ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

Just an FYI - for those going to the world the first weekend in May be aware that there is a huge All Star Cheerleading event - The Summit happening at ESPN. The vacation packages are set to be at the All Star Sports for the athletes. So imagine 475 teams and families of cheerleaders. Not all will stay at AS Sports - I chose to stay at CBR with my cheerleader. Just thought people might like to know since the event is only in its second year.

There has been a save the date released for media to preview the Mine Ride on April 30th. So hopefully this mean it'll be open by May!!

GET EXCITED!!! :banana::banana::banana:

Heads up!! I just logged on to the dining site and there are a bunch of BOG reservation times loaded for the week of may 4-11!! We had to cancel ours because a family member was changing dates and we got it back !! woo hoo!!:banana:

I'm trying to decide weather to book BOG for dinner or do BOG for lunch. We did BOG for dinner only last year.

:cool1:

I haven't done much planning since I got our dining reservations finalized and switched our trip from April to May. Stuff has been crazy around here lately too with the snow and ice.

I don't have a ticker because this trip is a surprise for my children. But I went to my favorite "days between dates" site and saw yesterday we had 100 days before our trip.

So today I will happily post my double digit celebration.

Think I'll celebrate by doing a little shopping. I haven't really done any for this trip. But I have dd's BBB dress and the crinolin in my watch list on eBay. And I did communicate with a couple of etsy sellers to make sure they'd be available to fill orders this month.

Also probably be putting in some requests on the DISign forum since our dining is finalized. The children like getting the cute invites.

Happy planning to all

We'll be at Shades of Green May 5-15!! This is our first time at SOG, we are usually RVing at the Fort. We'll be celebrating our Anniversary even though hubs isn't going to be with us, Mothers Day and this being the last girls trip for my girls and I before our new addition comes in September. This will be our last trip for at least 2 years due to how crazy things will be when hubs comes home from this deployment. Can't wait!!

Super excited!! Our flights are booked, deposit paid and tickets bought!! ( because we are military and got the discount, Disney can't include tickets in our package so we buy them separately). We'll be at AOA from May 24-June 1st :-) the kids have no idea, we won't tell them till we get to the airport. Hehehe

How did I not know that Doc and Sofia are at H&V breakfast and lunch?! I am so excited! I had booked lunch there hoping they would be added but was doubtful - at least DS would get to see Jake. I was gearing up for waiting in line to meet Sofia and now we don't have to! DD will LOVE this!

Fun! We aren't telling our kids either. I can't decide when to tell them. We are driving 12 hours to Jacksonville to stay one night with friends and then going to WDW the next day for our trip. Do we tell them at home right before we get in the car for our long drive or wait until we are in Jacksonville? Our kids are 4 and 5.

With kids that young I say wait until you arrive in Jacksonville. Then you're only a few hours -- and one sleep -- away from Disney.

Otherwise it's 12 hours of "Are we there yet?!" PLUS one sleep AND several hours of driving from Jacksonville the next day.

If your friends can help keep it quiet I would wait until you get in the car on the second day. I'd even consider telling them you are going to find something fun to do and then when they see the Disney Welcome Sign, say something like "Oh look its Disney World! Do you guys think we should stop or keep going?"

This is our 2nd time to WDW...last time was in 2010 and I just couldn't keep it a surprise. I plan to keep the yellow tags for Disney's Magical Express in my purse till we get to the airport, and as we're getting our luggage out of the car, hand them to them to put on their suitcases, and see what their reaction is :rotfl2: If they don't quite catch on, then I'm going to ask them how they'd like to ride Expedition Everest tomorrow. I'm as giddy to surprise them as I am to go!

Please have someone film them as they get the tags! The look will be priceless as it sinks in!

Ours is a surprise trip too. I've surprised them twice for Disney. First time in 2010 my son was only 10 months old so it was for my daughter. I told her the day before. 2nd surprise was last summer. I told them 3 days before so we could finish packing together and so dd could wrap her head around us driving instead of flying. It was the first time ds understood the surprise so that was fun.

In 2012 I had dd in on the planning from the beginning and last year she told me she prefers being surprised. Said the 9 month wait was torture. :rotfl:

I like doing it because it does get rid of the "how many more days" thing.

I haven't decided when I'm going to reveal this trip. I liked doing the 3 days before last time so dd could have some input on what was packed for her and we could do our last minute shopping together. I always enjoy us going and picking up last minute odd and ends together. It adds to the excitement wherever we are going.

Dd's graduating from Elementary school on May 21st. The last day of school is the 22nd. We fly out on the 25th. I'm thinking of breaking the news on the last day of school. Not sure how. It's at the point where my 2 almost expect to do Disney after school is out, but just don't know when.

I'm thinking of telling them we are going to start our countdown and give them a note that has everything but the number of days left until the trip. Then a separate envelope with that number in it. I'm thinking they'll be pretty shocked when they open it and see there's just 2 days.

I'm sure ready for a vacation.

Hello everyone! :yay:
So after swearing we weren't going to do a spring trip this year, we randomly booked a trip for May last night! :rotfl2: We just can't stay away. I'm so excited though! We'll be staying at the Pop May 4-11. So excited! :bitelip:

Hi everyone! International traveller adding herself to the list!

We're from the Netherlands and will be making a 3 wk trip around Atlanta, Great Smoky Mountains, Charleston, Savannah, St. Augustine and finishing with a week in Orlando.
We will be in Orlando from may 6-13 and are staying in Windsor Hills.

This will be our fourth trip to WDW, we were there before in 2007, 2008 (honeymoon) and 2012 (with our 1,5 year old daughter, she will be 3,5 now).

Can't wait!
