ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

My wonderful husband and myself are bringing our boys (8 and will turn 4 while @disney) to Disney for the first time in May 2014. We will be staying at AoA in a Cars suite from May 22-30. We hope to keep this trip a secret as long as we can!

Hi all! We are planning May 5-9 at Contemporary. This will be our second trip. Out of curiosity, do y'all think May 5-9 will be less crowded than if we were to go April 28-May 2??

Hello! Just reserved a bunk bed room at Wilderness Lodge for 5/3-5/10. It will be our first family vacation to Disney with kiddos, DD 7 and DS 4. We will be telling them on Christmas as one of their gifts. I am so excited I could burst! Cannot wait!

Yay! Me too! I was up at 3am *yawn* :). Congrats on getting BOG!

I got Maya Grill for arrival night on the 6th, Liberty Tree lunch and Crystal Palace dinner (which is a place holder for the elusive BOG dinner) for the 7th, Teppan Edo for dinner on the 8th, AK day will be lots of food: Boma, Yak and Yeti and then Sanaa on the 9th, for our pool day on the 10th Ohana breakfast and T-Rex dinner, Mama Melrose F! Dinner on Mother's Day, and lastly 1900 Park Fare breakfast and Kona dinner on the 12th! Yay!

Any thoughts or suggestions for my ADR's. This is what I have right now (though I've changed it 4 times lol)

Joining! May 23-June 1 at the Beach Club. Can't wait!!! Wish I could get my magic bands now...

In lieu of our annual April visit to the World, we'll be going May 5th - 14th instead so that I can celebrate my 30th birthday (May 9th) in my favorite place! I'm always excited about our Disney trips but even more so for this one as I haven't celebrated a birthday in Disney since I was 10 AND my Gammy, Auntie, Mom and Best Friend will be joining my daughter and I in the celebration. :upsidedow

We returned home from our October trip last week and while we were still there I booked our May trip. :rotfl: As of the moment we have a grand villa at AKL booked but that may change to VGF if I'm able to get my hands on a unit there.

30th BDAY!!!! WOOO!! That will a birthday to remember! pixiedust: Added.

Joining in, we'll be there from May 10th to the 16th at the VGF and then at AKV from the 16th to the 19th.

Just got back last week from our daughters first trip and can't wait to go back.

The DW and I are jealous of your stay. hehe Added. ;)

Just booked today for 5/12 - 5/18!!! Praying for ANY kind of discount between now and then Disney Gods!!!

YAY.. I didn't catch what resort your staying at. Let me know when you get a chance. Please. :confused3

I haven't booked yet (hopefully there will be a BB when I am there next week), but I already booked an ADR for a Sci-Fi lunch because I couldn't get one for this trip.

Next week!!! AHHH so jealous!! Have fun and let me know when you book for May.

I added you to May 5-9 and yes I think so. Getting a little further away from easter break crowds is a good thing. :upsidedow

We are will be at ASMu. EXCITED!!!

Thank you sooo much.:thumbsup2 Ok, here is the tentative plans, put in place taking crowd calendars. We are morning people, but my daughter does get fussy/cranky when tired, so try to figuring in breaks, and definitely renting a stroller!

1. Sat 5/10- Arriving at 10 AM. Figure getting groceries, checking in early? if possible. Then heading straight to MK. ?6 PM dinner at BOG.

Sounds good, the train always helped us to get our DD and DS to take a nap. Then we would just keep riding it while they slept. :thumbsup2
2. 5/11-AK- for the day. Thinking of taking a later aft break at hotel and going to MK for ?6:30 dinner at Crystal Palace and then enjoying park till MSEP and Fireworks.

:thumbsup2

3. 5/12 Epcot- scheduling a little bit later bfkst at Askershus, as we will have been out early the night before. Maybe a 9:15 or 9:30 to allow for us to get some FP first thing. Spend day there and lunch/dinner wherever. Maybe dinner at Coral Reef- do you think I need a res for that ahead of time?

If you can hold her off for breakfast a little later to 10ish, I would recommend that then you can get some rides done in Future World before you head to World Showcase for Breakfast. Then by the time you are done at breakfast, World Showcase opens at 11am. Napping the stroller around world showcase is easy for our kids we usually never leave Epcot for breaks. I would recommend still making a reservation at the Coral Reef.
4. 5/13- Scheduling BBB apt for DD at 8 AM. Heard that we can go in early to park and maybe even open BBB- someone mentioned that. what time would we need to leave AOA to get there for 8? Followed by BFKST at CRT at 9:30- we like the options for this meal best and want the experience. Rest of the day would be at MK.

