05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

:goodvibes
You sure do deserve this holiday Hope your luck is now on the up and up
Hi everybody.... Well I am just starting to catch up on here because I was without a computer for almost a week. My DH 9 year old sony VIO died on us this past weekend so we had to go out and buy a new Laptop. Not that I am so upset about finally getting a new machine.

This week has been a bit of a mess. Our Apartment flooded on Sat for the 2nd time in 2 weeks and that was the 8th time since we moved in 3 years ago. On Thursday my poor little Toy Rat Terrier was bit by another dog in our neighborhood. She's OK but she did lose a chunk outta her poor tiny little ear. Then I go to the tanning bad that same day and I tell them to put it on for 4 minutes beacause I am sooooo fair skinned. What does the girl do she puts it on 10. Luckily I figured out that it had been the longest 4 minutes in history, but I still got a bit toasty. Then we find out the computer is dead, adn to wind up that day my car alarm starts going off at 4:30 AM and it is a forced entry alarm on a Mustang. It was just an all around tough week.

Now on to the good stuff. It's time for the 30 day DANCE!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Now to go and see if we are still in the same room...

Oh man I hope that all is well and that everything is looking up!

I first want to say I am soooo sorry again for not getting the fe list up again last night! I know that a lot of you want to put the final touches on you Fe gifts but I promise I have a good reason.... MY DH TOOK ME ON A DATE!!!:cool1::cool1: And this was not just any date it was a dinner and dress shopping date. No kids, no complaining about how long it was taking, no complaining about how many store I wanted to go to or even how many dresses I tried on!! I have to say he was a great help!:lovestruc I was able to find one that I really like that I will be able to wear to a wedding that we are attending right before the trip and also on semi formal night. I still have to find one for formal night and shoes to match but its a start!

I am going to work on the fe list right now and have it up very soon.

My DW asked me to figure out how many Boys and Girls were in the FE group so I ran thru the list and the breakdown is below. I do have a few differences in the age groups, likely because I went on the basis if they were not fully at the age of the next group up I left the child placed in the lower age bracket- for example, a 3.8 year old I kept in the 3 year old group.
I also couldnt find the second child with a missing age so I have 39 kids total?

39 Kids

1yo or younger: 6 total-- 3 Boy, 3 Girl
2yo: 2 total-- 1 Boy, 1 Girl
3yo: 6 total-- 3 Boy, 3 Girl
4yo: 3 total-- 1 Boy, 2 Girl
5yo: 5 total-- 3 Boy, 2 Girl
6yo: 4 total-- 2 Boy, 2 Girl
7yo: 4 total-- 0 Boy, 4 Girl
8yo: 4 total-- 1 Boy, 3 Girl
10yo: 1 total-- 1 Boy, 0 Girl
11yo: 2 total-- 1 Boy, 1 Girl
12yo: 1 total-- 0 Boy, 1 Girl
14yo: 1 total-- 1 Boy, 0 Girl

*I only noticed one child without age listed on the FE list but found their age from the front page- it was Hannah (NMDisneyMom’s DD) and it shows age of 4 so I added her in that group above.

Anyone, please feel free to correct any errors I listed! :)

I think we are on the same track.

Valerie

For those of you still looking at renting a car to and from Orlando Airport and Port Canaveral:

As of today at 11:45 this is what is I've come up with.

FROM: MCO to Port Canaveral

Thrifty: Wild Car (mid or larger) $64.34
Full $69.63

This is with a 10% discount if you use an American Express Card

Budget: Mid $46.65
Full $49.65

Costco Travel site with a free up-grade from either class.

Avis: Mid $49.25
Full $51.12

Costco Travel site with a free up-grade from either class.

FROM: Port Canaveral to MCO

Thrifty: Compact $51.89
Intermediate $78.61
Full $61.44

This is with a 10% discount if you use an American Express Card

Budget: Mid $82.51
Full $87.28

Costco Travel site with a free up-grade from either class.

