03/01/2008 Eastern!!

I apparently got you (and Brenda), but tried to fess up right away. You must have been reponding as I was working on my confession.

OK - being my retentive self - I just filled out and printed all those forms on the DCL site. It said I have to bring a Bahamas Immigration form but it's not listed on the site -- where do I get these forms?

HMMM, I guess there's no amount of fancy footwork that can get me upgraded to a suite - eh?

Rani

If I remember right...you will recieve the Bahama's Immigration forms w/ your cruise docs...which arrives I think a week or two before your cruise date...then you can just fill them out, and have them ready for boarding day!!!

Ohh! So we're getting another little brown package from Disney -- who knew? I mean, I guess all of you did....

Next question from the vault - we need to have our Key to the World card at all times -- do we get a neck lanyard or something? I wasn't planning on carryng a wallet all over and certainly the kids weren't - I'm sure this answer is right in front of my face....

I know returning cruisers get the famous blue lanyard -- but what about us peasents?

Rani

Yes Mike..you did get me :lmao: :lmao: Hopefully you will REALLY get upgraded!!!!
I know that it is a stress and a worry about your flight..but have faith..I' know that it will all work out just fine!!! and next time, just turn it all over to Michelle..she will see to it that, not only will you have underwear..but, that they will be colored cordinated with your daily attire!!!!

About booking and saving money -- we went through Costco and it cost the same as going through Disney...but they gave us $150 per person of costco gift cards and guaranteed our room that night. Apparently, booking eight months out is not soon enough for first seating though - but since there's food round the clock, I don't see that having a snack before the show will be any big deal....

Right now - I'm feeling so sorry for all those people who go on these cruises and don't find these boards and get answers from all of you experienced folks. It must be awful! I'm getting so much help from everyone for what seems to be one of the biggest planning adventures ever -- thanks so much!

Yes.. you will be getting another package from Disney..it will come UPS...this package will also have your luggage tags in it as well...BUT don't put the tags on UNTIL the morning of the crusie (you don't want to take a chance of them coming off during your flight)..these tags have your stateroom # on them...
I'm not for sure how the tags works if you have Disney Transporation...

As far as the lanyard...I really can't remember if they provided us with one on our first cruise or not..maybe someone else can help out w/ that question..

but yes, you need to have your key to the world card with you in order to make charges/get into your room etc...and this (KTTW) of course will be given to you when you check in...on the kids KTTW card...it will also have a sticker on it, telling what kids club they belong to..each time the kids check into the club the CM will keep the kids cards, and return it to them once they check out, this takes care of the big concern, of the kids misplacing them while hanging out in the clubs....

Also the KTTW cards are needed to get off the ship and back on again at both the ports and CC...

Does that make any sense or answer any questions...I do have a way of rambling on without making any sense, and making things even more confussing!!! :headache:

Yes Brenda, you are right, I will plan the trip for all of us next time. Everyone will have matching underwear each day..... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Hey Mike, call DCL and give them your reservation number and ask them what your flight info is. They have it already. I know they are not suppose to talk to you when you have a TA, but the weekend staff is a lot more easy going I have found. If you are not changing anything but instead just getting info, many times they will tell you.

Rani-
I plan to add you to my group e-mail list to help you with some of the planing as all of our friends that are going are 1st time DCL cruiseres as well. They are going because they did not make it last time for our 10th anniversary vow renewal. So they are going this time. So if you want details about what tags and documents you will get, what goes where where to report etc, it will come with my group e-mail. Just know, I am very detail orientated and I will help you step by step even down to how many stairs are on the DCL bus. Happy planing everyone.......

Mike-
Good thing I kept reading, I told DH as I read your post, OMGoodness, DCL will be on everyone's radar if anyone finds that out as they claim the upgrades are only up to the next accomindating SR. I was very happy for you  but was scratching my head a little. I heard our ship was not yet full, so maybe the upgrade fairy will come to all of us. Everyday when the phone rings, I say "Oh, I hope that is DCL.......pixiedust: ;)

Michelle-
Are you guys celebrating Madison's b-day on the ship?

MMichelle,

Can I be on your email group list too.:)

Yes, I just don't know what yet. I know I want to do our stateroom up but everytime I see some great stuff Madison is with me !;)

Do you guys have any great ideals ?? Madison has ALWAYS had a BIG party but we are going to be very low key after the cruise. Her B-day is March 5th, while we are at St. Thomas.

