~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

The Magic is going to the Med permanently. Wonder will stay on the West coast as its new home too... There will be a few specialty cruises that the Magic will take but no more northern Europe. At least not for at least 3 years.

WOW - where did you find that information?

We have an underwater case for our Canon digital...works like a champ and much less expensive than an underwater camera. Added benefit is keeps sand out on the beach as well! :thumbsup2

Hope you feel better soon Rachael! :flower3: Good luck with the troop...

I've been hesitant about the cases, wasn't sure they really worked. That would be a great compromise so I don't have to spend the $$ on another camera....

Morning folks! Another day dawns...another day closer!! :goodvibes And I don't think I ever have anything to really contribute to the conversation either! Yet somehow I keep posting! :lmao:

Tonya - I hope your brother is doing better :thumbsup2

Welcome to Donna & Family! :cheer2:

I did a few more of my FE gifts on Monday. I have about 9 or 10 left to finish up and then I am done. I could easily get them finished, I just haven't had enough time to really get myself situated and knock them out. Maybe tonight! ;) I will definitely be shipping my stuff down ahead of time so I don't have to mess with trying to pack. We are flying Continental so baggage fees apply!

I need to figure out comfy shoes as I don't do flip-flops - I can't stand to have that little thing between my toes - and trust me I've tried! :rotfl2: I will have a pair of "fancy" shoes - but they are really high and only good for an hour or so. I still also need one more top to pair up with something and then I think I'm good to go. DH is set, although one more shirt wouldn't hurt. We are still in all our shorts etc., so no early packing for me.

They really do work well! We've used ours several times and as long as you follow the directions, it will be fine. Just be careful opening it that you've wiped down the outside first! :rolleyes1

I can't imagine life without my flipflops! :scared1:
I can't do heels at all because of my knee, so I have found ballet flats are a good alternative for dressy. I've even gone to David's bridal to get them and have them dyed to match my dress.

Hey everyone! I found some great FE gifts at Michael's yesterday. Now I definitely need to ship a box. Can someone remind me when I need to ship it by? I know it is on the website somewhere too.

Thanks,
Stephanie

DD and I also started packing her luggage for the trip. We having a hard time finding something for her to wear on formal night. The girls size 16 dresses are too small or short and the teen dresses seem a little inappropriate IMHO . We'll keep looking.

Gailyn:)

Gailyn - you might want to check out http://www.blushkids.com/. There are lots of cute dresses that are sold at very inexpensive prices. I bought my DS a little suit from this site and it's adorale! :goodvibes

For those of you looking for inexpensive boys' dressy clothes, check out www.tinytux.com.

I'm the queen of online shopping. Can't drag me to a store these days. I get so many great deals online and don't have to pay taxes nor shipping. LOVE IT! Happy shopping everyone!

I really need to read through this thread more closely! Hi Donna! Welcome aboard!!!

Annabel -Thanks for letting me know. I'm going to check it out tonight!!!

Donna - :welcome: I'm so glad you and your family are joining us!!! Our DS just turned 11 - so a little older, but not much.

I'm so excited that I have 4 pages to catch up on since the weekend!

Back to reading!

Yes, I want to know what model as well! I have been debating on whether to get a new waterproof camera or not....we have used the disposable underwater before for snorkling, but they aren't the greatest photos. Just trying to figure out if I can justify another new camera. I bought one last year for our trip to WDW & the cruise (not waterproof obviously!)

Welcome Donna and Family! I have a DS and DD that will be almost 9 when we sail, looks like there are several kids in that age group which is great!

I will post some info about my camera later today. Sorry, I have been swamped the last couple of days with people deciding they want to book disney for Christmas break and of course the new ship itineraries....need to take a breather!!! :goodvibes It is going to be really busy for me before we go, not sure how I am going to fit it all in (worked til 10:30 last night and was back at work at 7:00 this morning)

Oh.......did i mention, I love my camera!!!!!!!! lol!:lmao:

While this is not a waterproof camera, we've been exceedingly pleased with it ... Flip Video Ultra HD. It's actually a HD video camera that comes with a usb drive that plugs right into your computer. It's the size of a small cellphone and exceedingly easy to use (b/c you have only 1 button to turn on/off and 1 button to record or stop). The best part? When you upload it to your computer, you can pick & choose the frame you want and keep that as your picture. Meaning, you can actually get a "perfect shot," even with a squirmy 3-yo who never sits still. It's awesome. :woohoo: I think DH said he bought it for less than $100. PLUS, the resolution is awesome!

