04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

I am getting together a pins 101 type meet for the 10 day cruise am on just before this cruise...would there be any interest in something like this on the repo cuise? I will also post this on the AK cruise...

This is an informal meet to explore pin trading 101...kinda like Linda's scrapbooking thing...but also if any experieced traders are bringing books...we can trade!!!

PM or post if you are interested and I will start a (another!) list...

Cayla

I'd definitely be interested. I haven't gotten into pin trading or collecting yet, but I'd like to know more about the "rules" and see what's out there pin-wise.

Ours arrived in Canada today too!!!!!

Ours too! Woo hoo! (Though I haven't opened them yet - waiting for the DH to get home from work first).

I noticed that you are not on the list. I need the first names of everyone in your group and which cruise you are on (repo, alaska, or both)

Ken

You do have our names; our names(Keith and Julie)are under the pamkass group. Thanks again!:worship::banana:

We got the surgeon's permission to travel for my DD today so that we can officially book the cruise! Slight problem though... surgery office manager asked the wrong surgeon. :headache: Guess we wait one more day so that the appropriate surgeon can give the "ok to travel." :goodvibes

Thanks Georgie....I will create a document and send it to you...so far 3 people, but I am sure more will join us! I am creating a power point thingy...for just a little explaination. I am willing to print off copies, but will need some idea of how many to print by April 12!

SO....can I give the official WOOO HOOO! or do I have to wait another day? :lmao:

I am very excited to see you again and can not wait to meet those two little girls!

I do my best to connect peoples first names with their disboard IDs. So in this case, if I didn't know that you are now a disboard member using the K&JDuhe ID, I would have attached your first names with pamkass.

I would also like to know if Keith or Julie is the disboard member - I also try and identify the actual disboard member on their name tags.

This will all make sense when you see the name badges.

A question for anyone who can HELP me!!! I am putting this on both REPO and 1st ALASKA threads.

I've started laying out clothes to pack for both the REPO and ALASKA cruises and I am stumped.

You guys out there... are you bringing any short sleeve polos? I don't know how to pack for Joe! Long sleeve shirts only? He has turtlenecks and long sleeved knit type pullovers for work, but they will really eat up the suitcase space. ;)

We've never had the heat on before in our staterooms only the AC! :rotfl2:

THANKS for ANY suggestions! :thumbsup2

I am not going to help you with Alaska. You can find average daily weather temperatures with a simple Google search.

For the days we will be in San Francisco, the historic average high and low are 65 and 51 F. Vancouver's historic averages are 58.8 and 44 F.

Where I live, even in mid-July with average daily highs of 73, my mother needs a jacket when she visits from Florida. So who will be comfortable in what is really up to the individual.

I will probably bring a pullover and a windbreaker / rain shell, then almost exclusively wear short sleeve shirts. DW and DS will probably each use a light jacket.

:woohoo:cruise documents arrived this morning!!:woohoo:

Now all I have to do is get out the luggage, pack, sort out the animals, finalize FE gifts.............etc etc etc

DH wants only short sleeved shirts, and plans to wear shorts alot. He is also warm blooded and used to the weather here. He only wants one light jacket "just in case."

I, on the other hand am stumped, too. I am always cold - wouldn't even set foot in Cove Cafe last time because of the blast of arctic air that came out when I opened the door. :sad2:

We will be in LA/DL for 4 days prior to sailing and will need shorts there for sure, then I am planning on wearing jeans with the short sleeved tops and sweaters and fleece as we head north. We don't really own rain gear - doesn't rain in our part of Oregon. I may also bring a warmer jacket, I'm a wimp. I just don't know how to get it in the suitcase that is allowed on the train after our cruise. In the evenings, I think I'll wear slacks and jackets, wraps with the formal wear. I'm going to make use of the space bags, for sure!

Excited for everyone who got docs in the mail!:cool1: Now I wish I wouldn't have done the online check-in - I would love to get some Disney mail!:yay:

We did online check-in so your docs are probably on the way.
I too love getting disney mail(I have a very quiet life:laughing:), but we dont seem to have had as much for this cruise as for past cruises?

That's GREAT NEWS! Pixie Dust for the OK from the "correct" surgeon! :wizard:

I put you on the roster. You can send me all the names when you get the formal good to go. :thumbsup2

Thanks!

We will probably end up packing our suitcases to the seams!!! Joe will want long sleeve pull overs with turtlenecks underneath. His office at work is like the tundra with artic breezes all day long. He even has his fleece lined flannel shirt over his chair just in case he needs that too.

I appreciate everyone taking time to respond! :thumbsup2
