~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Burrrr...it's cold in our house! We are fighting turning on the heat until next month, if we can hold out!

I wish I could just pack a couple of shoes, but I need to bring a pair for each outfit (I'm a bit of shoe freak!) I always have the heaviest bag in the house, but like I tell DH, I need a selection while we're on vacation!

Still not done with my FE gifts! Have everything ordered and will put them together as soon as I have everything in-hand...I wish everything would just come already!

I am obsessing over the packing list and getting a bit crazed, so I think I need to take a couple days off from vaca planning and give my mind a break...hehe!

Have a great day!

Hey everyone! I haven't started packing, but I have been strategizing since we only want to check 2 bags and manage those baggage fees. :) I know that we will still carry on 2 smaller suitcases. I am regretting not booking Southwest for the free bags!

I think that I have all the FE gifts, but I need to organize everything and determine if I need to ship it down or they can fit in the suitcase. I bet I will have to ship it. I am just nervous about it getting there...

We are definitely shipping ours down in our "send ahead" box. We are flying Jet Blue and do get 1 bag per person free, but we will need all the room we can for our clothes & stuff. We are sending ahead much of our newly purchased toiletries and things we won't need leading up to the trip.

Good Afternoon All:

My FE projects are laying on the kitchen table and are moved nightly to make room for dinner. Maybe they will get done when soccer is over for the season. :rotfl2:

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. This weekend was a whirlwind. Soccer then my brother was put in the hospital on Sunday morning. He's doing better but I still have to make a trip to the hospital at least once daily to see him and give him crap.

I swear that the cruise is the only thing I think about these days (much to the chagrin of my bosses). I've been looking at new cameras because ours gave up the ghost in November of LAST YEAR. We had driven three hours to see Wicked and no usable camera. (DANG IT) So I've been surviving by borrowing my son's camera. I think its time I got my own again.

I'm still waiting to hear from Air Tran as to the luggage fees. I'm hoping that the takeover will happen quickly so my bags can go on vacation too. If not my packing list may get cut in half. I too am hoping to have some of my stuff mailed down before the cruise. I've tried in years past but am a last minute kind of person when it comes to getting it all done.

I hope everyone is well. I lurk whenever I can. Most of the time I don't post because I honestly don't have anything intelligent to say. Just call my Thumper. Actually my sissy calls me Flower (the skunk) because we were walking one night and a skunk came up and she used me as a rebounder to get away from the skunk hurling me closer to the little bugger. No, I did not get sprayed but she has yet to live down the fact that she used me as a human shield. Thus the reason I have Flower as my avatar.

Now that you know TOO much about me, I better get back to work. We have a hospital visit and a meeting for my DS school tonight. Oh JOY.

Have a great evening all, I will be lurking tomorrow.

Hey Tonya - nice to see you post....I don't have anything intelligent to say either, but post often. :lmao:

Hope your brother is doing better.

Rachael - I am so happy for the no baggage fees for Jet Blue as well! We typically check 2 bags for the 4 of us and we each have carry ons. Of course on the way HOME we usually check at least 1 more bag (we pack an empty duffle bag in our suitcases) for the souvies and/or FE gifts that we have to get home! Works like a dream (or should I say MAGIC), and since they are free on JB (1 per person) even better!

I treid to send my document with all my magnet logos to work to print, but apparently it's too big with all in one doc, so will have to split them up. I'd love to get those printed/laminated and done.

I havent 'made much progress on my FE gifts (okay none, except they are sitting on my dining room table to be customized). Packing, not as much as I'd hoped (that is on the list for this weekend and next since sports will be over).

I have a bag of stuff from last year (pirate bandanas, magnets from last year, etc) all set aside, but still need to figure out what I need to get: shirt/tie/pants for DS, sunblock, etc.

I need to get moving since we are at 5 1/2 weeks! YIKES! :scared1:

Hi All! I'm another one with nothing really to say, except that I cannot wait for the cruise to get here!

Thinking about buying an underwater digital camera, but trying to justify it. Not sure I will have much use for it other than for cruises, and I have two perfectly good digital cameras (Canon and Kodak).

My days have mostly been spent trying to figure out what I am going to put in the FE's for teen/pre-teen boys! :rotfl: If that's my biggest concern these days, I think I will survive (my boss would probably have a fit if she knew that is at the forefront of my worries all day long!).

Shoes? For every outfit? Wowsa! I wear my Reef flips everywhere unless required otherwise. For those moments I have one standard pair of casual shoes and one pair of fancy shoes. When I moved to Florida, the shoes went to the wayside!

Ok, major procrastination here...I better get back to those FE gifts!

I definitely want to bring some goggles this time. DH loved looking at all the fish and things in teh water at castaway cay (he is like a big kid) I also want to get him an underwater camera so he can take pictures and have fun with it (disposable one)

my shirt from this summer I made with my name on it for our sumemr crise got ruined so I ned to make another one. I have the transfer paper just no shirt. so much to do!:surfweb:

oh! We have the Mexican cooking class...hope it's showing as not available because it's full and not because they canceled it. Check again once you are onboard...sometimes people cancel out excursions...

Yes, I am sure that it is full....totally bummed that we couldn't get it. I am going to try onboard for sure!!:cool1:

We bought the Olympus about 2 years ago and absolutely love it. I have one of the Canon IS's and love it too, but truth be told, the Olypus is so much smaller and lighter and takes darn good pictures. Not only can I use it in the water, but in the rain even :goodvibes

Ooooh...now you've got me interested. What model Olympus do you have?

Just stopping in to say hi! Super excited....impatient, but I know it will be here before I know it. I love hearing that people are starting to pre-pack, it means its almost time.

On the Thanksgiving cruise right before this one it sounds like people are starting to receive their cruise docs! :cool1::banana::yay::cheer2:

We just booked ourselves on the Nov 27th cruise. This is a last minute add on for my DH, Son(9) and Daughter (6). We are really looking forward to getting back on the Magic.

See you soon!

Donna

I was hoping for more info as well....I'd love it if the Magic moves to sail out of NY! They didn't say what the Magic will be doing after April at all. And, I'm glad we are doing the Western now, and not on Fantasy as they are changing the Key West port to Costa Maya instead. Key West is the port I'm most excited to visit, quite honestly!

The Magic is going to the Med permanently. Wonder will stay on the West coast as its new home too... There will be a few specialty cruises that the Magic will take but no more northern Europe. At least not for at least 3 years.

:cheer2:Welcome Donna!:cheer2:

I have step two done on the FE gifts...they are on my breakfast table...and they stay there! Sulley and I have taken to eating in the family room on the couch...see what slugs you become when you don't have kids at home any longer> :rotfl:
We use the dining room only when both boys and their families are here and the breakfast table if it's just one boy and fam. Otherwise, give me an 'S' Pat! :happytv:

Yes, I want to know what model as well! I have been debating on whether to get a new waterproof camera or not....we have used the disposable underwater before for snorkling, but they aren't the greatest photos. Just trying to figure out if I can justify another new camera. I bought one last year for our trip to WDW & the cruise (not waterproof obviously!)

We have an underwater case for our Canon digital...works like a champ and much less expensive than an underwater camera. Added benefit is keeps sand out on the beach as well! :thumbsup2
