We can't wait for our Spring break cruise!
The list of Castaways are:

DH(35) and myself (45) - repeat DCL cruisers pirate: pirate:
DB and his family (41)
DSIL (30 something)
DN1(13)
DN2(8)

This is the first time we've cruised with children so I've been taking notes on signing up for the oceaneers club and activities in the stack. The nephews didn't seem to excited when we first mentioned the cruise to them but now as the date is fast approaching they are asking a lot of questions and are noticeably more excited about their cruise adventure. I can't wait for them to experience all the fun!

If you are sailing the same date sign in! It's always nice to know who else on the DIS is sailing with you!

We will be joining you for Spring Break--this will be our fourth Disney cruise.

Me (41)
DW (uh, better not say - but younger than me!)
DD (12)
DS (9)

Our kids like some of the Oceaneer's Lab/Club activities, and others not so much. They probably spend about 4-6 hours there total for the whole cruise. My DD will be less than one month shy of 13 by our cruise date and I'm sure she would rather hang out in the Stack, but I don't know if they'll let her.

Passports have arrived, now all we have to do is finish paying for the cruise!

YAY! Thanks Buckeye! I believe if she is 30 days shy she should be able to go to the stack, I'll keep my fingers crossed for her! I think you are right about the clubs. My nephews would rather be swimming or playing basketball. My 13 y.o. nephew is very outgoing so I think he will have a good time in the stack. He'll like the freedom of doing his own thing and having a place to go have fun.

Live from the Magic...we have just rebooked for the Spring break, for us anyway, also from Florida, cruise and will be joining this thread...we are Chuck (46), Lisa (41) and Mason (8) and this will be our 5th cruise on the Magic, but our first eastern...we also rebooked for Thanksgiving 2009 as part of the continued Turkey Day gang, but are taking a year off to do an Eastern for a change....our son Mason loves the activities in the lab and spends most of the cruise there...he has gone thru the kids club now at age 5,6,7, and 8...time for the traditional Thanksgiving dinner on the Magic...Lobster...although you can order turkey too..

Chuck/Lisa:cool1:

Icemanpad I am soooo jealous! Are the members of the Turkey Day Gang Disers? No matter, but how cool is that to cruise with a group of people every year. Too fun! Glad to know you booked on the same cruise, looks like Payton (DN8) will have some company in the Oceaneers club. YAY!
Thanks for signing in. Lobster, mmmMMMMmmmm Enjoy the rest of your cruise!

Just check out the 200+ pages of this year's Turkey day gang....

Hi everyone!! We are soooo excited about joining ya'all for Spring Break 2008. This will be our first time on an Eastern Magic!! :thumbsup2 One new thing that we did on our most recent Magic was to participate in the Fish Extender exchange. You hang some sort of organizer/letter holder from the fish extender (purchased on ebay--I am not crafty) and then little gifts magically appear for the children each day. Mason loved it and as the cruise went on, he even helped deliver the gifts!! Let us know if ya'all are interested in this.

Lisa

There will hopefully be a few people out there to see this if we keep it on page one.

Lisa,
I am very interested in doing the fish extender/gift exchange! It looks like we may be the only ones cruising though! :) I saw some instructions on how to make a fish extender somewhere on the board, I'll go do a search. I need to start posting more to keep this on page one. 4 more months and we are there!
Time is flying folks, let us know if you are joining us for fun in the sun! sign in toparty:

Bumpin, just because I know there are more joining us for this Spring thaw cruise. It is ridiculous wet here in the PNW!

I'm dreaming of a warm carribean cruise, just like the one we're going to take in Maaaarch. :rolleyes1

There should at least be Floridians on board....This is spring break week for most Florida schools!!!