We have never stayed at AOA so I really don't know. I would recommend leaving any resort that uses a bus by 7:15am. You will still be able to get some rides done in Fantasyland before your 9:30 CRT reservation.
5. 5/14- MK all day. Break in aft and then return to Epcot for dinner and Illuminations.

Try your hardest to do opening ceremony at MK. I still cry when we are there and get to experience it.
6. 5/15-HS- May arrive a little later in AM, if went to Illuminations. would like to eat snack at Sci-Fi. We are planning on going to Fantasmic at night- 9pm and was thinking of doing dinner at Mama Melrose-or do you think lunch would be better? we prob will try to take aft break for DD, so she can make it through Fantasmic. Not sure if it would be worth it to go to hotel for little while and return for 6:30 dinner or as I said do lunch.

HS is another park we never take a break from. I would recommend doing Mama Melrose for lunch/Fantasmic Package. Then after lunch take a break and head in HS after dinner at your resort of snack at Sci Fi so you can make Fantasmic with reserved seating.
7. 5/16-Considering Chef Mickey BFKST for say 9 AM? then can spend time at MK and another park if we want to go back to one.

Any thoughts on CM for dinner that way you can get in MK and enjoy the park without crowds? Or even schedule CM for late breakfast? You will be surprised how much you can get done at MK during those first two hours.
8. 5/17-Don't depart till7 pm. wanted to enjoy more time at MK.

We did sign up for DDP- 1 snack, qs, and sit down. Felt that it would be good to have money already pd and allocated for food and pay for any extras and have snacks to bring and food for bfksts.
I am open to thoughts and recommendations.
TIA :flower3:

We try to always end our trip at MK too. We are actually considering adding two days to our trip, so you may be there May 16-25 if all goes well.

Sounds like a great line up. The only one that seems off is Ohana for lunch...Kona Café would be your only option for lunch. How did it go today?

We are staying off site 5/17 - 5/23. I haven't been to Disney since I was a kid and I am soooooooooo excited to bring my prince and princess there!!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::yay::yay::yay:

You might want to change this to later in the morning if you kids want to do Jedi Training or get an extra ride on TSM. With HS opening at the gates at 8:30ish now it defeats the early breakfast. We have now moved our H&V reservations back to 10:30ish for those reasons

Never used that company before

My children are 14 (girl) 6 and 2 (boys). I would probably need breaks with the 2 and 6 year old and figured the meals would help with that. I haven't looked into the Jedi training because my kids a rent Star Wars fans but maybe we can get them excited about it before the trip and they may want to try it. Do you always plan your own trips or do you use an agent? Or are you and agent because you have really knowledgable advice :)

Hi everyone!

I'm new here, well, been lurking for a couple months taking it all in, as I recovered from a pretty major health crisis (septicaemia). So thankful for the info on this board, invaluable in helping me process all there is to know to plan an amazing Disney adventure! Thought I should introduce myself :) My name is Kate and I'm very taking my kids (2 and 6) on their first Disney vacation next May. It will actually be my DH's first time too, and I'm almost as excited for him :) My parents will be coming along as well. We will be staying at BLT, in a 2 bdr LV from May 6-12. I haven't been to Disney in 15 years, not since my 18th birthday (stayed at BC then, loved it), I am so excited to return!

I made my ADR's the other day...a little overwhelmed, but made me even more excited! How'd I do?

May 6- arrival- MK
May 7- 8:40 BBB for DD (earliest I could get, she said show up early to see if we can get in earlier...should I call to if there are cancellations? If so, when?) the 10:20 at CRT.
May 8- Epcot- 8:00 Cape May.
May 9- nada, we'll probably do MK again...anything I should add in here? I was considering Crystal Palace.
May 10- AK- Tuskerhouse 8:30
May 11: HS- Hollywood & Vine 12:10
May 12: Last Day :( - MK. Chef Mickey's 8:30 BOG 4:20

Then we'll go to Clearwater for a few days at the beach.

Any glaring errors or omissions?

Also, regarding my BLT reservation (booked through David's)... the only request I made was that it be a dedicated 2 bdr, rather than a lockoff. I would like to request the high floor, even #, north wing, but not sure if is too late, does that have to be done at booking or can I add a request at any time? And if I can still put in the request, who do I contact?

Thanks so much for any input. Looking forward to chatting with you all :wave2:
