03/01/2008 Eastern!!

My turn to chime in:

Fantasy Football.....thank goodness Craig does well with it (and yes -- he's more like Prince Charming....awwwhhhh) and always get's me a nice present when he wins some $ -- this year he won in two leagues, so I'me very happy! He'll be thrilled to talk with anyone about it.

Lanyards: Got one for each member of the family...ready to go.

SUPER DEAL OF THE DAY: CVS has their sunscreen on clearance! I got three Banana Boat Mist Sport SPF 50 for $4.99 each and two Waterbabies SPF 30 Sticks for the face for $2.75 each. run!

Matching Shirts: We don't match ourselves or the kids -- we want comfort - mentally and physically! The boys have their suits so they're wearing those (although DS9 has very specific preferences toward wearing the combos of black/white -- without other colors mixed in). Craig has his suit - and that's that. I still haven't broached the picture topic with him -- he's just getting off the floor from the TIP amount collapse...

I did just get him Crocs for a valentine's present -- which I'll give to him now so it's not really for Valentine's Day -- but I'll say it is. They're so much lighter than traditional sandals and are wonderful for sand and pools.

It is my humble pleasure to provide the early morning post for the sake of the ticker!

Hope everyone is starting to shove stuff away in their suitcases!

Mike, I do not believe you actually responded that way to the Spa treatment request. I should have selected very carefully who we dined with, sounds as if the MAD Family may not be making it to dinner some nights. :upsidedow I WONDER why?:confused3

Tink,

While I explained how the men think about such things, you women are totally different. You need not worry, DW will have me at that dinner table, regardless of what my desires may be. Oh well, you know what they say, the best laid plans of mice and men...

- Mike

P.S. Being at the dining room instead of the stateroom isn't the end of the world. After all, eating is probably the second-most thing we guys look forward to about the cruise.

GOOD MORNING - ONLY ONE MONTH AND SIX DAYS!!!

Ok, enough caps for now......

Mike: Craig is not normally a message boards kind of guy -- but other than that - yes, he's definately a typical guy - especially with liking sports!

Tink: DHs should find a lot of common ground with fantasy football to talk about....

Funny items packed yesterday - gum for the plane ride.....only five weeks ahead of time!

Have a great day,
Rani

Reminder to self -
Do not stop for a pop on the way to the airport.

This morning I awoke startled from a dream. I was on my way to the airport in the way to Florida (of course):goodvibes :goodvibes , and had stopped at a gas station on the way to get a drink. The checkout clerk accidentally charged my credit card $183.00 instead of $1.83. :sad2: :sad2: Slowly she fixed the mistake, and I left the gas station to get back to the car. I glance at my watch (which is funny because I haven't worn a watch in a decade or more) and the time is... Of course it's the exact time my plane is to be taking off.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

No thank you, I will pack my own drinks to take to the airport!!!!!

---how do you ever know what time it is? And here I was considering taking an extra watch on the cruise in case my regular one broke!

I always have one of two things with me:

1) My cell phone - I just check the time there :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
2)My husband's wrist - he almost always has a watch on :) ;)

Question for repeat cruisers:

Does anyone know how and when I might go about trying to request a particular server? We would love to have Clive who was our server 2 years ago (if he is still onboard).

Thanks!

I remembered reading a thread on this awhile back..so I looked it up and found this...hope it helps:)

You can request a server, but not a team. The teams change frequently as people go on leave, etc.

You request a server by calling DCL (or if you used a TA, they have to do it). You will get the standard reply that they will note your request, but cannot guarantee that it will be granted. Then, when you board you go to "Dining Changes." You speak to the head server and find out whether your got your request and whether you can move to your preferred server at that time if you didn't get it.

We've had good luck with our requests, but know that on one cruise our guy had 18 (!) people request him.

Yes, you can have a good cruise with a "just so-so" serving team, but a great team really makes it special.

Does the DIS Board seem slow to anyone else or is it just me and my computer:badpc: :badpc:

I'm an inpatient person..it's driving me crazy!!!!

The DIS is sooooo slow this AM. :headache:

First of all, I do not wear a watch usually either, but DH brought me one just for our past cruise and I will wear it. Not much of a problem on the Eastern, but everytime I leave the ship, I always ask the staff down stairs what time it is because on the Western Cruise, it changes from Eastern to Central Time Zones a couple of times. We never want to be late getting back to the ship and have the ship leave us.:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I called and got the movies on the ship. Took me a couple of calls as the first reps had no idea what I was talking about.

The movies on the ship are Wild Hogs, Meet the Robinsons, Bridge to Tarabithia, Pirates at Worls End, Ratatouille, The Game Plan, Under Dog, Dan in Real Life, Enchanted, National Treasures II, (OKAY MICDAYmake sure DD is not around..................) Hannah Montanna In Concert, now she did not know if it was the 3D version or not and we are the premier folks for the Raven Movie College Trip. The thing is we will not be able to see it until Thursday Night, so I guess for the Raven fans, it will be a sleepy "Day" at Castaway Cay.

This post has been ideling since 9AM this morning, so I have not read the threads.

I have to now go and plan out the activities that we need tickets so that I can get them once on the ship. I have forgoton everything we want to do. So I guess I have some work to get busy with. On top of that remember I am cranking out the shifts for those dead men on the green paper..:rotfl2: I also have to plan out cash and finish shopping... Now I have to remember to get gum and soda before I leave for the airport. I got my prescriptions, need to have them filled. Faxed in my medical forms for DD this AM and need to write a list of what I need to pack. How am I doing?:yay:
