Just a hypothesis......
Do you think Disney is forcing the super-early dining times on the 8:15 CP-goers and the late times on the 5:00 CP-goers because most people eat dinner around 6:30/7ish, hence they're trying to keep their "busy" time as open as possible for non-CP people? In looking through these posts, almost everyone has an ADR before 5 or after 8. If that's their strategy, it sure doesn't seem fair.

I had my choice of 5:15, 5:30 or 5:45 dinner times. I took the 5:15 as we like to eat as close to 5 as possible while on vacation since we tend to eat heavy foods and like time to get it off before bed.

"Mortimer" the CM who booked me told me that the 11/27 show was practically all he had booked today (I didn't call until just a minute ago - maybe 4:55 pm). But looking on this thread, looks like lots of people are going on the 7th. We've been in the World during December several times, but would you believe we've never done the CP? I booked this so that my husband couldn't get out of it this time. I think it will be great!!!

Show: 6:45pm
Dinner: 4:30pm
Where: Biergarten/Germany
Narrator: Rita Mareno
Party of 7

I really wanted to see Jim C. but my mom and nephew will only be with us that first week. Sorry, I don't want to see Phil D. and Dec. 1-3 looked like it might be a busier time. But Rita should be good.

The last time we did CP we ate at LeCellier and it was wonderful. Just couldn't pay that this time though with 5 adults (2 of which are teen/preteen) and two children.

Biergarten is actually one restaurant I haven't been to since I was a teen so I am looking forward to it.

Here is what I got:
Day and date: Friday 25th November
CP show time: 6:45
Narrator: Rita Moreno
Restaurant: LeCellier
ADR time: 4:30
Number of people in party: 3

I think this will suit us fine. I'm just glad this is over with!

Yipee!! I just called...got right on with out holding and talked to the NICEST CM ever! I wanted an early dinner, so we wouldn't have to rush to the CP. And because we are attending the Mousefest Illumination Dessert Party at 8:30pm and I want to have room for some yummy desserts! My CP package:

4:15pm Early dinner at Biergarten for two adults
6:45pm Candlelight Processional
Our CP host is Haley Joel Osment

I am soooo excited! I think that we are all going to have a wonderful holiday at WDW!! We are all so lucky!

Thanks to Ray and advice from others, we have the following:

Date and Day - December 9
Candlelight Processional showtime - 8:15
Name of narrator - Jim C. (made a split second decision on the phone for him instead of Eartha Kitt on Dec 10)
Name of restaurant - Le Cellier
ADR time - 4:40 (I was given choice of anytime between 4 and 5:15)
Number of people in your party - 4
Time Called: 7am, on hold 45 minutes

I haven't seen anyone else mention this, so I'm wondering if I was misinformed. The person who took my reservation told me that there was a $40 cancellation fee, even if 48 hours before. What do you think?

Here is what I got

December 10
5:30 Dinner for 6 at Le Cellier
8:15 show
Eartha Kitt :cat:

I also got put on hold right at 7:00 and was on hold for about 35 minutes.

deb :wizard:

Called mid-morning, got right through. CP at 5:00 and dinner at Coral Reef at 6:30 which is what I wanted. Family of 4 on 12/28/05.

Day and Date: Tuesday, December 27
Candlelight Processional Showtime: 6:45
Narrator: ???TBD???
Restaurant: Le Cellier
ADR: 8:30 p.m.
Number in Party: 5

I started calling at 6:57, got through on the third call with no hold time. The only available dinner time after the show for a party of 5 at Le Cellier was 8:30 p.m. Seems kind of weird that the times were so limited that early in the day.

I am excited about going, but bummed about not knowing who the narrator will be.

CM told me that you get a FULL refund if you cancel 48 hours or more in advance (but I'm not planning on doing that, LOL).

Yes, I made double sure of this, as I'm currently holding 2 reservations (for the benefit of others in my party!).

Narrator: Jim Caviezel (split second decision between this & Eartha Kitt)
Party Size: 1

Started calling at 6:55am, got through at 7am, was on hold for about 10 minutes. Got the day, performance & dinner time I wanted with no problems. Was a little nervous as the CM seemed a little new at this, but had no troubles at all, even with this being a solo booking. 15 minutes later, I had gotten everything I wanted. This is the night I arrive and thought it would be a great way to kick off my vacation. I wanted dinner afterwards so that I could relax, enjoy a nice dinner, then sit back and watch Illuminations. She even put in a request for a patio table. I'd like to see Eartha Kitt (my nephews loved her in the Emperor's New Groove) as well, so I may call up tomorrow and book another package for that one. :goodvibes

ADR- Japan - 5pm (may get earlier to see Tree Lighting)

Called at 10:30 - no problem

Date and Day: Monday, 12/26
Candlelight Processional showtime: 6:45
Name of narrator: I'm so bummed it's not Gary Sinise!
Name of restaurant: Teppanyaki
ADR time: 4:30 p.m. (my choice)
Number of people in your party. 5

Woke up a little late, lost my paperwork, so didn't dial until 7:01 this morning. Put on hold for like, forever. Poor DS needed a ride to band camp, so I had to hang up around 7:45. :sad1:

Rushed home, dialed again around 8:15, strangely enough, I got CRO this time (although I had hit redial), and he transferred me directly to a dining CM! No waiting! How cool is that? :cool1:

Anyway, I tried for Marrakesh at first, but the times they gave me were only after the 6:45 show, and I wanted to eat before, in order to keep my evening free to try for that ever-elusive Illuminations cruise. So I asked if there were early times for Teppanyaki, and voila! we're all set.

So, I understand why Le Cellier is so popular, because it's one of my all time favorites, too. But is there a reason why there's only 2 or 3 folks here who have chosen Teppanyaki? Did I make a bad choice here?

Can anyone give me an idea as to the likelihood of getting in via the stand-by line for Dec. 18? Do I need to book a package that late in season, in order to get seating? There will be 5 of us - 3 little ones.
I'd love to book a package, but our choices are very limited due to food allergies and picky eaters. LOL I hate to spend all that money and still have to eat again later. ;)

TIA for any advice!

Date and Day: Thursday, Dec 22
Candlelight Processional showtime: 8:15
Name of narrator: I'm so bummed it's not Gary Sinise!
Name of restaurant: La Cellier
ADR time: 4:10 p.m. (not my choice, but only one for a party of 8)
Number of people in your party. 8

Had lots of problems this morning. Have 8 in my party and wanted to split on 2 credit cards. First CM told me it couldn't be done and if I did split, we were not guaranteed of being together. Called back at about 11:30 EST and got right through to a CM. She was very nice and I explained what had happened. She got a manager to walk her through it and did split it on 2 cc's and we have a table of 8. I really wanted to eat a little later, but this way we can have an early dinner and then see the tree lighting ceremony and then make the late show and watch illuminations all in one night.

Can't wait until they announce who will be replacing Gary Sinise.

25 and holding. Don't drink a lot of coffee before you call

Okay, I have to tell you. I was on hold for 55 minutes. Finally set the phone down for 2 minutes. Of course when I came back I had been disconnected. Had to go out, so I couldn't call back until 9:30 EST. Got through quickly at last. We're going to the 8:15 show on 12/22. The CM said the only available seating for Biergarten was 5:30! Nothing earlier. Nothing later. I couldn't believe it! I asked if there were different options at other restaurants. The CM said Le Cellier was the one most people were booking and it only had an opening left at 4 p.m. That'll work! :Pinkbounc
