Jen, yes 12:01 your time Dec. 2nd. I have to be honest. We have not PIF, so I have to do it in order to get brunch. I want brunch on the 2nd day as it is my birthday. We do not really do dinner there, because the food is so rich, it tears up my stomach. Not that it is not "to die for", just I do not care to be for.

We can not do SWA from here, so we are looking at this $500 tickets and have not bought those yet either. I am getting a little nervous.

Rani- to your son. So . Congrats Somethings my DS would truly idolize. My DS is totally into the academic side, not much for sports. So he would love to hear of his "new position".

Since we are bragging on the kids, my DS just got the lead role in his school's Christmas musical. He is playing Benjamin, the ruler of the town of Judaha.

As far as pulling the kids out of school. We have never done it before. Hey I went K-8th grade with perfect attendence. What happened was we booked this trip based on last years Spring Break. It took the district 4-ever to give us this years dates. By the time they came out, the trip was already booked. When I looked at going 2 weeks later, the price was sooo much more, we said, "Oh Well, they should have been more organized." We talked with the teachers and principals and they told us "go, do not worry about it.". My DS principal said, any place that needs a passport, teached children more in a week than some kids learn in years. "So, go and have fun." Well we all have to listen to the principal, don't we?????? So technically, we are just following her rules I am trying to keep it to 5 days though.

Palo has a fantastic brunch that you can sign up for. Reservations are required, and of course since it's Palo it's Adults only. It's 10 per person, alcohol is extra, as is tip. I'm not sure if I took any pictures of the food (DH tends to get embarrassed when I do this) but I will check. This cruise we are going to sign up for one dinner and one brunch. This will be our first dinner at Palo. I am planning on PIF on the 28th of this month so that there is plenty of time for the payment to clear so that I can make my reservations on the 2nd.

Thought I had better check in since it has been awhile...we are leaving in the morning to go to Iowa for the Thanksgiving holiday, this will be the 10th year in a row that we have gone..Ron's Aunt and Uncle live out there, we always look forward to this trip (just as much as we look forward to the Disney trip!!) we will spend the week (plus a few days!!)
Disney on Ice is always there during Thanksgiving so we have made that a part of our holiday tradition as well..

Feiste....we are SOOOOOO jealous...the Nick Hotel!!!!!we stayed there 2 years ago and loved it...Ron and I liked it every bit as much as the kids, we stayed there 5nights (before our 3day Disney cruise) the kids loved the pool area, and we loved the doing nothing by the pool. they have some great evening shows that we really enjoyed as well..very family geared...as far as the rooms go, we had a two bedroom suite which consists of a living room w/ small fridge and sink, the 2 bedrooms, one which had a king sized bed and the other w/ bunk beds and a murphy bed...best of all 3 t.v.'s so everyone was happy!!!!! you'll LOVE it... we did!!!!

atinkerbellmom..good luck w/ the airfare that's awful!!! I got our return ticket w/ Southwest last week so we are all set to go...it was a bit higher than last year... but after hearing what your airfare is, I am not complaining, hope you stumble across a great deal!!!

Okay like I said we are leaving in the morning so you know what that means...everyone but me "The Mom" is in bed!!!!! finishing up a few last minute things

Hey all, doing a little catching up here.

First, Congratulations to Rani's son for his presidency (at age 11! we didn't have any sort of election when I was in school until our senior year of high school!) and to Michelle's son for getting his role in the musical. I'd be bragging on my kids right now, too, if they gave awards for parent manipulation, procrastination, etc.

Second, thanks to Michelle for explining the whole "boo" thing.

Third, I enjoyed the discussion regarding taking kids out of school for a family vacation. This has been a point of some debate between my wife and I. My wife hates taking the kids out of school, whereas I have no problem with it whatsoever. The issue came first came up for us when we took the kids to WDW last February. We had some teachers tell us they thought it was fine and that the kids would learn more and get more out of trip than they would get out of one more week of school, and they pointed out that if it's okay to take kids out of class for school sporting events, then it should be okay for family stuff as well. The clincher was when the principal said that "officially" the school policy was to encourage that parents keep kids in school, and "unofficially" the principal wouldn't hesitate for a second to pull his kids out of school for such an opportunity. Still, my wife doesn't like it.

Fourth, best wishes go out to those of you still trying to arrange your flights. We always book our flights at the time we book the rest of our trip. We probably don't always get the best price that way, but it gets rid of one more thing to worry about.

Fifth, I think I may have mentioned earlier that I would try to post a picture of us to the thread when I've had the time to figure out how. While I think I'm starting to understand the process, I am likely to not follow through out of simple laziness (I don't know why they can't make it as simply as copying and pasting into a posting). However, I think a couple of you may have started receiving pictures of us through e-mails from my DD to your kids (specifically, I believe, Michelle's and Jen's DDs?).

Finally, to fellow Huskers Brenda and Ron... A WIN! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!

Those costumes are SO great! And, you'll get double wear out of them! Sorry I've been out of the loop folks - I have two semi-sick kids and this is my busy season with birthday parties and such....

Feiste! Whattup girl?! It's Kim - finally! I can't believe you'll be cruising with us. We had a great time. I still have my pictures, although they've been replaced with our Europe cruise. Let me say to all ya'll out there - I said I wasn't going to compare Royal to DCL but I just couldn't help it. No lotion? No self-serve laundry? One potty room! The cabins were small. No MICKEY! No Mickey Bars. A casino (boo!!!). I cannot wait to go on MY ship in March!

Norm and I just booked our air today. We fly out Friday 2/29 and stay with tktstjohn the night before at BCV. I cannot wait!!!!

I updated the 'list' but am missing some email addresses. I'll send out the updated list. If you don't receive an email ... email me at nshabarekh@snet.net and I'll send you a copy.

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all. We're under 99 days now and it's going to come up on us fast... very fast.

It's official we are POF!!!!

I'll be booking excursions and Palo this Sunday.

I got a message from my AAA lady that said when she called Disney to make our payment Disney mentioned that my husband's birthday would be coming up right after our cruise. Disney was wondering if we would like to celebrate his birthday on board the ship on the last evening. I tried to call back, but she had already left for the day. Does anyone know what celebrating your birthday onboard entails? Is there a cost, and what might be included?