Avis: Mid $91.94
Full $95.97

Costco Travel site with a free up-grade from either class.

If you are staying from a full week prior to the cruise, Thrifty is the least expensive at $177.59 for the week. (wild car choice).

I've tried other discount codes, and Costco is the best. I always rent through Costco and have never had to show my membership card at MCO. Don't know how about Port Canaveral.

Hey guys,
This isn't related to our cruise, but you're all my Disney buds. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Woot.com, but they sell one item at massive discounts per day...it's kind of like the Barney's sale of the internet. Today's deal, which can sell out at any time is an actual 1978 boxed set of Walt Disney records and a 52-pg. book!! It's all Disney soundtracks and goodness for only $15.99. And yes, they're actual records...and this is the actual 1978 product, not a rerelease or a remastering!
I just bought mine - check it out: http://www.woot.com/
Pretty cool! :cool1::thumbsup2
Apparently whether they sell out or not, the sale ends at midnight tonight...so don't delay if you want this.

Hyatt/Hotwire

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If anyone is considering Hyatt MCO for pre-cruise stay and hasnt locked into a price (like myself with a Stay Cert), it looks like Hotwire has it back on there for $76 plus tax/fee so just under $100 for the night before.

Scottie, I must have missed it, now only showing the other 4 star.:sad1:

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. The apartment is almost back to normal, I got a nice new computer, and the doggie is doing much better. I guess that all bad things can have a bright side. I am just keeping my thoughts towards the future and all the great times that we will all have on the cruise. I am sooooo ready to go although I have to admit that I have gotten pretty much nothing done yet. I need to get my FE gifts! For that matter I need to get a new FE. I am not going to fret yet, because for me a month gives me plenty of time. I haven't seen my grandmother since Feb. so I can't wait to get to spend a whole week with her on the ship. :rotfl:

I love Woot. Was thinking of getting this set, but I wish someone had a track list of the theme park music. It just says "Music from the Magic Kingdom" or something.

Hey Sagbrook... I am in Newtown, CT.. we are neighbors :)
Our first Disney cruise also. We are heading down to Hyatt on 5/8. Didn't want DGS to miss another day of school so we are heading out late afternoon on SW. Hoping we still have time for swim. I understand they have a rooftop pool. Can't wait for some warm weather. Hasn't this 'spring' been awful except for a really few nice days.

I see it on there again (or what should be it). Maybe the party size you are searching under isnt allowing it to come up? Do a search under two adults and two kids for the party. It should be the top one listed: 4-star hotel in Orlando Intl Airport MCO @ $76. If you click on it you should see the TripAdvisor Rating a bit down the screen and it shows 140+ Customer Reviews 4.5 out of 5. Everyone claims this TA rating and number of reviews is the key to knowing it is the Hyatt and not one of the other 4 Stars. I have never done it before for Hyatt MCO so not sure... just going off what I have been reading :goodvibes

Any bargains that anyone has seen for the day of disembarkment? DH is of the view that we should visit Downtown, go shopping etc..then move on to MCO.........but I want a day room to swim and relax and shower before the flight back to UK. Depends on the price tho..with the exchange rate..its not too good a deal for us...:sad2:
Can I persuade HIM?

I think that the room is a great idea. That is one heck of a flight and it would great to be fresh and relaxed on the way home. Not all stressed from trying to shove more stuff in. Sad thing is as I say this I am trying to convinence my DH to stay @ WDW the night after the cruise, but I think he wants to get home and rest that night and the next day before we go back to work.

Hyatt MCO offers a discounted Day Room, but I dont think you can get it lower then the price Hyatt offers it for (not sure what that price is). I think Jen (Royfam) may have booked a day room for the way home.

If you havent seen it yet, the Project Extreme premier epsiode will be on again tomorrow at 7pm ET on DIY Network. It tracks the most recent Dry Dock rehab our our beauty, the DCL Magic. Neat to see all the work they put into fixing up the ship for us this past fall! :)
