I also have a unique way of looking at accomodations on the ship. There are more than 300 million people in the US. Of those 300 million, only about 2,000 are on the ship at any one time. That means I *must* be happier than the 299+ million people who are not onboard!

Alas I have mixed news. DD was accepted via audition to a great summer ballet program. Hooray! Which means we must save money so have downgraded our stateroom to save money. Boo-hoo. We are now in an 11C GTY. Boo-hoo. We still get to go! Hooray

Congratulations to your DD on the ballet program!
The downgrade is an easy sacrafice because you are still ON THE SHIP!!! Maybe you'll get some pixie dust with that GTY too...

DW and I are also *the kids* when we are onboard (our 23 year old son is more of an adult when we cruise ... but he is staying home this time).

We know about the sacrifices we make for our kids and they will remember that as they get older. Plus what a major opportunity! We scrimp and save to provide our kids with everything that we can. Our trip to Europe last year was one of those cases, but its not everyday that you can take your kids to all of those places, especially Rome and Barcelona. I love to hear them talk about we went! We are looking forward to this next adventure to the West Coast.

For those flying out of Seattle or Bellingham on Monday:
I know around 20 of us are booked on Alaska 2487 from Bellingham to Seattle, then 466 to Los Angeles.

I just received an email from Alaska saying they have changed the schedule. The flight out of Bellingham is now ten minutes later, and the flight to Los Angeles is now one full hour later, so we have an extra hour at the Seattle airport.

I expect we can easily entertain ourselves for an hour in Seattle; we could have a pre-cruise meet. But if you had any plans that evening in Los Angeles, push the schedule back an hour.

And you might want to check your reservation at the Alaska air website. Since the flights have changed there is always a possibility that your seats got changed.

We did this one a couple of years ago....it was a GREAT tour because you go across the Golden Gate which was (is) great. it has 21 stops/ hits all the hot spots in SF, plus if you order on line you save some $$.
if you do get this, we suggest that you stay on one time round trip, takes about 1 1/2 hrs. Take your camera, great pics to be taken. Once you go around, you know where you want to get off and get on....While worth it.
