~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Oh Popovich - your WDW pre and post make it a nice long Disney vacation - yeah!!!

We booked airfare yesterday, ended up Direct Air into Sanford. Hopefully car rentals from there won't be too bad. SW just didn't come through on prices :(

This week has been crazy with the kids getting out of school and no camp schedule yet. Hopefully things will be back on track next week!

Camp/summer is so crazy to plan! Luckily, our camp started on Monday (school was out last Wednesday) so a friend took my kids on Thursday and I work at home on Friday. HOWEVER...our camp ends almost 3 weeks before school starts! I found one of the camp counselors to watch my kids for 1 week and then DH and I are splitting the resto f the time before school starts. Camps and schools just don't seem to care about working parents and scheduling at all!!!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one feeling overwhelmed with camp schedules and summer carpooling! It never seems like they make camp schedules with working parents in mind - lots of 11 am - 1 and 1 - 3 sports camp times. It makes me crazy.

Fortunately, my mom and Greg's mom do a lot of carpool driving for me and a few of my girlfriends don't work, but I feel like I'm not pulling my weight.

I'm watching a friend's son this weekend while they are at Casino Windsor for their anniversary. It works out great because my DS is entertained and the boys are so easy.

We're having mulch delivered tomorrow - we're a little late but better than never. Unfortunately, it's supposed to be 90 degrees the rest of the weekend!! Oh well, maybe I'll drop a few pounds LOL!:rotfl:

Still watching prices for airfare..........

:goodvibes Good luck to all those still waiting on airfare, it's such a hassle.

Is anyone else melting from the heat?

My passport came today  one more thing to check off my list.

I have seen some good things for the FE but I'm hesitant to start buying things because I have no real idea how many rooms/people we'll be looking at in the end. :crazy2: I'm such a planner that I'd like to get started on it now but this will be good practice at patience :bored:

Jenny - glad you got your passport and jealous you can check that off your list! We are applying for ours in 2 weeks when both DH and I are on vacation since we both have to be there. I think I am going to just get the card for the kids since I do not see us flying internationally anytime in the next 5 years...

It was a hot and muggy weekend here too! Tomorrow is supposed to be worse - ugh. They definitely do not make camp schedules and summer activities easy for working parents. But at least they are there as an option thank goodness! Billy is going to the same camp all summer because it is at the gym where he does gymnastics so he can just go to practice from camp. Natalie is going to 3 different camps which makes it crazier!

I cannot believe it is almost July 4 already though - that is amazing!

5 months!!!

Wow - time is speeding on by! :goodvibes June seems to have just flown...before you know it July will be over with and then the rush to get the kids back to school will begin. :rotfl:

It sounds like everyone is crazy/busy with camp/summer break schedules. I hope you can all get some R&R in there somewhere. :cool2:

WOO HOO!!! It can't come fast enough for me. Work is totally insane and busy, and I cannot wait to relax on Deck 9 with a cocktail in my hand while the kids are in the pool....

Ahhh that sounds SO lovely as I sit here in a sweltering gym waiting for practice to end! First time I've ever posted from my phone so if it looks wierd I'm the first to admit I stink at technology!

Doesn't look weird at all....now you can surf the DIS and post from anywhere. :thumbsup2

I am still anxiously awaiting the 2010 Passporter. I have the 2009, but I just MUST HAVE the latest. :lmao: Last update I have is that it is in pre-press...so still not sure when it will be here. I guess their last estsimate of shipping in mid-late June is out the window as we are already in LATE June. sigh.

Off to finish getting ready for work....

I think it's time to create a graphic for our cruise. Does anyone have any ideas for a name and/or logo?

I have no idea how to make a graphic... :surfweb:
Good luck ! :goodvibes

Anyone else thinking of trying Boatswains on their own?
I think we'll try Key West on our own as well.
We want to do the dolphin swin in Cozumel, so we'll stick with Disney for that I think...

We were thinking of Boatswain's on our own. I didn't want to be tied to group transportation and extra stops with a 2 year old involved. Thinking we won't be gone 5 hours, and that is what the DCL tour looks like. We wouldn't be snorkling either. Also thought about a brief stop at the beach and wanted to look through some shops in town - albeit quickly.

Sorry if this double posts - technical difficulties this morning! :surfweb:

Good idea on the graphic - I can help with that if needed. Coming up with something is going to need some creative thinking...didn't we all agree we aren't very creative! :lmao: This popped into my mind...but I don't love it, just throwing it out there... "Leaving Turkey Leftovers to go cruise with Mickey" :confused3

No idea on a name or graphic. Last year we were the Winter Wonder Cruisers and millipie did ours because she was on our cruise.

We are doing the dolphin encounter on our own because Disney won't let us book our 2 year old but the operators offer under 36 inches free. We've called and it isn't a problem for him to come. I guess Disney just has liability issues??? Key West is on our own too. My hubby and older son are doing the pirate museum and something else while I eat my key lime pie. How many places are there to eat it? I want to hit them all :dance3:

Work has been so busy this week that I haven't had time to sign on. I had so much to catch up on popcorn::

Chris - I think the idea of a graphic is a good one. I can't believe it's only 5mos away!!!:yay::yay::yay:

It's going to be 90 degrees today and we have 5 yards of mulch to put down so I will really be thinking of sitting on deck 9 with an umbrella drink in my hand!!

Well, I should go and check airfare again - we still don't have tickets!!

Have a great afternoon everyone!:)

Gailyn

Still can't find decent airfare for Nov so to console myself I ordered the new passporters- cruise, WDW and DL. At least I can feel like something was crossed off my vacation list today!

Just finished yard work. It was blazing hot! Too tired to go out, so DH and I made guacamole and are having a drink on the patio with chips and salsa.

The kids are staying over at their cousins so it's a quiet night for us!
