I vote for a Washington/BC res discount. :rotfl2:

I have a question about booking now. If I book Alaska on 9/28 when the booking opens, could I cancel and re-book it and get the OBC and re-booking discount when I'm on the Magic in November (assuming it would be cheaper with the discount in November)?

You are having the same thoughts as me...we sail on 10/10 so that is what I am thinking about doing. I wonder when the prices are going to come out? And I wonder what the deposit required is going to be?!?

So it looks like they have 2011 sail dates for everything but the 3/4/5 day cruises. Looks like holiday cruises in 2011 (11 day southern over Christmas and a 10 day eastern over New Years). And Alaska is running Tuesday to Tuesday!

I doubt you will see any resident rates, there were none for Europe. They only do them for Floridians to entice them to book last minute where space is available, and somehow I don't see this being a big issue this time around...

The rates may not be quite as scarey as I thought they were going to be!

The first-ever Disney cruise to Alaska will depart on May 3 with the last cruise of the season scheduled for Aug. 30. Rates for the seven-night Alaskan itinerary start at $939 per person for a standard inside stateroom, based on double occupancy.

To prepare for the Alaska sailings, a brand-new venue called Outlook Cafe will be added to the Disney Wonder during dry dock in October. Located high atop deck 10, the 2,500-square-foot Outlook Cafe is a stylish retreat for guests to relax and enjoy a beverage or cocktail as they peer out through floor-to-ceiling, curved glass windows at breathtaking vistas. The design of Outlook Cafe is sophisticated with contemporary Art Deco inspiration. An elegant spiral staircase connects Outlook Cafe with the existing Cove Cafe one deck below. The 65-seat lounge has a granite-topped cocktail bar with comfortable seating throughout the space, all providing picture-perfect views of the surrounding landscapes.

Anyone else disappointed in the "big" announcement?

I was hoping for some more options for affordable cruises for me and the family. I doubt we could ever afford the Alaska cruise (that's at $1000 per person plus trip over for their cheapest).

I was hoping for some more family options.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad so many can do this without blinking, but we just can't.

So I guess that the Dream will be doing the 3/4 cruises out of PC?

Someone mentioned the possibility of seeing glaciers calve in Tracy Arm Fjord- I don't think the ship can get close enough there that you can see much.

Really? I'm still getting that Page Not Found 404 Error. How exactly did you access it?

just kept trying the different ones and finally the Van to LA repo took, then I tried the others and they worked as well.

Hmm, but no retractable roof over the pool? Bummer. I guess I'll have to spend more time in the Spa. :rotfl:

Are the prices listed for the Wonder PC Reo cruise?? That's the one i am really interested in going on!

We sailed Tracy Arm in June. We got pretty close to Sawyer Glacier and saw lots of ice chunks in the water, but no calving. I think you need to take an excursion out of Juneau to get close enough to see calving. Here are a few pictures of Tracy Arm.

I'm a professor and would normally never miss a class week to go on a cruise, but if the L.A. to Vancouver repo-cruise is stopping in San Francisco and Victoria, I may have to make an exception. We have great friends in L.A., have always loved SF and want DS to see it (we went there on both our honeymoon and "baby-moon" before he was born), and would love to see Victoria and Vancouver.

Gonna have to call my boss . . . :rotfl:

We'll be on the Wonder 24th-27th cruise--any chance we'll be able to book, I wonder?

My wife got all excited when I told her the news and started talking about possibly combining the Alaska cruise with the Vancouver to LA cruise. I thgouth they would be back to back, but the last Alaka cruise is Aug 30 and the Vancouver to LA cruise is Sep 20. Does anyone know what the Wonder will be doing in between? Dry dock maybe?

WOw 939.00 starting rate - I was suspecting 1299.00!!
I might be enticed to book one.... lol

I was able to get the info on the Van to LA repo n 2011

Trust me. DCL is not going to shut down the island for construction. The main parts of the beach will be open. I imagine that the new play structures will be put together and then transported to the island. The Cabanas are going up where the Teen beach is now and is far away from the main family beach.

I guess my concern is that January is such an iffy time anyway, that it would be easy for DCL to just say "Windy, can't dock, sorry." And it would buy them a whole day for construction purposes. I know it is dishonest and would make Walt roll in his grave and is against everything DCL stands for. But, sometimes, if you are up against it, desperate measures, ya know?

We were there a few weeks ago, and the construction has commenced but it did not affect our enjoyment of the island. I don't think there are any plans to shut down CC during construction. :confused3

I know that people are saying that construction efforts are during off days, and minimal. But, again, we are sailing in January. We are going to be a lot closer to their "due date." If, God forbid, something should happen, and they fall behind, and have to pick up slack, it MAY mean 24/7 construction, even with guests there.

I hate to be picky little broad, but we have been saving up a long time for this trip of a lifetime, and even if there is only ONE crane out there, it will still bother me. If there is a half-built cabana at Serenity Bay, it will bother me. Posters on these boards have painted this picture of perfection for CC, and I don't want anything less.

I can get on the Mexican cruises but there are no prices...anyone have prices yet???????

Oh for the love of pete, they're KILLING ME! :rotfl:

It was so easy -- "honey, what do you want to do for our 10th anniversary?" "Why let's book on the Dream!"

But now there's Alaska.

AND now they're finally going to have a Europe repositioning cruise that we could go on since it's mid May.

GAAAAAAAAH!! I think my brain is melting.

Sooo, does anyone recall what the early booking prices have been for the repositioning cruise to Europe? The yahoo article only mentioned Med prices, and I know the repositioning tends to be cheaper?
