~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Hi DIs Board, I found this site today and was reading all the posting so nice that so many of you are on here discussing the cruise. I am also on this cruis I have a group of 45 and am getting married on CC stop. So I am very excited about this trip. I have never been on the Disney Cruise, but my future inkaws rave about it they just did the mediterranin Disney so they are professional Disney Cruisers. Well cant wait to read the post as we get closer to the cruise so excited!:rotfl:

Welcome and how exciting to be getting married on CC :cool1: 45 in your group is huge - how nice that so many are going to be there :goodvibes

I wish they would come out with the new Passporter and make all of our lives a lot easier! :rotfl:

I hope everyone had a great 4th yesterday. We are kicking back and enjoying the day off today...I wish we had 3 day weekends every week!

Jen, Welcome and congratulations on the wedding. Sounds exciting.

I had some time today, so I started to put something together for a logo. Here is my first shot. Feel free to suggest changes, add comments. This is just a work in progress.

Love the logo, but can it say cruising into the winter holidays instead of Christmas? :)

This summer is crazy busy. I have had to stop obsessing about the cruise (which is a good thing) becuase there is so much going on.

Wow - A wedding on CC! So exciting!!!!!

Stephanie

Thanks Stephanie.

I wasn't a fan of Cruising into Christmas either, some of the other options I have thought of since:

Leaving the leftovers behind and cruising toward Christmas.
Leaving the leftovers behind and avoiding the snow
Leaving the leftovers behind and cruising toward the Winter Holidays.
Leaving the leftovers behind and starting our Christmas (or holiday) shopping in the Carribean. {I think this is my favorite so far)
Leaving the leftovers behind to watch Mickey decorate his tree.

As the day goes on, some more might come to me.

Good job on coming up with the logo so far :) I don't have any brilliant ideas but I think short & sweet is better - catchy ;) We may be better to leave references out about Christmas or Winter Holiday, IMO there's two sides to that argument no matter if you leave it or change it. (just my 2 cents)

Random one I just thought of...

"Leaving leftovers behind and heading West to paradise"

Oooo. I like Jenny's idea:

"Leaving leftovers behind and heading West to paradise"

Thanks for working on this for us!

Hi everone thanks for the warm welcome...so I may sound silly but what is the 2010 passporter and what are passport cards that I keep reading about??? this stuff is all so new to me and I want to make sure I dont make any mistakes...I mean I have been on the Carnival cruise and I have a passport but my fiances children need passports still and we r working on it. Love the logo idea, what do you do with it? is it like a ticker on ur page or are you going to affix it to a shirt? I am so excited to hear about all the great things you know about disney cruise line since this is my first disney cruise...any idea what I should od first....I can not book anything even though its paid in full I have to wait lol...but any idea what I should do as far as excusrsions and stuff I mean my wedding is not until the friday so I want to have lots of fun...what r the best nights to go to th discos and also what attire is most appropriate at dinner in the evenings? how is Paolo as a romatic dinner rest? so please advice is what I need let me now what i should be looking into...thanks

I love this "title!"

only 40 days til Palo and excursions? YIKES! I wasn't thinking about that, but that is very true (and 40 days til final payment date - GULP!)

I really hope the passporter comes out in time, I do have the e-version but I'd rather have the book to read on the go. Maybe I'll print the Wester Excursion pages at work to have to read at the pool....I also need to go on Cruise Critic to find some thoughts on these excursions.

So much to do! Today DD is getting her pallete expander at the orthodontist, so wish I had thought to print the excursions before today to read there!

If you haven't already, check out the FAQ "sticky" at the top of the cruise boards, you will find a birds eye view of all things important. :o)

The Passporter is a great guide book (they have their own website) and we are anxiously awaiting the 2010 version for DCL.

The passport cards are like a travel passport, however are only for land/sea vacations, not for air travel (if I recall). You may want to check the government website for info on the passports and what is required for your DF's kids to get theirs.

I can't help on excursions as I haven't figured that out yet, but on cruise critic, they have review of lots of them, so I will be checking that out. I also haven't eaten at Palo (yet) but have heard great reviews. It's adults only, and has an extra surcharge...

HTH a little! Happy Planning!

I second Darcy's suggestion of looking at the FAQ's in the stickies. This is our first cruise and those links answered about every question that I had! There's lots of good reading there about every question that you had - be prepared for information overload!! :surfweb: ;)

Lots of us are still debating the excursions, there are several to choose from at each port and basically boils down to 2 things, what you want to do and how much $$ you have to do it! :) The other thing to throw in the mix is whether you are going to do a DCL excursion or one on your own - that adds all kinds of variables. :) My understanding is that the night clubs all get pretty quiet by midnight (think people with young(er) families) and the FAQ's has all the answers on suggested dining attire for each night of your dining rotation (which btw is confusing to me and I'm STILL not sure I've figured it out!) :rotfl:

Darcy - The 90 day mark is for CC members, right? I don't think I can make reservations until 45.

I like the graphic!
Last I heard over on Passporters is the 2010 DCL Guide is at the printers and they are expecting the galleys soon for proofing. Then it will be printed. Hopefully in time for our cruise!

Do we have a list of everyone yet? I have to put us in for the FE, I FINALLY got my 10 posts in! :surfweb:

I can't wait!!! It won't be long now!!

It's 75 days (paid-in-full day) for everyone else.

Thanks for that - I'm sure I have it written down in the planning spreadsheet extraordaire - but I'll make sure I have it right.

Love the new graphic - very cute! :thumbsup2

Wow - our FE list is growing! :)

Ahh - shore excursions - glad to see I'm not the only one undecided! I have spent hours reading reviews, looking at costs, etc. and :confused3! I am 99% sure we are doing the trolley on our own for Key West, and a Dolphin Excursion through DCL at Cozumel. That leaves Grand Caymen. This company has cool looking charters like Rum Point/Stingray City or the Eco Tours if anyone is interested: http://cozumelcruiseexcursions.com/Grand_Cayman_Excursions_Tours.htm

My big dilemma is if that is too much water activity? What if the water is cold? Grand Caymen also has some cool jeep and dune buggy tours...anyone want to chime in?? I'd love to hear other thoughts!

And CKCruising - cool graphic! Thanks for working on it!

SI-Jen - congrats on your engagement/getting married! And a wedding on Castaway Cay - how fun will that be!

I have the exact same planning predicament! Don't you just love the "what if" game??? Water temps are my biggest concern, plus, just planning TOO much and not having enough "go with the flow" time :confused3 If it wasn't so much fun to plan it would really be a pain to have all these "problems" :rotfl: I think we are planning the same excursions as you, but I'm leaning toward leaving Cayman as a beach day on our own or just "go with the flow".

Thanks....how did you know that Key West is the character breakfast? everyone has that on the same day? We have only done a 3 day, so excited for these "extras' in the 7 day.

The character breakfast will be on one of three days (each dining rotation is on a different day)...The two sea days and the Key West day. I don't think you know which one it will be until you board.
