing comes out later this year we will have to see what it looks like. If they bump up pricing a lot more then we just paid, we may opt for a Royal Caribbean cruise.

I am with you on this. We were actually looking at the options with and without children. In the end, common sense and credit card bills convinced us to wait.:sad1:

So I have made an attempt to start a trip report. I am not feeling as motivated as Jeremy and will therefore post in pieces. Feel free to stop by and make any comments or corrections.

Ha - motivated?? :)
I only wish!

I got several pages in and then ended up back at work...and really busy. I'm trying to do a bit each day, but sheesh.
Anyway, great start to your trip report man! Can't wait to see if we make it back to port safely! ;)

Keep it up!

I hear you on the work thing. It's not like I totally ignored everything before I left.

I have a feeling this may be a slooowww report. Hopefully I can finish before one of us goes on another cruise. :coffee:

I can't believe it has already been 1 month since we set sail!! We sure do miss it and talk about it all the time! We cant wait for our next one. All it took was one Disney cruise for me to get hooked! :scared1: I hope everyone is doing well. God bless :thumbsup2

Today marks 1 year since we all set sail on the Disney Magic...hope all is well with everyone!! :)

Wow...seems like only yesterday. I will be back on the Magic in less than a month AND in the same cabin as last year! Hope every one is doing well!

Happy Anniversary everyone! We had a great trip and met some awesome people. I hope everyone is doing well.

Don, Steve, Sid - Happy anniversary to us all. I'm getting on the Wonder in 5 weeks...same stateroom there, too! Can't wait!
Our cruise last year was terrific and I sure hope that we can all enjoy time together again in future...maybe on the Dream!!
Best,
J
