04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Is anyone doing Vancouver after the Repo cruise? We are for 2 days then home.

I'm looking at the Grouse Mountain zip line. Has anyone done this? We are first time zip liners....

Right now plans are:
one day at Grouse Mountain: zip line, eye of the wind
one day at Capilano Bridge: walk the suspension bridge :scared1:

Any thoughts?

Well our TA (who I worship) did well for us. Here's what we were able to book:

Ok, here is what we have……

4/29/12 - Hawaii -category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship

8/10/12 - 2-night cruise from NYC - category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship
B2B with
8/12/12 - Canada/New England out of NYC – category 5B – cabin 6062 – mid-ship

So we got everything we want. We're DEFINITELY doing the NYC cruises....Hawaii is a bit more up in the air but we wanted to make sure we had it booked just in case...and good thing, too, since the DCL agent told our TA that it's been a madhouse with bookings and some stateroom categories are already sold out....and that the whole ship may sell out in a matter of days with only Platinum and Gold cruisers!! Another friend of ours who does our own bookings was on hold for nearly 2 hours this morning and got shut out of all their favorite cabins, too....so she confirmed that the Hawaii ship is clearly a very popular one! So we're glad we're aboard for the time being at least!

Sounds like so much fun. We would love to do the Hawaii but it leaves just the month after we do the MV on the Fantasy. The New York/Canada ones would be fun too. I like the idea of BTB cruises from New York....
since we have 2 cruise already planned after this one I have to really think... well if it was up to me we would never get off the ship and just live on it...but they don't allow that! ;)
congrats on your bookings....

Yeah Jason was kind of hard sell on these, too, but I can usually get him to do what I want! :lmao: We have the repo and Alaska booked....a 4-Night Dream in September...then Hawaii and the NYC B2B for next year. Of course the first thing Jason did was add up our total due for the next 4 cruises which aren't paid off yet (repo & Alaska are paid in full obviously)....and pointed out what a huge chunk of our house mortgage we could have paid off if we skipped these cruises. I was having NONE of that obviously, however....so away we go!!!:thumbsup2

Are you doing the grouse mountain combo package (zip line, eye of wind tour, GA) for $115/person?
What are your takes on Stanley park? I'm thinking I'd rather do Capilano bridge/park than Stanley park. What do you think?

We are doing Vancouver afterwards as well. Not sure what we're doing yet, but your ideas sound perfect! They are definitely something I would like to do! I'll post once we figure out what we're doing.

Yeah...we aren't actually sure we can DO the trip, but our TA has been given instructions that the second bookings open to move one of our sets of dummy dates to the Hawaii trip and the other to do a B2B with one of the 2night weekends from NYC (8/10) connected to one of the 5 night Nova Scotia trips (8/12).....which we'll then follow with a theater weekend in NYC to. (We're from upstate NY so getting to NYC is a 1 hour, $59 Jet Blue flight usually....so you can't really go wrong there for us!!

The NY sailing ports look so interesting - I was advised by someone to do those on Holland, so good for you! Flying to NY is a consideration for us, though. I think I will want the next cruise to be a warm one. :goodvibes

Taxes filed!!:cool1: So DH gave his ok for me to head west for opening day in SF. Hopefully they do better than they have been. Leaving DH and the "girls" to finish our FE. I am lucky DH is a graphic designer!
Have a great 6 days everyone I will check-in when I return on the 13th which will be 14 days before the trip!
Sue

Have a great time! Nice way to make the time go faster!:thumbsup2

Congrats on getting everything you wanted!:banana::banana:

Looks like I probably won't have to decide what to do, since we are only Silver. Jim pretty much ixnayed booking anything else right now - the call of being sure we can take those kids and grandkids to WDW is really strong! I told him we'll see what happens. I usually get my way, too!;)

I have disboard member Fanmanwdw listed in cabin 5512. They have not posted anything since January and do not have enough posts to PM. Disney now shows that cabin available for purchase. Either they changed cabins or canceled.
Does anybody know them or has anybody heard from them?
Thanks!

I am doing well. Excited for the trip to start, I have so much to do but it still seems so far away.

I hope that everyone is doing well.

Is anyone interested in doing a meet up during the first day of the cruise around 2:30pm at Promenade Lounge?

I will be on deck 10 with Ken at that time. He's passing out laynards, I'm passing out FE rosters, Cayla is passing out something.
If the weather is lousy we are moving to the promenade lounge.

It is the Adventure package at $115 pp. DD said YES :thumbsup2, DH doesn't know yet...I'm yes on the eye of wind and iffy on the zip line. Sounds scary:scared1: But really the bridge is what scares me at Capilano for sure. Not only does it move and shake, but it's a long drop!!!

Well tonight here at home Jason and I worked on our Golden Mickey tuxedo vests....and I have to say I'm extremely proud of how they turned out! Those cruisers who remember our nightly dinner garb are going to like them very much, I think!! Can't wait to show them off aboard the ship!:thumbsup2

getting more excited about this cruise as it gets closer. NBA season is coming to an end for the Nets(my favorite team, so following that a lot more). Hope to see some of the playoffs on the Wonder. Hope I get to meet a lot of you guys as well. You'll all be able to tell who I am because most likely I'll be one of the only ones on the ship wearing something that says Nets:lmao:

We are doing some sight seeing in Vancouver the day we get off the ship (we don't fly out until evening). Not sure what we'll do yet though. We have a rental car, but we also have twin babies, so guessing our options are limited to what we can do/see with them.

Who did you rent from? I was trying to figure out a rental car, but we are taking the train so don't know where to return it.

Sounds like Michael is a bad influence on your pocketbook!

We are planning to explore Stanley Park on the day at Vancouver between repo and Alaskan cruise, then we will have 2 days in Vancouver afterwards which we have not planned yet.

We booked the Hawaii cruise and the last NY/Canada (we were hoping to add the repo from NY to Galveston, but it does not look like they will be selling that one, Scott saw somewhere that the ship will not have any passengers for that sailing.

We are getting really close! You may find Jim watching some games, too!

cool, does he have a favorite team or is he more of a basketball fan? I'm rooting for Knicks to lose and of course Miami to lose as well and I'm hoping Celtics, Orlando, or Spurs win
