05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

The nice thing about getting items like this cheap is that you can throw it away so that you don't have to worry about packing it up. Then you are not out but a few dollars. Great idea, Scottie.

Exactly what we did last cruise! We simply left the shoe organizer in the room instead of packing it back up.

Wow.

I take a trip out to Disneyland and you guys have been talking up a storm...over 1000 posts now!

The bracelets look great!

It looks like we will be spending an extra two nights at Port Orleans Riverside after the cruise now. I was able to get it Interline for 3 adults at around $130 a night, all in. Plus included a free round of mini golf or admission to DWWS for everyone. Now I still have to figure out where we are staying Friday night...

Hope you had fun in DL!! We had our two night stay after the cruise narrowed down to Port Orleans and Animal Kingdom Lodge. We ended up with AKL, though I do love Port Orleans! Feel free to come join our tiny group at Hyatt MCO for the night before the cruise. :)

I just found this roll call for the upcoming Magic Eastern cruise on 5/9/09. Just wanted to introduce us:

My husband, Tim, and I will be taking our first Disney cruise on the Magic on May 9th. We've been on Princess a several times, as well as RCI and Celebrity, so we've cruised before, just not with Disney.

I was in a serious motorcycle accident on August 31st, and I'm still recovering (still not working). We had to cancel our scheduled Disney trip in January 09, because of my recovery. Because we had to cancel, we ended up with a ton of DVC points to use up before August, so decided to try a Disney cruise!

It's just the two of us (Tim is 54, I'm 43) - we don't have any kids, so plan to stick to the adults only sections of the ship as much as we can. We're currently booked for late seating, waitlisted for early, though I may just take the late seating, hoping to avoid smaller children in the dining room.

We're spending the night before at Beach Club Villas - looking forward to using the great pool there on Friday afternoon, and eating at Beaches and Cream, one of our favorite Disney restaurants. I'm now trying to decide between using DCL transportation to the ship, renting a car, or just booking our own town car to get there earlier. Leaning towards the town car, to tell you the truth, want to start our cruise as soon/early as possible!

Can someone tell me hjow I can get a couple of the bracelets for this cruise? Happy to pay via PayPal or however else, but didn't find info on how to order these bracelets in teh thread (though I did not read every page, this thread is over 68 pages long!).

Oh, we're in room 6582.

Thanks, and looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Jill in Auburn MA

Yes, Welcome Aboard!!

Sorry to hear about your accident... but thats great news you are healing up and can get some rest on the Magic soon (not soon enough)!

Yummmm... please have a sunday for me at Beaches and Cream, I love that place too! popcorn::

I would imagine the towncar will allow you to get to port a good hour or two earlier then the DCL bus (dont quote me on that), and on the ship before the rest of the crew from BeachClub arrives on the bus... nothing wrong with that:thumbsup2

As for the bracelets, I will be happy to check to see if the company included any extras in the order we placed and I will be happy to let you know if I find two for you.

Happy Sailing!
Scott

What's Interline, if I may ask??

Interline rates are available for people employed in the travel/tourism industry as well as some cargo companies. I was actually able to use the Interline rate on this cruise. I rebooked onboard to a Cat. 10 in December. The interline rate then came available and was able to cut the total cost by $600 and move from a Cat. 10 to a Cat. 5!!! The other nice thing about the DCL Interline rates is that tips are included in the price. So, not only did I save the money and get an upgrade, I got the tips for the week included as well. Not too shabby, I thought!:cool1:

Well I took everyones advice and after 2 hrs in line, one crying baby, a 4 year old that had to go potty and 370.00 we will have pass ports in 4-6 weeks!!! I do feel alot better knowing that if something goes wrong I will have no problem getting back home.

I have decided what I wanted to do for the FE Exchange but my only draw back it it is more adult orientated and will will take some time to do as well as money. I kinda feel like I'm cheating the kids unless I can come up with something small to do for them. Do you think it is wrong to make just one Family Gift?:confused3

Heres keeping fingers crossed your passports will arrive sooner rather than later! :)

Good question on the FE exchange. I have not been involved in one in the past so I have no first-hand knowledge but I would say if it is a family type gift that is ok too. If you would like to include something more specific for the children, I guess you could consider a stuffer of some sort that you could buy in bulk and that wont drain your wallet... like something from orientaltrading.com or the such?
Im sure your gift you are planning will be a big hit! :thumbsup2

Yeah - I think the kids will enjoy ANYTHING since we'll be lucky if they even remember the gifts with all the cool stuff they'll be doing on this cruise. Each of us should only feel obligated to do what we can afford to do - remember, it's not the gift, but the thought that counts.

That said, are you guys okay with me just leaving one of the keys to your new Maseratis in the fish extenders? It's already hard enough to get those things through TSA at the airport...:rolleyes1
It's not like I can get all four tires in a little ziploc bag or anything!
LOL.