Michelle

Michelle-
Sure I will add you to my e-mail list. I knew about Madison's b-day because DS told me about it, saying, we have to bring her something special mom. Guys he really is the sweetest boy, I just hope he stays that way when the hormones start to increase. He will make some girl real happy someday. As for DD, I think she is going to need a guy with really deep pockets. :hippie:

Last year I ordered a gift basket from "The Perfect Gift", I had talked to Shirley (owner of the shop) on the phone about what I wanted put in it...I had her put the stuff in a large sand pail, along with some sand toys, (so the took care of the sand castle building stuff)...she is SO NICE...

I'm sure you all have seen threads about her shop...everyone always seems very pleased w/ her work...anyway, she even let me mail her some of the girls favorite snacks, to put in the bucket, along with a small gift that I had purchased for each of them...the girls where so surprised and totally loved it...it was a fun surprise to have waiting in our stateroom when we arrived!!!!! I knew about it , and I was even excited!!!!!

I do have a picture and could try to post it, if anyone is interested...

Micday...the gift basket might be something you could do, and either have it waiting in your stateroom when you arrive or just have guest services keep it for you until the day of Madison's B-day...Also, your stateroom host ( I think that is what they are called) is usually very good about helping out with stuff..like perhaps leaving a gift on her pillow (you just need to get the gift to him) make sure he/she knows what day is her birthday...I'm sure they will want to do something special for her!!! as will we:flower3:

another fun idea...bring a birthday candle (and match) and the morning of her birthday before she wakes up..go down and get a muffin or stack of pancakes and stick the candle in it and wake her up by singing "Happy Birthday":) we always have pancakes on Birthday mornings (w/ Candle)

It will no doubt be a great Birthday for her!!!!

I just thought of something...Thursday (Maddison B-day) is the morning that we all have to wake up early for customs.....don't know if you first time cruisers are aware of that morning yet or not...

I will let Michelle (Tink) explain it for those who are not aware of it...she does a MUCH better job explaining things then I do!!!! I even confuse myself sometimes LOL!!!!

I think it's funny that we are all more concerned with Mike's travel plans than he is :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

All,

1. My wife has threatened to take away my posting privileges after my trick earlier today.

2. We are definitely leaving it up to the veteran cruisers to decide any details regarding a get-together, if any.

3. Though I am a novice, and have little to contribute, I am willing to make simple magnetic door signs for any fellow cruisers (meaning the group on this thread, not everyone on the ship!) that would want them. I have already made simple signs for each member of our family (approximately 5"x7"), as well as a family sign and a sign asking for quiet while our children sleep (each approximately 7"x10"). The signs are printed in color, laminated, with magnetic backing. There would be no cost, it's my treat for the hospitality of you all. The only condition would be that you not be too demanding, I'll just put something together and see if you like it. Our signs have first names only, but I could do last names, nicknames, stateroom numbers, or whatever. I would also benefit if you get me some pictures of yourselves and let me know particular favorite Disney characters, movies, themes, etc. I could e-mail them to you in advance (Word format) to see if you like what I come up with. If you wish to take me up on this offer, just let me know.

Jennifer,
Yes, I too have noted that all of you at times are more worried about my problems than I am. I have found that worrying about things over which I have no control has little value. I do appreciate the caring, nonetheless.

Brenda,
I recall that you mentioned you had black Mickey ears for the doors for those that would want them. Are those the ears that would turn the round cabin number sign into a Mickey head? If so, we would gladly take a set.

- Mike

P.S. to All: Knowing my luck, if my wife really did make group Rasul reservations for us with a couple of young exotic blondes, they would probably be named Sven and Jorge!

Good morning! Just bumping us up (pumping us up) for the new week....

That is so sweet of your son !! Tell Christopher that as soon as James feels better I'll get him to post some pictures from Madison. James has had a very nasty head cold.

Well my Bucs just got elimated from the playoffs :headache: , so back to cruise planning !

Michelle

That is really sweet of you, Brenda and Mike !!!

Tink & Rani,

I tried to log on to the chat and it looks like it's still down. I know we where talking about getting together later today.
