01/04/05 4 Day Magic Roll Call

Hello all,
From a cold, wet and dark England. A few more questions if you don`t mind.
As we booked this cruise with an American TA will they get our documents and send them on or do DCL send them out directly to your home?
I`m hoping DCL will send them directly to us as I`ve read they send them out earlier to overseas guests.
Also Dsis who is joining us, has sent me an email saying -
" I`m assuming its all casual dress and I can leave the black tie and tiara at home"
What advice should I give her?

Thanks all, I appreciate all your help and advice and for making this such a great thread.

Julie.

We always book our cruises through a travel agent and all of our documents are shipped to them and they in turn contact us to arrange delivery.

Maybe you could contact the Travel agent and ask them to send them to you as soon as they get them

As for the dress question, you will get different view points depending on who you ask the question to.

Personally I follow the rule that if you are comfortable with what you are wearing then go ahead and wear it. (to clarify that I would not ever wear shorts and jeans in the dining room, except in the case of an emergency).

If you want to dress in a casual dressy style then go ahead. If you want to go all out and dress in your ball gown and tiara that is fine too.

To me it honestly does not matter what anybody else is wearing when they eat their dinner. I am there to eat, what someone else is wearing or not wearing will not make the food taste any better or any worse.

To some people it ruins their cruise if others are not dressed in tuxes and ball gowns. If you asked me what anyone was wearing in the dining rooms on my last Disney Cruise I could not tell you.

This my opinion and my opinion only :teeth:

Hi Julie

If your dinning at Palo's I think the men need a jacket. Last time
I wore velvet pants with a sparkelly (is that a word?) top.
The year befor I wore a short party dress. At the other restraunts I always dressed in nice pants or a dress. I did not
notice any tuxes or ball gowns but I am sure there were some. Some people love to get all dressed up and that works fine too.

No shorts, no jeans for dinner and you'll be fine.

Hi everyone. I got my room # today it is 8024. We are under the Adult pool. I can now order from Shirley( the perfect gift). We are not to fr from the Tow WDW suites. I would love to take a peak in on them-mabye the day we all depart.

We saw the incredibles tonight. We all LOVED it. No school tomorrow so it was nice to see the movie tonight and it was not to crowded.

Have a great night. Gail

Thanks all,
I`ll pass on your good advice to Dsis.
I`m now looking forward to getting our cabin #. I`m not too worried about which one we get, as we are just so pleased to be going on the cruise.
Have a good day everyone.

Julie.

Does anyone know if they have a drink station open all day on CC. If so, is it at Cookies BBQ? Do they have one by the adult beach? If they don't, can you bring a cooler with pop/water onto CC?

Gail, when we sailed in May, we were in stateroom 8022. Other than some occassional noise of chairs being moved around, it was actually pretty quiet. I was up and out each day by 6am, but DH did say that there was some morning noise. Nothing that really bothered him though. The kids slept like logs and the only thing that woke them was breakfast being delivered.

When we were on CC this past August they did have soda fountains in front of Cookies BBQ where you got your own drinks. I can't speak for the adult beach as I have never made it down there yet.

Since they now have a free drink stand on deck 9 I read is it still worth it to buy either the stickers or the mugs? I don't want the kids to have to worry about not being able to get something to drink.

Also, has anyone stayed at the Radisson the night before the cruise? We are and was wondering if the place is nice. I need to check to see if breakfasat is included with our room, even continental would be fine. I want the kids to eat a little something before she have to check in on the ship. DS has NO paitence at all. :yo-yo:

Andy, I highly recommend going to the adult beach.

It is so nice and peaceful there. Lots of fish to see too because there are less people in the water scaring them away.

Do they still have the sticker program??? I wouldn't think they would bother since you can just get it free at the drink station.

Keep coming up with all sorts of questions today. Guess I have to much time on my hands here at work today.

We are in state room 6062 and are supposed to have a verandah. Does anyone know what kind it will be?
I keep reading about metal ones, glass ones, and then just walls with holes in them. I'm confused.

Dorenda, I just checked my Passporter guidebook and your stateroom should have the clear, plexiglass railing on the verandah.

You might want to consider the sticker for your oldest DS if he's going to be spending a lot of time in the teen lounge. I purchased one for just my 14 year old and he got plenty of use out of it. I think the drink station is fine for everyone else. You might want to pack some plastic cups with the covers on them though. They might be easier to carry around.

On our first two cruises we had our DD with us, so we weren't able to get to the adult beach on CC. Since it will be just Hazel and I on the January cruise, I think the two of us will check out the adult beach.

We have stayed at the Radisson the night before both of our cruises, but we ordered room service for breakfast. We ate a very light breakfast, just toast, bagels and juice. We were saving up for the lunch buffet on the Magic. I know that the Radisson does have a package deal that includes breakfast, as I saw that on the Radisson website last night.

Gail,
We ALWAYS bring our noise machines (sound conditioners) with us - everywhere we go! We use them at home, too. I am an extremely light sleeper & when everyone begins coming in late @ night & leaving early in the a.m. you can hear the stateroom doors banging - no matter what deck you're on - & I find that it helps out. At least my family can sleep through everything then, even if I can't.

I am going to look into one. Our cabin also has a connecting door and I read in a few places that the walls are also thinner in that area that you can hear noise as well. I will check out to see if Brookstone sells one of these small machines.

Happy Friday to all. One more day closer to when we cruise.

Have a great day everyone. TTYL-Gail

Gail, our May stateroom was the one that connected to 8024 and we never once heard noise. I know the room was occupied with a family because we met them once out on our verandah. From our experience, there was no problem and no additional noise with the connecting door.

I believe that they still do. Also, I always bought mine through JCP & Sears catalogs. There is a place on-line that I bought one from last year, also. I'll have to look up what is was & e-mail you.

Hi everyone. Happy Saturday. We had a little bit of snow last night. Hard to believe that the cold weather is setting in. I wish at times we lived more south.
Have a great weekend everyone. One more day closer until we cruise!!! Gail
