05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

we only have 1/2 of our cruise packs. we have 2 rooms and we received my husband and ond oldest sons stuff. I'm assuming we'll get the other half today or tomorrow

No docs here in Albuquerque either. I freaked out a little yesterday when I realized there were only 3 weekends left before we leave. Seems like we have been waiting so long for this (booked last July) and now it is right around the corner. So much to do, so little time.

On a different note, I know there was a discussion around getting together sometime as a group and Saturday night was nixed. As any other date/time been suggested?

Have a question for who ever... Got our packet :cool1: as did my SIL she asked me a ? and I don't know the answer so I'm throwing out there to all of you. In our "Travel booklet" on the page that says CRUISE INFORMATION on top right corner, everything says $.00 except GVMT TAXES & FEES there's an amount then at the bottom it says next to TOTAL CHARGES :CONTRACT RATE. I thinks thats because we booked threw DVC. so....... Here's my ?? (finally) do we still owe that amount (the taxes) or are they just saying what we already payed?:confused3:confused3:confused3:confused3:

Not sure if I'm answering your question correctly. But next to my total charges is the sum of the fare and the gvmt taxes and fees. I don't think you still owe that amount if you've already paid it full. They just list it there to itemize everything.

Well the post man was a little good to me today he brought me Kenny Chesney!!!! DH asked what I wanted for my birthday and I said Kenny.... Floor sheets I'm sooo excited!:cool1:

steve- do you run lots of marathons? I'm just starting. I ran the NIKE women's marathon in san fran the last 2 years. now I only did 1/2 but that was plenty, someday I hope do do a full.

Hi Jen,

Wow, if you did the Nike half twice, you are doing much better than I am! I've only been running a little more than a year. It's more of a mid-life crisis thing for me but I have a lot of fun with it.

I've competed in a lot of races but they were mostly 5 and 10K's. I ran my first half marathon in October but haven't done a full yet. I'm saving that for WDW in January. That will probably be my one and only full marathon as I think that's just way too long for me. After two hours, I just don't want to be out there anymore! I won't be paying much attention to the time at WDW Marathon as I will be too busy stopping for pictures and video and just want to absorb that amazing experience.

You must have some really beautiful places to run around your neck of the woods. Are there very many local races?

Okay - I watched the DIY show with my family and I have to be honest - I was disappointed. If you are REALLY into pressure washers that take paint off the boat then this show is for you. I enjoyed it a little bit since it was really cool to see the effort that goes into making a great cruise experience, but was really looking for more stuff on the finished product. I wanted my sneak preview of the new Mickey pool!!!

However, as you all know, I am a Disney freak. So I will admit that I will most likely watch it the next time it's on just because it says "Disney Magic" in the title! It may well become just like Office Space - every time it's on, I can't help but stop flipping channels and settle in!

Still awaiting cruise docs - may pass out from overexcitement - please someone pass me a xanax!:scared::eek::scared::eek::scared::eek:

I am one of the weird people who likes to see things built and the workings behind the scenes, so I would probably think it was cool. Of course I could see the frustration of not seeing the final product.

Sounds like another marketing ploy to get people interested and excited about taking a cruise. Like we needed any help!!!

Can you tell me what pg the link was on for the FE list. I want to print off a new copy. I'm either half blind or to tired to see it.
Thanks
Eva

Docs came today by UPS with no signature required. Nothing overly exciting except luggage tags since we are doing most things (transport, insurance, etc) on our own. Of course just getting the package is exciting since it signals that much closer to vacation time!! :woohoo:

There were no Bahama forms either, which I thought were in the packet last time. Does anyone know if these are still required?

Yeah I am soooo glad that everybody is getting their Docs... :cool1: I went online last night and I did all of our online checkin info and I printed it all up at work. I guess that is what us crazy Disney Folks do... Hehehe.. I am trying to decide if I am going to take and use our computer on the cruise. Anyone else going to take theirs? We used the wireless on the Wonder and it wasn't too bad, but I ma not sure if I want to be that attached to the real world... LOL

We usually take our laptop as it serves as a DVD player when we travel; backup for any information we forgot to print; a place to backup, save, and share photos; and a usb charging station for various electronics.

I might try to use the internet this time since it is not only Mother's Day and DW birthday while we are cruising, but it is also my mom's birthday. I don't think I want the roaming charge from the middle of the Caribbean. :scared1:

Yeah we used our iphone last time as a way to stay in touch with the lady that was watching our cat. He had been really sick right before we left, but luckily he was great while we were away and gave us a way to stay in touch.

We got our docs today. They were just left on the side porch - no signature. It was nice to look on the luggage tags and see the Cat. 9 printed there (we had booked the gty. cat. 12).

I bought some paper today and ink for my computer so that I can work on making my door signs. Of course, I have my FE gifts to finish. I think there are 27 cabins. Please let me know if that is not the right count. I have made 9 of my gifts and 18 more to go. Oh my, I need to get those done, don't I?

Oh, and ladies - I found some good deals today at Chicos. The lady at the register who tried to figure out my return and the coupons that I had and the new purchase said she was doing "Chiconomics."

I went to the Disney Outlet yesterday and didn't really find anything but a couple of bags (you know the kind you carry purchases in that are fabric- like you buy at the grocery store.) They are too cute. One is for Earth Day. We should be able to see the Disney Earth movie while on board. Oh, the fun.

We got half our docs today...my in-laws received theirs but we did not get ours and we only live 1 block away!!! :scared1:

I always take a laptop on hols so I can backup raw photo files, but prob won't pay for wifi on the cruise as its quite pricey. Besides which my DH has threatened me spending money penalties if I so much as mention Facebook or Messenger for the whole trip :scared1:
As the internet is normally my umbilical cord........lol might have withdrawal symptoms (but we will have free wifi for first part of hols, and there's always Mickey D's or Starbucks; and the free wifi at MCO from Hyatt)
Have just bought a new Notebook so will be taking that this time rather than full size laptop. And i'll be keeping a trip journal.....maybe to turn into a trip report with pictures later:)
