OK. Now I gotta TNP ...

What would you do if you caught your 6 year old child in a bald-faced lie? (Can you tell we've been dealing with lying in our house? :sad2: )

Well my five tells tales, usually about seeing deer or moose. But if I ask if it was really there he will tell me. So then I explain that it's one thing to tell a story and another to say something happened that didn't. So it hasn't warranted a time out yet.

TNP.......Did you drink any milk today?

i had chocolate milk today with a mint chocolate chip cookie, so bomb!

Labor Day: Float the river, or Daytime Bar Crawl???:wizard:

I'm such a chicken! Scary movies seriously freak me out, and just reading about the Knott's Berry Farm thing on MiceChat today (someone posted a link in the Halloween thread over here) gave me the willies :scared1: The Knotts' thing sounds very similar to the thing they do at Great America near where I live (Cedar Fair operates it now I think? it's been through several owners. It's kind of like 6 Flags). Give me DLR Halloween any day of the week, that's more my speed popcorn::

So yeah - long winded answer - but my Halloween decor is all fun stuff. As creepy as it gets is these semi-dia-de-los-muertos style bride & groom dolls that I hang up in the front yard.

Oh! I have more to add! My neighbor (who is going through a divorce :sad1: ) is clearing out his house. He knows I am a Disney FREAK, so he asked me if I wanted some disney-halloween decorations. "Sure" I said ... and he brings over the cutest little ceramic mickey halloween pumpkin (use a tea light) and a jack skellington doll! For free! :woohoo: I was so happy

I understand. I go with a mixture with my decorations, I worry about the little ones and I don't want to scare them because Halloween is about them.

I explained to my kids that lying was like stealing, and then I explained about how bad it was. Most of all I stressed. Sorry I didn't help much.

No, I am a bad girl, no milk for me.

I would love to find a shady outdoor bar like the Uva Bar, and sit and sit ice cold beer and read a good book. But, because that isn't going to happen I will just opt for a shady spot and the good book.

Ever been to the parks on a busy holiday weekend?

The lie was this: DD6 was in DD15's bedroom by herself. She comes out, and some time later I suddenly notice red nail polish drips on her arm, some on her toes, some on her fingers. She denied using the nail polish. #1, no nail polish use allowed especially by yourself and #2 lying is wrong. She got TV taken away, which is a big deal since it was a non-school night. I know this is typical behavior, but still so frustrating as a parent. :(

I've been to DLR on NYE :) It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It was crowded but fun. The dance parties were all over and we totally could park hop between DL and DCA. DCA had a champagne flight over at the winery :cloud9: The only bummer was that my middle daughter got sick shortly around midnight so we didn't stay for very long.

TNP: Do you get a flu shot?

We do Halloween all out....we have a lot of scary decorations but we try to make it fun for kids too, we always have good candy to hand out too but we don't get a lot kids because our street is so small.
Tdash, DD14 has the Cheshire Cat costume too she is so cute in it!!! She also has a witch costume and DD10 has a Strawberry Shortcake and a Ladybug, my sis worked at the Halloween store briefly so she got them some super cute outfits. :) :) I have no idea what DBF and I will do, if we even do anything this year, we are likely to skip it since we aren't planning on parties or anything.

today we aren't doing much, just stuff around the house, tomorrow we are going to a friends for a BBQ and Monday we are going to the beach. That's why I asked about surfing, DBF wants to try it so we think we will go to Santa Cruz on Monday after we go to Monterery in the morning.

Wish my plans could be the same as yours Sara. :)

TNP-what's your favorite kind of BBQ?

At 6 years old they lie sometimes because they are afraid of getting in trouble. At their age they are just thinking of the moment you know? And I am sure she was embarrassed. Do you ever paint her nails? That may be what she is interested in. My girls did at that age because other little girls had their nails painted so I used translucent polish. Yes, I have an asthmatic daughter and an older parent.

Lazy weekend reading. I wish I was joining you at Disneyland and DCA.

Favorite spice or seasoning?

TNP-what's your favorite kind of BBQ?

I love a bbq rub. I rub ribs and then cook them on a low heat for like three hours. The meat falls off of the bones.

Yeah, yeah rub it in! ;) Nothing big at all. DH is working all weekend. BUT - I have 'big' news ... my girlfriend got tickets to the Big Brother taping, so we are doing a 1 day girls trip to LA on Tuesday  I'm so excited. Almost as good as DLR ;)

Tdash, DD14 has the Cheshire Cat costume too she is so cute in it!!!
Ha! That's funny :) It was super cheap, being past Halloween, and it looked so cute. It's been in storage in the garage loft since then, & I haven't brought it down to see how/if I can make it work :)

Favorite spice or seasoning?

Yes, that was definitely it. This does come after an incident last weekend, where she went into DH's wallet and took a dollar out of it, then lied about where it came from. So we've been dealing with the stealing, lying, all that fun stuff. Sigh.

Spice or seasoning - this is kind of embarrassing, but that Lawry's Seasoned Salt? I love that stuff. I think it tastes so good. :rolleyes1

TNP: Do you own a pair of Crocs?
I totally do. They are these bright orange slide-style ones, not like the "traditional" crocs or whatever ... they are my favorite shoe to wear to the neighborhood pool.

It never ceases to amaze me how much my children stress me out. I wish you luck with this.

I have Crocs. They are ballet slipper style and they make great shower shoes because of traction.

Is there someplace you want to visit in the USA that you never have? And will you ever visit do you think?

How could figuring a question up be so hard? See I did it just like that.
Ha! DH is on day 3 of 24 hour shifts ... brain definitely goes fuzzy on hour 60-something ;) He's back tomorrow

DD6 just helped me out. She wants to know ...

TNP ... what's your favorite smiley?

Popeye's or Kentucky Fried?

Popeye's or Kentucky Fried?

Evertime I eat KFC I'm not as happy about it as I though I would be. But I haven't been to Popeyes in 20 maybe 25 years. So at the least it would be an adventure.

TNP....... What is the last time your watched the sun set?

Honestly I think Popeye's is better.

I actually had the pleasure of seeing it last night.

Have you read the Twilight series? (No, I have not, and will not.)

(No, I have not, and will not.) ITA.

TNP.......Do you eat breakfast on any days of the week?

I eat breakfast most mornings. I sit at the computer waiting for my kids to get ready for school and eat breakfast.

Favorite breakfast food?
