Hi everyone. We're excited to join you all on the Father's Day cruise in 2012. Seems like a long time off but worth the wait. Roll Call info is below.

Looking forward to chatting with all of you over the next 17 months!
Welcome!

Rita will turn 12 on the very day this cruise starts.... but she's a little 12 (unless somehow in the next year she springs up- highly unlikely.... she's always been little for her age LOL)
(OmG I can't believe my BABYYYYY will be 12- ever. wahhhh)

And did I not post or PM my info for this cruise? I could have sworn I did but if I didn't-please let me know
I found it and added you to the Roll call! Sorry I missed it 1st time.

Just wanted to introduce myself to ya'll. We just booked this cruise and will be sailing with you. My name is David, DW Donna and DGD (Darling Granddaughter) Emily. This will be our 5th Disney cruise. We are doing a B2B on the Dream this September. I didn't realize this thread would be this far along. I've got some catching up to do. Looking forward to getting to know one and all!!!
Welcome!

We finally booked! I've jumped in on the Facebook page, but I'm new to the DIS page.
I'm Susan :hippie:, traveling with DH Rick , and DD Grace princess:, who will turn 8 shortly after the cruise. Funny to say, since she's only 6 now. I'll be celebrating my birthday on 6/16. What better present?!
Welcome!

Hey triplefigs,

Would you mind adding this to the first page with the other cruise logos? I am trying to see where to put it in my signature..... I can't wait to buy some t-shirts, even though it's over a year away!!!

I also like the first one you did (Mickey on the beach with the castle sand castle)....I'd love to see it in a magnet &/or bookmark!!! Maybe one will magically appear in my FE ;) :rotfl:

I really like how the first page is so organized :thumbsup2
Done!

OK...stuck at work again today....:headache:

So I remember some of you said on facebook you wanted to see more of Edge and Vibe. I am not sure if you're all familiar with Passporters, but they are a great read, it's how we supplemented these forums for our last trip! Anyway....here's some good videos I found for the kiddos while "not working" today. :rolleyes1

We will miss you!

Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted as I've been so busy - and my post today is to say "Farewell" - we canceled this cruise - we are spending pre 6/23/12 cruise at WDW rather than a back-to-back. (although I booked the 6/30 just for DH & myself - but I haven't told him yet - 7 days just isn't long enough after being on the Magic for 15 days on the Panama Canal cruise!!!!)
I know you all will have a wonderful time - a few years ago I took my older grandkids on the Western and they had so much fun.
Happy Sailing!!!!
Have fun at WDW!

Hi All -
We are saying "farewell" also. We had to reschedule to the 8/8/12 Western. I know you guys will have a great cruise and FE!
We'll miss you too!

Whoever is bringing the red wine is now my new best friend. :thumbsup2
My mom and dad have been planning the "drinks" since last October. Have planned out how many carry-ons full of wine and mixers! My kids call it "Gammy Juice" if that gives you an idea! :rotfl:

It's official.... we are joining you all for the June 16th 2012 cruise on the Fantasy. Deposits are paid!!! Not just on hold anymore. :yay: We are new to cruising, but not new to WDW trips. ;) We live in Maryland. My husband is from Pensacola Florida and I am from Dothan Alabama. I am excited about the cruise, but also nervous. This will literally be unchartered waters for us. :lmao: I look forward to getting to know you all and learn as much as I can about the Disney Cruising world. :)

Here is our information and ages of the kids at time of cruise.
Denise edk35, dh Greg, dd Brittany 21, ds Dylan 18, ds 13 Matthew
We have 5 D's, deck 6, midship, Deluxe ocean view connecting staterooms with verandahs #6570, 6572
This is our first cruise.
We are celebrating Dylan's high school graduation.
We have the second seating for dinner and a 7:00 showtime.
Welcome to another DENISE!!!

Just had to say ROLL TIDE ROLL.... I am from AL. I love BAMA FOOTBALL!!!!:thumbsup2
Roooooolll Tide Rooooolll! DH and I are both from AL (Huntsville and B'ham) and we both graduated from Bama!

I *think* the 1st page and Roll call are updated and correct. Can everyone check please?

Been really busy at work and school with the kids. Basketball is over, and DS made it to the semi-finals in the tourney. Now we're in the midst of dance class, golf, and football. Never stops! And the state testing for GA is coming up. You'd think it was life or death the way the schools freak out. We missed 5 days for snow and ice, so we didn't get a President's Day break. No breaks from Jan to mid April- yuck! Looks like we may be headed to WDW in early June for 6 days for the trio's 11th birthday and then to the beach for 4 nights. Can't wait!

And we will be brining lots of wine, beer, and Vodka/mixers. Meet ya at the pool!