Lisa

Anyone else? Don't be shy, sign on in! :flower3: I'm off for the next 10 days I think I will try my hand at making a fish extender and making our door magnets. DB and DSIL listen to all my planning and think I am over doing it. When I reminded them we would be gone for over a week and 7 days will be spent on a ship they had to stop and say hmmmmm. I've directed them to the DIS to let them I am not alone. :) I can't wait until they go on the cruise. I just know they will fall in love with it like we did! Then again they aren't Disney nerds like DH and I, I'm working the magic and they are slowly coming around. :wizard:
I think preparing for the cruise is half the fun! I set them up with a cruise box and added some things like the over the door organizer, extention cord, light up clock, laundry soap, and a few other things to get them started.
Before you know it :hourglass March will be here and we'll be on the plane to MCO!:jumping3: :Pinkbounc :tigger: :mickeyjum

This is going to likely be a Florida resident top-heavy cruise...the Florida resident rates have already been released which is very unusual at 120 days out...normally, they come out, if at all, in the 30-60 day range...however, this is Florida's spring break, but apparently few other places' spring break..thus we rebooked the same cabin at the resident's rate...and we know of at least one other family who will be likely joining this thread in the upcoming weeks when they are able to finalize their plans..

Hi everybody! I JUST found out that we are booked for this week. Literally my fiance told me about 5 minutes ago! This is our Honeymoon! its my first cruise EVER and I am soooooooooooooo excited! I am SUCH a Disney Freak but have only ever been to the parks!

MeJessPooh, if you are truly a Disney freak, get ready for the best vacation of your life! With or without kids, it's a blast.

Thanks Buckeye! I am so incredibly excited! I'm looking through eevryone's trip report threads. I'll DEFINITELY have some questions for people too!

First question.

We have seen people talking about bringing bottled water for shore excursions etc. We're thinking it would be nice to bring sodas too and maybe even liquor. My friend says they bring a ton of it every time they go on a Disney Cruise but we're wondering if this is really something that you can do, or if you would get in trouble. She says she just tips her porter really well and helps them out with it. I just don't want it to be something that we worry about getting trouble over.

My fiance says the last time he went, they just threw a bottle of rum and 2 teo liters in with their checked luggage but that that was just for a 3 nighter. He says he knows you can bring liquor on board from the shore excursions but can you do that with mixers?

OK I'm done rambling. Any help would be great!

Welcome to the thread!! You will have an awesome honeymoon!! We bring a rolling cooler on w/ us filled w/ bottled water...it's never been a problem. You can also bring liquor. There are free soda machines on deck 9 to use as mixers. Enjoy!!! :woohoo:

We are completely planning on booking this cruise in early January! It will be our 4th Disney Cruise and our first trip on the Magic! Hopefully I'll be back with a confirmation, and will look forward to spending some time on this thread!

Awesome! Thank you Lisa!

OK another question I've been wondering about is, how formal is formal night for women? Is a coctail dress acceptable or is that too much?

Another question is for the character breakfastis that in multiple restaurants or just one restaurant, and does each breakfast have different characters, or are all the characters the same at each breakfast.

Hope I'm not being annoying, I am just do excited!

OH i just thought of another question, I want to decorate our door! What can we decorate it with? Do we use magnets? Paper and tape?

Awesome! Thank you Lisa!

OK another question I've been wondering about is, how formal is formal night for women? Is a coctail dress acceptable or is that too much? Formal night is typically pretty dressy. A cocktail dress is fine. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy are out for pictures in their formal wear too!!

Another question is for the character breakfastis that in multiple restaurants or just one restaurant, and does each breakfast have different characters, or are all the characters the same at each breakfast. The character breakfast is in Parrot Cay. We didn't go to it on our most recent cruise because they changed the format. The characters no longer come to the tables for pictures and autographs. Now, they do dances and the children join in. My 8 year old son and I happened to be walking by Parrot Cay one morning as the characters left and he got hugs from Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale. We didn't have a camera w/ us!!

Hope I'm not being annoying, I am just do excited! You are not being annoying at all!! Ask all the questions that you want!! We are excited too!!

OH i just thought of another question, I want to decorate our door! What can we decorate it with? We make our own decorations on the computer, laminate them and then attach the little tabs of magnet backing that you can find at Michaels or Walmart. Do we use magnets? Yes. Paper and tape?No tape is allowed on the doors.
