ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

We are doing a surprise trip too for our kiddos! They are 4,6,7,9. We went last spring and we did the countdown and planning. The kids had so much fun and we did not plan on going again so soon but decided in January to do a surprise trip in May. They talk all the time about how they miss disney. They will be so surprised. I can't wait to see there face! Also we will be there on my DD birthday. We plan to tell them right before we get in the van to go.

I'm loving all these surprise trips!!! Our last trip we surprised our girls (5 and 23 months then) the night before we left with the most awesome scavenger hunt ever! During a slow night at work I came up with all my own clues and it was perfect! We had so much fun! My oldest DD loved it too!

They know about this trip because our in laws will be going with us and I knew with planning it with them that it would be so hard to keep the secret without spilling the beans! But my oldest DD has already said, "Next time we go to Disney I want it to be a surprise again... but I want you to do a scavenger hunt!" Ha ha! Then you'll know silly girl! I'm already thinking for next time though. My in laws want to go next year and take my nephew (who will be 4), so I'm thinking we can tell them that we're just going to the airport to take grandma and grandpa, then surprise them by us going to! Who knows... thank goodness I have over a year to plan! :)

I hope everyone who is planning a surprise, will be recording the moment when unveil the truth. Kids reactions are priceless. I'll add the newcomers to the May log later today.

There has been a save the date released for media to preview the Mine Ride on April 30th. So hopefully this mean it'll be open by May!!

GET EXCITED!!! :banana::banana::banana:

AWESOME!!!:cool1::thumbsup2pixiedust::goodvibes

We usually stay at the Fort and Trails End is one of our favorites! Similar food as Hoop de Do

We added Hoop De Do, to our trip. We are going to eat their for my birthday. It will be a first for us. We have moved so many of ADRs around after we came back from WDW last month. FP+ really had us rethink/replan our May trip.

It seems like FP+ is tripping a lot of plans up. I've just decided to go with the flow. I'm not sure if I'll even be able to make ours before we get there, I have APs but we are staying at Shades of Green. Who knows how thats going to work out. If we make a FP+ or get side tracked and miss one it is what is. Luckily my kids are still too small to ride the big stuff and me being 20 weeks pregnant is going to limit us further. I'm just happy to be there!

So I decided to play around on MDE and see if I could get a FP+, I did for the 21st of Feb so I'm guessing it'll work for May. I also noticed MDE changed from the other day, format is different. It has a count down for me even though I'm at SOG, I'm guessing they are basing my arrival off my ADRs since the number is off for the actual arrival when I don't have an ADR.:confused3

I noticed about 5 days ago, maybe a week, that the MDE app got an update. I really like the new layout, that I can easily see all my reservations on the main page. I had a lot of problems trying to use the MDE app for changing FP+ selections the day of during my September trip, so I'm hoping that the update wasn't all cosmetic.

It's still too early to get FP+ selections for May, you have to wait 60 days prior to your check in date. Ex: I check in 5/11, my FP+ choices open up on 3/12.

Please add us to the list!!! Staying at All Star Sports May 10th-May 16th :)

Nice! Added! :good vibes

We'll be at Shades of Green May 5-15!! This is our first time at SOG, we are usually RVing at the Fort. We'll be celebrating our Anniversary even though hubs isn't going to be with us, Mothers Day and this being the last girls trip for my girls and I before our new addition comes in September. This will be our last trip for at least 2 years due to how crazy things will be when hubs comes home from this deployment. Can't wait!!

Yay our first Shades of Green May guest!!! added! :thumbsup2

We are staying at Comfort Inn Maingate

Awesome! I don't have the dates for the log. Regardless I still added you.

Hello everyone! :yay:
So after swearing we weren't going to do a spring trip this year, we randomly booked a trip for May last night! :rotfl2: We just can't stay away. I'm so excited though! We'll be staying at the Pop May 4-11. So excited! :bitelip:

Hehe. I know your feeling! Glad the trip is in May!! :woohoo:

Hi everyone! International traveller adding herself to the list!

We're from the Netherlands and will be making a 3 wk trip around Atlanta, Great Smoky Mountains, Charleston, Savannah, St. Augustine and finishing with a week in Orlando.
We will be in Orlando from may 6-13 and are staying in Windsor Hills.

