03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

We are completely planning on booking this cruise in early January! It will be our 4th Disney Cruise and our first trip on the Magic! Hopefully I'll be back with a confirmation, and will look forward to spending some time on this thread!

Welcome to the group!!

Lisa! thank you for being such a wealth of information!

My fiance is sitting next to me telling me to ask about the tastings and seminars like art of entertaining and behind the scenes. He wants to know if you can book them ahead of time or if you have to do it once you get on the ship, and if you have to wait till you get on the ship, do they book up quickly?

Also, he wants to know if the numbered groups to get on the ship thing is new and if so, how it works.

I have done the wine tastings. You book at guest services on deck 3 once you board the ship. If you want to do the beer tasting, martini tasting or tequila tasting you book at the same time/place. The wine tastings are nice--good information and good wine!! The behind the scenes tour of the WDW theater is very interesting too. We just did that in November. You actually go on stage and see the props and costumes up close. For that, you just show up at the time on the Navigator. I think that the only behind the scenes tour that has a # of people restriction is the kitchen tour.

Also, he wants to know if the numbered groups to get on the ship thing is new and if so, how it works.

The numbered group system has been in place for a few years now. It actually works fine. We were in group 2 in November and group 5 boarded within about 20 minutes of us boarding.

For the answers to many of your questions, you may want to check out the 2007 Thanksgiving thread as I know there were many first timers and lots of questions asked and answered....or you can feel free to ask here...as to packing, plan it and then put back half of it....you have limited space for clothes and luggage storage..as to beverages, focus on bringing bottled water or hard liquor...sodas are free at meals and any time from deck 9 and beer really will not stay cold in the coolers, unless your cabin is one of he few where they have replaced the cooler w/a mini fridge, which is the current trend, but you wont know that until you board.

The other suggestion we make here is to remember to have fun...you can download the old Navigators from several websites, but you will quickly realize that there are consistently multiple activities scheduled simultaneously throughout the trip...in other words, you really cannot do it all and can easily run yourself into the ground trying (we know a few who have tried...and failed)...besides, that is what rebooking is for :)

and nice to see we made page 2 of this thread...:)

hopefully we will hit 102 and then some

I tried out one of the dresses I am thinking of bringing for the cruise, at my fiance's Christmas party last night. All in all I'm pretty pleased. I got it on sale at Ross for $3.50. I couldn't believe it. It was a $100 dress!!

I am seriously losing it with excitement. I find myself reading everyone's trip reports and looking at DCL related stuff like 50 times a day!

I see another DCL addict bieng born right before my eyes!

Heehee and I am totally the kind of person with an addictive personality. I get excited about something and I can't forget about it for a minute. ESPECIALLY when its Disney related!

It's funny, as soon as he told me about the cruise I came here to join the boards....turns out, I was already a member from a long time ago and had been posting previously in one of the "How many days till you go to Disney" type threads. So I was like AWESOME I'm already a member with an avatar and everything!

Alright so I'm gonna start working on my door decorations soon. Some kind of honeymoon theme, haven't completely decided yet.

Can someone fill me in on this "fish extender" I keep reading about. What is it? How do I get/make one and what is its purpose.

Also, I've read a lot about Lime green. Is that what DIS'ers where on day one in order to identify each other?

Does this thread get busier as it gets closer to cruise time? There some threads for cruises that aren't until 2009 that have multiple pages already. LOL!

I fel like that kid from across the street in Home Alone who asks the airport van driver a MILLION questions!
:hourglass

Well it has come to my attention that some sad sad stalkers with nothing better to do with their lives than follow me around the internet, have somehow found me here, so I guess I'm not going to be able to post here anymore.

I appreciate all the help you guys have given me.

If anyone wants to pm me the answers to the questions I asked that haven't been answered yet, I'd really appreciate it.

I guess I'll just lurk from now on :sad1:

actually this board has good security - you should be able to report it and have them banned.

But I don't know who it is :sad2:

I haven't had anything to do with this group of people for like 2 years now, yet they still follow my every move. It's actually kind of scary. I have been told that they are now taking my posts from here back to their site, but I have no idea who it is in order to report them.

You can print any picture you want and then have it laminated at a kinkos store and use magnet tab backings. Can someone fill me in on this "fish extender" I keep reading about. What is it? How do I get/make one and what is its purpose. It is a multi pocket pouch that can be purchased on ebay. then, if lots of people participate it's fun to exchange little gifts. Also, I've read a lot about Lime green. Is that what DIS'ers where on day one in order to identify each other? yep.

Welcome mejesspooh! You will have a wonderful time on the cruise and especially for a honeymoon, very nice! Please keep checking back here for info. I'm sorry you are having stalker problems. :( That is scary, try to ignore them if you can and if you have an inkling of their screen ID, like Icemanpad said report them right away.