Which beach are you going to? The gulf? Or somewhere near Disney? We are going home this summer in July. We are planning on renting a place at Ft. Walton again. We did this years ago. :)

We love Ft Walton. Always stay at Grayton Beach or Rosemary. Going to st. Pete this year.

Before we got addicted to Disney we used to drive down to the Gulf for a week every summer...started with PCB, then Destin, and finally went to Seagrove Beach. Grayton is really my favorite, but most of the houses are so big there - way too big for the 3 of us. But I got tried of driving 18 hours each way by myself and we discovered cheap airfare to Orlando. After one trip to WDW, I bought DVC, and, as they say, the rest is history. When the kids are old enough to help me drive, we'll start going back to the Panhandle ;)

I'm very curious to see how the beach at Castaway Cay, and the ones in St. Thomas & St. Maarten compare to the Gulf Coast. I've been to Jamaica and the Bahamas and still prefer the Panhandle beaches.

I think I'm really going to enjoy cruising with you all!!!!

BEST.........CRUISE........EVER!!! We are going to have a BLAST!!! :thumbsup2

Sounds like DH too! He is also my personal bartender.... makes deeelicious rootbeer floats, cherry floats, and vanilla floats ~ adult style. Sounds like we may have to increase our Vanilla McGillicuddys to the biggest or double up on it! :lmao: We like to share :goodvibes Is it Coke products on the ship? Sure hope so! Also, does the ship have half & half cream?

Maybe we need to ship to Silverfox97's for carry on luggage ;)

OMG - those sound delicious - we can use the free vanilla ice cream from the ship -- oohhh ohhh I want to share!!!!!

You would all laugh if you saw what we bring - thank God we drive. And, our last 2 cruises were 5 night cruises. Can't wait to see what we bring on the 7 nighters.....we have a "team lift" suitcase dubbed the MONSTER. Love it. Adore it.

I'd share, but I actually don't drink. For some reason I've never been able to stomach the taste of alcohol. I like more the girlier drinks I guess, where they hide the taste better. I can be the deisngated KTTW card holder...to make sure no one has any "accidents" lol

I am not a party animal, but I do like to unwind with a drink or so. I am laughing because you sound like my Dad (!) - when the waitress comes to the table with drinks, it's my Dad that gets the multi-colored drink with the fruit and umbrella, and my Mom who gets the vodka on the rocks. She drinks the strong stuff, he drinks the girly drinks and his cheeks get red after 1 drink

As silverfox97's personal porter I may need to charge extra :)

:rotfl: Oh DH, you are too funny :rotfl:

Whoever is bringing the red wine is now my new best friend. :thumbsup2

I am working on a Wine Cube (Target) of red sangria right now - it's nice - not too sweet or dry, yet served cold. Delish. Still have the White Sangria and Riesling in the fridge to try. I think the cashier thought I was having a party, as each box = 4 bottles of wine. Essentially, I have 12 bottles of wine in the fridge :drinking1

I love red wine and I hate drinking alone - I'd be happy to share a glass with you!

This cruise can't come fast enough. I can't believe the ship isn't even built yet!!!

:drinking1I'm all for the BYOB thing, but how do you go about serving yourself, and where? Do you bring your own corkscrew (or bottle opener) and glasses? Do you bring it to the restaurants with you? Not understand how this all works (don't want to look too tacky carrying around my box or keg :thumbsup2).

DH gets glasses from a bar, and we carry a glass of wine in with us to dinner. We both take one to Palo, and actually for dinner, we only drank once - he took in a bottle of beer, and I a glass of wine. I actually prefer to endulge later in the evening, after DD goes to bed. Laugh if you want, I bring screw off caps - the wine we have always brought is from Lonz winery, a winery from Ohio (Middle Bass Island in Lake Erie), and they are screw offs. Also, I like Relax & Barefoot wines, and they are moving away from corks and toward screw offs. We could bring a corkscrew, just haven't needed. BTW, I wouldn't bring anything if I had to incur a corking fee.

It's official.... we are joining you all for the June 16th 2012 cruise on the Fantasy.

Welcome :goodvibes

Been really busy at work and school with the kids. And we will be brining lots of wine, beer, and Vodka/mixers. Meet ya at the pool!

Welcome back triplefigs and glad to have another joining the BYOB clan We are going to have a PARTY party:

Going to st. Pete this year.
Thanks for bringing us your tourism dollars (LOL) :beach: We have friends coming from Ohio to visit and stay with us arriving June 11th and we are taking them down to St. Pete Beach, and hoping to take them down to Anna Maria Island/Bradenton Beach/Longboat Key as well. Love it down there.

