Stephanie - I just noticed you are on the cruise meet for the June 26 Dream cruise too. We are booked on that sailing but I think we have to cancel for a variety of reasons - my DD12 is going to be dancing at Disney, including a parade! in the days just prior to that and thus we are going to be at WDW then and going on the cruise is going to be too many days away. Haven't canceled yet but I havent' been active on the thread either since I thought we would. Trying to work out our summer plans before I actually cancel it (or move it to a future date since it was an onboard booking..) Just thought it was funny that we were both on these two upcoming sailings!

Oh Jeff! Hope you don't have to cancel! I am so excited to be on the Dream, but a little afraid I won't like it as much as the Magic! the 26th cruise is the second half of our b2b, which we have never done! Congrats to your daughter! Dancing at Disney...doesn't get much better than that! Hope you can work it out to do both!!!!

We are closing on the refinance today which is great, especially since we are taking 2 years off the current mortgage, paying off the second (which we got to put an addition on 8 years ago) and getting some cash out for some home repair/upgrades.

Congrats on the refinance! Always is nice to have things work out in your favor!

so...I emailed DCL to ask when I would get my GTY cabin assignment, and instead I got a lecture on what GTY means. Ok...I know what it means, I was just asking if they knew my room number yet! gah!!!

Ugh! More pixie dust that your stateroom assignment comes through soon. And hoping the wait is for a nice little upgrade! Hang in there!

Time's a wasting. What do you have left to do?

It's more like what don't I have to do! Let's see...
1. Finish up FE gifts
2. Pack
3. Legal Change Packs testing at work
4. Pack
5. Christmas shopping (ack! forgot about this!)
6. Pack
7. Figure out what the heck we are doing for Thanksgiving
8. Pack
9. Shop for the remainder of our toiletries
10. Leave for cruise!

Well the final piece to my FE gifts surprised me and was completed early. I got the call about them this morning.

Gotta love those surprises!!!

Fun! I'm still waiting for mine. According to USPS tracking it should arrive on Monday! Much earlier than I expected! Where did everyone order their FEs from? Mine is coming from Jen at Stitches and Bows. She is an absolute sweetheart!

Ok, remember earlier this week how I said I cleared the area to put together my FE goodies and lay out my luggage to pack? Well, that plan was shot to pieces! My mom-in-law came in unexpectedly today, so I had to quickly move all the FE things out of the guest bedroom and into the dining room. Also that means no packing this weekend. Ack!

On the bright side, we will be cruising in 3 weeks and a day!!!

Darcy-Yipee!!! on the refi. We go to closing on ours next Thursday. 11/11 at 11 am. LOL. I am not going to be getting any money, but the idea of shaving 7 years off the loan and more than $100k in interest makes me all warm and fuzzy.

S&J - dinner clothes, honestly I think just about anything goes. I have seen it ALL. I personally put my kids in khakis with dress shirts, polo shirts etc. on formal night I have them wear a tie with the dress shirt. I just think is looks nicer. We all pretty much wear business casual most of the nights. Dress slightly nicer on semi-formal and formal nights. I dress about the same both of those nights. BUT Pirate night is my favorite!!!!

I also can't wait to see our dining rotation.

DS is sick, DJ is sick, and now I'm sick. What a big bummer. Now what to do about our John Mellencamp tix tonight?? There goes my weight loss plan ... and I was doing so good (well, except for the candy binging after Halloween). Sore throat and stuffy nose just stink.

Jeff - that is wonderful that your DD gets to dance at Disney! I woul dhave LOVED to do that when I was a kid (who am I kidding, I'd love to do that NOW!).

Annabel - sorry you are all sick, but just think, you are getting it out of your way so no one is sick on vacation!

Stephanie - you were right about my kids wanting to do another Disney cruise. DS was asking me about the name of the ship for this cruise (we were on the Wonder last year) and the new one. Then I said there is another new on in 2012 that is the same size as the Dream. He got all excited and I said, so you will want to do another Disney cruise in a few years?

OH YEAH!!!!

I have definitely created more Disney-phobes in this house!

Now to convince DH that we can swing ONE MORE cruise on Disney in a few years....


We sail 3 weeks from today! Right now we will probably be getting up for some breakfast before the car comes to get us at the hotel to head for port.

Okay, now I've totally scared myself. Gotta go clean the house..it's cleaning weekend. I am doing the basic cleaning this AM, then it's on to the kids' closets (send the search and rescue part if I don't post by tonight), and switch over my clothes.

Tomorrow DH and I (and the kids - bribed with extra allowance $) are cleaning out our back storage room...

Time's a wasting? What do you have left to do. Here's our list:

2. Pick up over the door shoe hanger
3. Make some new door magnets
4. Work my butt off to make clients happy before I take off for a week.
5. Stay healthy.
6. Clean up the few things still in the extra bedroom from our LAST vacation before considering packing.
7. Christmas shop
8. Take two business trips.
9. Pack.
10. Go on vacation!

Yikes. Now I'm really stressed.

EEEKS - everyone’s lists have reminded me of several things that I have to add to mine. Work is over the top busy but I was able to put off a trip to San Fran and Boston. It will make Dec or Jan crazy, but I’ll worry about that later!

Annabel - So sorry that you and your family are sick. I hope you have a speedy recovery At least you’ll have all of the Kooties out of your system!

We arrive at 7:30 that night...grab some dinner and relax before the next day.

I am EXHAUSTED from cleaning the house. However, it looks (and smells) really clean. It does feel good to see it this way. We tossed a LOT from the kids' rooms, and tomorrow it's on to the storage area (that will also generate a lot of garbage).

I have things for our town thrift store that I need to drop off. Now I'm off to run a few errands for CRUISE THINGS!!!

I love when my house has had a good clean...that's for next week when I have the 4 day weekend....I am excited for next week....I only have to work 3 days!

I’m so happy I don’t have to buy new ones. Who would have thought, it was in a plastic tote on a shelf in the basement labeled “DVC and Cruise stuff”! I never remember where I put stuff!

Now my question is - Do we have to bring lanyards or will they give us new ones????

am I the only one who feels unprepared for this trip? I normally do a ton of research etc. but I have been so busy with moving and packing and DH starting a new job and building a house I haven't had time to do everything I want.

I so need to do some more research. What is everyone doing Key west day? i think we are just walking around on our own.