This will be our fourth trip to WDW, we were there before in 2007, 2008 (honeymoon) and 2012 (with our 1,5 year old daughter, she will be 3,5 now).

Can't wait!

This sounds like an awesome trip!! Perfect way to end it at WDW!!! :yay:

If I have missed anyone please let me know. I get lost with all the posts sometimes!! I mean we're 3 months away from our trips!!!! :scared1:
Wife has already started packing aside disney stuff. :roll eyes:

Haha I've picked up a few shirts for my youngest from frozen at target, plus a few Minnie things from target one spot. I'm so excited!!

This will be our family's first time to do Disney World the right way....on site with dining plan, etc. We haven't been since 2003, and with our oldest son leaving for college in the fall, we felt this would be our last big family vacation.

Resort: Pop
Dining choices so far...
Sunday Dinner: Cinderella's Royal Table
Monday Dinner: Chefs de France
Tuesday Dinner: Yak & Yeti
Wednesday Dinner: Ohana
Thursday Dinner: Sci-Fi

Thinking about doing BOG for Friday, but we are not sure what park we want to revisit yet.

sooooooo excited!

I agree the new layout is spiffy:cool2:
But I'm not checking in to a disney resort, so it seems like for AP's its just 60 days from the date......I'm totally guessing on this but will play with it later to see.

From what I understand...

FP+ is available 60 days out if you're staying on site at least one night.

All those staying off site will have to line up for fast passes at the park kiosk at rope drop each day they are at Disney (and those are first come, first served). You will not be able to apply for them in advance if you're not on site.

They are also capped at 3 per day. Period. Meaning you can't park hop and pick up 3 more at another park.

Also the rides are sorted by Tier (1,2,3) and you can only get one per tier. So you can't get one for Soarin and Toy Story Mania for instance. At least not on the same day.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong guys ...

You are correct, I think.......
Its so confusing! They are just now trying to sort out the AP FP+ issues. I suspect they may not have as many renew if they don't allow for APs to access advance FP+ without staying on resort property.

Also the military salute tickets are also supposed to be given the same benefits as someone using regular tickets and those kinks are still being worked out as well.

We tested in October & December, things were fine but we weren't in full resort mode either. From some of the things I've seen posted over this past holiday weekend the FP+ lines were not much shorter than the stand-by. Seems like there may be more to adjust and its going to have to happen fast with all the negativity surrounding everyones experiences. Here's hoping May will bring some FP+ peace for us!

You can also only use the FP+ at one park/day. So if you want to use your FP+ option at DHS for example, you can't use one or two selections there, then jump over to a different park and use your remaining FP+. In September, I had the most luck using FP+ like this: go to one park for morning EMH/RD, do all the rides I wanted with minimal wait (or as minimal as you can hope for, depending on the dates of your trip), then use my FP+ In the evening at the park I hopped to.

If you  at her, you have to  at me too! I have started setting our stuff aside, and buying things specifically for our trip! :) :lmao:

Me too. I've started to keep a box I can just go to when it is time to pack. Dd and I decided that after our 2012 trip because we decided then we really liked summer vacations. While my husband was alive we only traveled at other times. So we started a Disney/summer box. That way we'd know what we had and if something could just be purchased once and didn't have to be replaced each summer, we'd know where it was.

It's got dd's Disney themed pettiskirts, our lanyards, 2 misting fans, 2 fans on lanyards, my son's stroller fan, dd's and my park bags, glow sticks, several hats for each person, sun glasses, sunscreen (if it isn't expired) and travel sized toiletries.

This weekend I celebrated double digits by requesting the children's personalized dining invitations and ordering a Minnie Mouse skirt outfit I've had on my ebay watch list for about 3 months.

I don't pack until closer to the trip, but I'm looking forward to making my packing list this week.

Just a side note, but I'm a widow too

I can be rolled at too! :) I've had a box going since October. While it was slow going at first, it's really starting to fill up now!

I've been slyly asking my kids where their Disney shirts are from DL so I can see if they need new ones lol.