We are going to Epcot for the day tomorrow - Flower and Garden Festival time :flower3:

One cruise, to make dinners a little different, my request to the assistant server each night was 'a blue drink'. Some were very good, others not as much. Some had fruits and umbrellas. It was fun to try something different, and nothing says cruising like a blue cocktail.

Speaking of sharing - I have been known to bring a rolling soft sided cooler filled with beer. Once on board, we hang out by the pools and enjoy a beverage or two. As we meet people, I have always been very eager to share, especially with newbies who did not know you could bring beer on board. It is a great start to the cruise, and a great way to meet people.

I'm one of those that didn't know you could bring your own drinks on board ... and I've been on 2 other Disney cruises! :confused3 We have always arrived the same morning the ship sets sail, so with airlines charging for bags I guess it won't help us out anyway. Do you think we can talk the Disney cruise line bus driver into making a "pit stop" at the grocery or liquor store? :rotfl2:

On our 1st Disney cruise DH bought a Disney beer mug so wherever we went he took his mug with him and beer a few $ less since we purchased the mug. We kept it and took it on our 2nd cruise; and I'm sure he won't forget it this time. Me, I like the fruity drinks where you don't taste too much of the alcohol. We too aren't big party animals but enjoy relaxing with a beverage or two. For adult night, we enjoyed the piano bar on the Magic and "got our groove on" at the disco club on "retro night". :rockband: Hey, moms and dads can have FUN too! :rotfl:

No ice cream is needed for the floats :lmao:... they are adult style w/ McGillicudy's vanilla schnapps! :rotfl:

I just like to unwind too! Hope there is a piano bar on board.... that would be a blast! :dance3:

I've finally caught up with all the posts on this thread! Wow!! So much action and still 15 months 8 days to go! (I keep a countdown on my iphone!!) ;)

I too cannot wait to unwind by the adult (bucket) pool with a glass of "stronger" beverage! However, I'm a "bubbly" kind of girl, so I can't wait to check out "Pink"!!

We plan to stay at a WDW resort a few days before embarking on the ship. So far we've done Caribbean Beach Resort, and are doing Port Orleans (French Quarter) before our October cruise. Right now I'm thinking perhaps the Poly. Not sure though, as they haven't yet released the prices for next year at the WDW resorts...

I have one question for this group...do you think it is worth while to try Remy if you are a picky eater? DH would love to go, but he wants to make sure there will food for me to enjoy. I do not care too much for meat or poultry and I soo dislike fish and seafood! You could say I'm a kind of vegetarian by default. Do you think they might have vegetarian options? If I could only do with a small appetizer plus dessert and wine pairings, that would be fine and dandy!!:thumbsup2

@SuzieArk...we'll be celebrating our bday on the same day...yay!! :bday:
@ssanders79....can you please count us in for the Secret Mickey! (our stateroom is #10564) Thankyou!

Best,

We are staying at the TradeWinds Island Grand. Looks like they have ton of stuff for kids and a new "waterpark" in the ocean. Do you know anything about it?

Nope - looks beautiful, though. That paddle boat ride looks like fun. I am sure you will have a great time.

I had one blue drink (well, more turquoise) - it was an "Ocean cruiser" and it was might fine ;)

It's been two days with no postings on our meet thread, and we got bumped to page 3.

So, some random thoughts...

Anyone watch Survivor? I have to admit, I smiled after the dual on Redemption Island.

We are under a flood watch. Tons of rain today, on top of a lot of rain last weekend. It is so good to see rivers and creeks with water in them.

DD14(16 at the time of the cruise) has a big dance convention/competition this weekend. She competed her solo for the first time this year last weekend.

DD12(14 at the time of the cruise) is finishing her gymnastics season. Just the State Meet left for her in 2.5 weeks.

My boss is in WDW this weekend. I am wondering if he heard the sonic boom from Discovery today.

I bought a Seagate GoFlex Home drive last weekend. It is nice knowing my data is being backed up.

Enough randomness. Hope everyone has a good night.

I've been lurking and haven't checked in, but following all the latest postings. :surfweb:
5 1/2 weeks until my FIRST Disney cruise, 10 days on the Wonder in the Mexican Riviera. Beyond excited. The Wonder is out of Long Beach so less than half hour drive from home. Love it. :yay:
Weather in SoCal...you name it, we've had it (well, all but the blizzards and snow) So windy on Monday, my patio umbrella hopped the fence and the cars and traveled down the street. DD likened it to Mary Poppins. Around 80 today.
Couldn't pull up the SM/FE list, but we want to be on both. We are: Susan (me), Rick (DH) and Grace DD (7 at sailing) The older kids are welcome to join us, but they'll have to buy their own tickets.
