01/04/05 4 Day Magic Roll Call

Dawne
So glad to help. These boards have saved me so much money, I am happy to
return the favor. The walk from Atlantis to Comfort suites is easy to do. We
walked over from the front where the van dropped us off (you might make it
clear to the taxie driver you want to go to the comfort suites not Atlantis
and maybe avoid that part of the walk). We checked in at the front desk and
they gave us a paper voucher. I don't remember getting a map but maybe
they gave us one. Then we walked along a path back to Atlantis and
gave our vouchers at the towel hut. They gave us wrist band and towels to
use. You cannot charge anything to your room at comfort suites, you have
to pay for it there. Not sure how this works if you get a room at Atlantis.

Hi Gail
I rebooked mine Nov. 19th. I went to the www.rentalcodes.com site, click on choice hotels and use small signifigant organization saving rate, it beats
the entertainment and AAA. Hope the $140.00 is still on. My old rate was
at $172.00 so the $140.00 was a great improvement. (of course now I may
not use it). Its rainny and cold here, cold for us in South Texas anyway
I am ready for our trip. :umbrella:

Good luck,
Wintermom

Hi. I just went thru the link you posted & checked &, if I did it correctly, I was quoted $170.00 with the small sign. organ. discount & $157.50 w/AAA. I put in the check-in & check-out day both as Jan. 5th & 3 adults & one child (14yo). It definitely depends on the number & age of the people booked, so I wonder if that's how you got $140.00???

Thanks so much for the website. I did get the rate of $140.00 from $157.50. Another $17.50 in my pocket. I will be so excitied when the Doc's come. How many days in advance do they come???? TTYL-Gail

C-Once you get on the site for Comfort suites go almost to the bottom and pull down where it asks you what type of discount you are looking for and put in SMALL SIGNIFIGANT ORGANIZATION SAVINGS RATE. That will give you the rate at $140.00. I just did it a few minutes ago. Gail

You may be getting a higher rate with 3 adults. I did check in Jan. 5th and
check out Jan. 6th. but we are only 2 adults with one child age 7.

Yeah, thanks Gail, that's what I did, so I guess I did it correctly. I think wintermom is right & the 3 adults makes the amount higher. I tried with 4 adults (just to see if there was a difference) & it gave me a rate of $200.+. I guess I'll just book it at the rate it is - $157.50, but that's with the AAA - the Small Sign. Org. was definitely higher for us.

Udate: The info. I gave above was from me checking last night. Today I went to the website & put in the same info. & with the SSO discount it is $170.00 for us & $187.50 w/AAA! Oh, well. :guilty:

Hi everyone. The SSO rate just went back to $140.00. There are two different type rooms at that price. I am glad I booked it last night. Off to take DD to Piano and Jazz in a little while. I am going to try to get on the DIS chat tonight. Friday night is cruise chat night. Gail

WOW 30 days to go. 4 weeeks from Tuesday. Time is a flying.
We have plans to see a magic show with the children and than we are off to buy a table tree and decorate it in all blue and silver for Chankauh. The children want a Chankauh bush so we are off to get one this afternoon. Cold but nice in NY today. The next few days will be rain.
Have a great Sunday everyone. Gail :flower1:

Has anyone started to pack yet? I was thinking of waiting until the documents arrived and starting then but I have 60+ hr. work weeks right now and think I should get a jump on it. Being the "I HATE WINTER" person who is always cold I was thinking of packing capris, skirts, sweaters(for layers) but am wondering if I'm going to overpack. When we were at WDW last NYE it was 80 and wonderful but the temp fell drastically the next week - we're talking mittens and coat weather. What is everyone else planning on doing?

I plan on keeping an eye on the various weather sites on the net and then making my final decisions when it gets closer.

Hopefully we will get some nice warm weather!!

We're going to be at WDW from Dec. 16-23, so I won't be able to start packing until after Christmas. I'm planning on taking a little bit of everything, just in case! (While trying not to overpack, of course.)

*I'd like to ask everyone for prayers and pixie dust for my DD - she fell off our trampoline and broke her arm Friday. She'll be in a cast for 2 months, which includes our Christmas trip to WDW, her birthday, our cruise, and our church youth group ski trip. She has a good attitude about it, but I just hate it that she won't be able to swim, snorkle, or ski. I debated cancelling the cruise, but decided to go ahead anyway - hopefully there'll still be lots for her to do and it'll be something fun to look forward to.

Have a blessed week, everyone!
Lisa

Hi Lisa

We should be able to pick your daughter out of the crowd on the ship a little easier that way :earboy2:

Poor girl. I am sure that she will have tons of fun even without being able to get wet.

Lisa, sorry to hear about your DD. I know that there is a plastic blow up to go over the cst on her arm. At least she could go in and get her feet wet at the beach in Nassau if she has the plastic cover for her arm. Did you post this on the DIS Discussion Forum about your DD??? I read somewhere about someone falling off the trampoline and breaking her arm. I hope she is feeling better. I am glad to hear you all are still going.

Have a great night everyone. 4 weeks till we cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gail

Lisa, sorry to hear about DD. In 2002, my DD, then 6, broke her thumb two days before our Disney vacation. Her cast was up to the elbow. Will her Ortho put her in a fiberglass cast? That's what my DD had and she could swim. I also picked up the blow up waterproof cast cover, but she really didn't need it. Here's a link to their website if you want to check them out, http://www.xerosox.com/.

It's been a long few days here. My grandfather passed away in Florida, but he's being buried up here in Massachusetts. I've had family up from there and the Memorial Service is this morning. We leave for our Disney vacation on Thursday and I still have so much to do. I know it will get done though.

Have a good day everyone,
Tammi

Our trip is paid is paid for and we are all so excited. When do we get all the documents to fill out?
DH has a passport, but the rest of us our bringing Birth Cert. They have the raised seal on them. Is this all we need? I don't want to be stopped and have any problems getting checked in.

Going to start packing next week. Have no clue how I am going to get one week worth of stuff into one suitcase. :D

Everyone have a good day. :cloud9:

7 more days and then 26 days of disney magic AKL Pop C and
Disney Magic time is coming dancing again :cool1: :teleport: :rockband: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Lisa
Sorry to hear about DD. There is still plenty for her to do, I'm sure.

Gail,
Happy Chanukah!

Dorenda,
You will also need a picture I.D. like a driver's license. Kids should be fine.

To one and all,
Yeah, only 28 days til cruising. 21 until WDW! Firsts for us but very excited. Just waiting for documents and then start packing!!! Thank goodness you can take 2 suitcases per person plus carry-on. Definitely checking out using space-saver bags!
