03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

Thanks. Did you get my info on the fish extenders. We can't wait. I hope the Eastern people come back with info on the new retations. Lynn

Yes I did. I am hoping to have time to work on it tonight. I currently have the disboards up in one window and my class work that I am grading in another. The DIS is giving my eyes and brain a rest.:lovestruc

I remember at one point a while back on these boards I saw posted, a list of items to pack. Clearly it was just one person's idea of what to pack, but I thought it would be cool to have to use as a guide. Does anyone know where I can fine it?

Hey, if you go to the main page and go to the fourth thread, you can find a packing list. Just scroll down. Hope this helps. I have been doing a little packing tonight. I can't wait. We leave one week from tomorrow.:woohoo: :woohoo:

Susan

1) Pirate night on Western Cruises have always been and remain on Wednesday.
2) Pirate night for our Eastern cruise have always been and still remains on Tuesday (to our knowledge).
3) Some cruises have changed dining rotations to the following patterns.. (APPLAPL PLLAPLA, LAAPLAP)
4) Formal night is Monday.
5) SemiFormal night is Thursday. (this is also Lobser night)
6) If you get the PLLAPLA rotation, you will have both formal and semiformal night in Lumierres which is desirable to some..

I think I'm getting a headache....:headache:

as the one who has not been responsible for the planning of this trip, all I know is that I'll put on the tux when told...::yes::

Hi Michelle,
Would you mind putting our names on the two lists. Lynn and Brad/ and our friends Pat and Jennifer. Thanks so much I thought I had sent that before but I see that I didn't. Lynn

On 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruises:
*Nights 1, 3, 4, & 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress

*Night 5: pirate night with deck party
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

And this is why we chose Palo's for Sunday night (the yummy Palo lobster); however, don't they always go through a complete restaurant rotation prior to any special occasion? Or have they changed lobster night? Dinghy Deb

Lobster night is Thursday Semi-Formal and that is the night they serve Lobster in Palo. That I was verify for you.

Disneybear12,
What kind and/or area do you want suggestions for? We all have lots of suggestions, but you probably wouldn't want them all. We are glad you are going with us.
I can't wait until Sat. or Sun. I hope someone on the Eastern this week will post the new rotations and tell us what is going on with the rotations and menus. We have our Palo brunch for Monday and Palo dinner for Friday. I was wanting to change before all of this new info on dining. Now I want to know more before deciding what to do. It won't be much time to decide, because we leave on Friday. Of course, this nothing to stress about. I am sure I will eat too much and definitely not go hungry. Just let me on the ship!! We have a week to go!!!!!!! Teri

Does anyone know the latest pricing and whether they have wireless WiFi anywhere on board or hook ups in the rooms? Are they still using the per minute rates or have they returned to the packages? DD

Thank you! My party consists of my Husband (Woody), my 11 year old daughter (Brooke), my 6 year old daughther (Gracie) and me (Tara). We have never been on any cruise before. After reading about the fish extenders on the post I got on Ebay. Is anyone making them, so I can just buy or should I just buy one from Ebay? Also, do I put things in other peoples fish extenders or do the cast members fill them? If I do, what are some of the things that you would suggest? I have not even put together a list and to read about how people are already packing makes me want to start biting my nails! What time can we start to board? I welcome all suggestions. So anything that you think might help a first time cruiser, please tell me. One really important questionis, my husband gets sea sick. Does anyone know what works the best?
Again, thank you!

The wireless now works pretty much everywhere. They have packages, but not the unlimited one. I do not have the info handy but I know my DH has them.

In October 90% of the time he used the computer in our room, but a few times he went other places.

And I know he has to work while he is on the ship this times.

I assume you wanted to be added to the FE list. I will need your stateroom number so I can add your information. I'd love to volunteer to make your FE, but I do not want to overextend myself. I am fiishing up my new pirate shirt and I am doing alerations to dance stuff for my daughters dance school. I will be more than happy to send you the directions. And you do not need to sew. I have sen people who make them out of felt and hot glue and they decorate it with all sorts of stuff.

As for FE's all of us on the list basically deliver goodies to each other.
Ideas:
hair scrunchies, candy, pens, pencils, stickers, paper, lotion, nail stuff, bubbles, tatoos, keychains, little items like you would get in party favor bag.

As for when you can get on the boat it is typically anywhere between 11am-12pm. They let you on based on a number they give you when you arrive.

Are you flying in from anywhere??? Or are you parking your own car at the port??

I have some links I will try to post with great info for a first time cruise. One of them is a 50 page book of everything you ever wanted to know.

For Seasickness we live in Kissimmee so we do not fly. We dry to the port and at around 4pm my husband takes a target motion sickness pill. There are also wristbands you can buy called SeaBands. My father's brother is a pharmacist and told him bonine is better than dramamine. I guess it is all subjective. But for my husband the Target stuff works just fine. For my duaghter we bring benadryl but have never needed it.

Other Suggestions: We pack glow necklaces for Pirate night, I bring sand toys and a neat sheet for the beaches. I am having a major mental block right now and cannot think of anything else, but I am sure there is plenty in my head.
Bring your own water or we just bring two bottles and fill them with Mickey Water.....much cheaper than a water package.

Deidra and Grandma and Grandma I am very sorry. When I added a group to the FE list I accidentally deleted you. My mother called me today when she got the list and said what happened to them. I appologize and the corrected one is right here.

I am editing this to say I see the problem with the file. Something happened when I converted it. But I am very tired and I will need to update once I get DisneyBear12's info. So it will be a project for tomorrow.
