Can anyone give me an idea as to the likelihood of getting in via the stand-by line for Dec. 18? Do I need to book a package that late in season, in order to get seating? There will be 5 of us - 3 little ones.
I'd love to book a package, but our choices are very limited due to food allergies and picky eaters. LOL I hate to spend all that money and still have to eat again later.

If this is real, real important to you, I'd suggest buying a package - check the menus for Biergarten and Garden Grill. Otherwise, I'd say you have a pretty fair chance of getting in using stand-by line on 12/18, but I would get in line as early as possible. The CP package line goes 1st, then whatever seating is left over, standby can fill up (how much of standby gets in will vary show to show). You might have better luck getting in to the 5 pm show - but if not, at least you'd have 2 other shows to shoot for! Also, be careful where you sit. If there are still empty seats near the front - you probably wouldn't want them either! The view is best back aways plus the blare of the horns can be too much is you're right in front of them, especially for little ears.

Good luck whatever you decide. It's a beautiful event.

So, I understand why Le Cellier is so popular, because it's one of my all time favorites, too. But is there a reason why there's only 2 or 3 folks here who have chosen Teppanyaki? Did I make a bad choice here?

We had booked Le Cellier last year and then the in-laws decided to join us. When I called back to change our ressie, the only restaurant that could accomodate a party of 5 was Teppanyaki. I figured it would be good because of the price range but I was really disappointed we would miss Le Cellier. Now, everyone has personal taste and vastly different likes and dislikes...but we all agreed we did not like Teppanyaki at all. Le Cellier beats Teppanyaki in value by far. (you get alot more bang for your buck) I have been to several Japanese steakhouses in Tampa and they are FAR better than Teppanyaki. I posted when we returned about our disappointment and some people agreed, but then again some people disagreed and love that place! You may love it too. Regardless, we had a good time at the event and are not missing it this year...just this time we'll be dining at Le Cellier.

I could not decide which to choose. Coral Reef sounds cool, and we'll be going to Le Cellier during our October trip.

I think most people don't eat at Coral Reef because it's down in Future World. But that's just a guess. We ate there in Feb and it was a neat experience-- how many times do you have a giant sea turtle swim by you during a meal? I will also add that I didn't leave there very full. Fish itself isn't very filling and I didn't think the portions were very big. Maybe I was just really hungry that night.

As for the 5pm show not being moving, I can't answer that. Some have said it's best to see it in the dark because the choir walks in with candles. I can tell you that sunset is around 5:30.

I called at 6:59 on my clock, got right through and a CM answered right away. I was worried that the Christmas week shows would sell out faster so I treated this like I would CRT. (Good practice for that too!) This is part of a Christmas present for my mother in law so I wanted to get everything right. I was hoping for an earlier dinner so we could maybe see the tree lighting, but we will have plenty of time to see the lit tree after dinner and before the CP. I had a great CM and I was off the phone by 7:10.

I'm anxiously awaiting the news of who is replacing Gary Sinise! I hope it's someone good.. I am disappointed at his cancellation since I think he'd be an interesting narrator as he normally has quite dark and creepy acting roles!