Wow packing and FE gifts already, lol. I figured I would do that stuff in the 5 days between wedding and heading down to Florida. Guess helps we can just drive down. I did buy the stuff for FE and 2 new dresses for cruise, so I think that counts towards something.
Get to take the night off from work tonight to go to a welcome home dinner with Matt, and out with some friends to comedy night afterwards. So I am sitting here watching the clock till I get to leave--3hrs and counting...
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Ladies and Gents:

I seem to be suffering a debilitating episode of cranial rectal inversion. Does anyone have the address "WHERE" to mail the stuff to the boat? I can't find my note and am getting my folder together of all my smatterings' of information for the cruise.

Many thanks and Please and thank you.

Now that that is over....

Life is good here. Brother out of the hospital. He had let his diabetes get a little out of control (who am I kidding, way out of control) and throught he was having a stoke. They have got him patched up and he was released last night. Thanks for all the warm thoughts and prayers. He's a big pain in my *** but he's my only brother still living.

Soccer is beginning to wind down, two more weeks for us and then someone else can be in charge for awhile. Then I just become an employee rather than an employer.

My DS is a freshman in HS. He's killing us with his grades. :scared1: We have been doing homework every night so I truly hope I get to at least watch Gray's Anatomy tonight without disruption. (Family knows not to call during the show)

FE's are still sitting staring at me from the kitchen table. I think I will move them to my office so they won't be able to stare at me so much. I feel bad not working on them, but only one calamity at a time for the family.

I hope all is well. I think that we are all in need of a vacation and soon. Thank goodness its NEXT MONTH.

Good night all, I'm off to referee grown men that attempt to still play soccer.

Cold drinks and warm breezes to you all.

Tonya - glad to hear your brother is doing better. :goodvibes

I copied this from the DCL sticky on the main forum about shipping:

Boxes Sent the Ship Ahead of Cruise - PLEASE follow these instructions carefully!!!!!! UPDATED AS OF 2/25/2009
• ONE box per stateroom, no exceptions.
• The package must have the guest full name, ship, sailing date, stateroom number or GTY if you have not been assigned a stateroom number.
• The package also must have a packing slip attached to the outside of the box that details the contents of the package. For prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient. Your list may or may not be read but it must have one. Write packing slip on the outside of the envelope.
• NO FOODS/DRINKS OF ANY KIND, LIQUOR OF ANY KIND, FIREARMS, ETC.. Items that cannot be shipped to the Disney Cruise Line Warehouse and delivered to the ship include: food products (any and all food products including baby food/formula), beverages (liquor, water, etc.), chemicals, and luggage. These items will not be accepted at the warehouse and will be returned. This may cause the dogs to hit on your box and that would be a bad thing.
• The required size of the cartons you are shipping down have to be about the size of a record storage box 12 inches on a side and should not weigh more than 20 lbs. (This has been asked personally by Dave Adams who is the owner)

Address your package(s) to:
Disney Cruise Line Warehouse
Guest Name / Stateroom # (GTY, if you don't know what it is when you send the package)
8633 Transport Drive
Orlando, FL 32832
Phone: 407-566-8196

In the bottom left corner of the top of the package put the following information: ATTN: HOUSEKEEPING
*Name
*Sail Date
*Ship
*Stateroom Number
*Packing slip that details contents of the package (for prescriptions, a copy of the prescription is sufficient)
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 7-Night Cruise on the Disney Magic (Saturday).
• Packages must arrive by Friday by 3:00pm for the 4-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Sunday).
• Packages must arrive by Wednesday by 3:00pm for the 3-Night Cruise on the Disney Wonder (Thursday).

If your box is hit on by the screening dog or chosen for additional screening they will open the list and the box and look through it. They will close it back up and provided nothing bad is in it then it will be in your room as usual later after boarding. These boxes will be coming on the ship with the crew mail among other things so they may be in the staterooms later then they were before as they are low priority in the scheme of things for Disney.

If you DO NOT want to concern yourself with the carrying of ''stuff'' home that you have purchase or too much to take on the plane, you can take it over to their place of business or they will be more than glad to pick it up from Cocoa Beach, Cape Canaveral and they will ship anywhere and everywhere. They are UPS and FEDEX office. Owners are Raul and Dwane - super nice folks to work with and very accomodating to your shipping needs. Must mention this board for discount.

THANK YOU. I looked on the boards and couldn't find it. I'm usually not that impatient. THANK AGAIN.

Tonya - so glad to hear that your brother is out of the hospital :flower3:

I came home early from work today with a bad cold. I just hope Greg and the kids don't come down with it! I have so much to catch up on at home and at work from being out of down last week :scared1:.

Rachel - I hope you had a nice night out! Sounds like fun.

I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday!!
