ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

FYI: I dug out our chilly pads yesterday (they had been stored in ziplocs) and hand washed them in the sink. I bought them in 2010 and they are still going strong! So if anyone was wondering how they hold up before committing to buying, I can say stored properly you will get a lot of use from them.

I think I've seen kids in the pool with swimmies, and I know there are pool items for sale at the pools we've used, but I've never stayed at Pop, so I'm not sure about those. Maybe you can ask on the Pop board if you can't find them locally. Or order from Amazon lol.

I do not envy you trying to pack with the house on the market! Are you getting a lot of traffic?

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Ugh. Some traffic but we are in a blah position bc we bought during the high times and still owe a lot only now it's worth about what we owe or less. And a bunch of homes have short saled so they sold for wayyyyyyyyyy less than what we need.

We are driving so we can hit up a Wal Mart when we get there and pick some up.

OMG you guys I forgot to tell you about Ds4 in Target last night. He was running around the aisles (yes I am that parent and they are those kids) and he was literally singing "Putting things in the cart!" And kept putting Women's Depends in the cart while I looked over the travel size things (don't you just love travel size toiletries???) !! So embarrassing, but we eventually moved on without any depends. Then at home DH comes over to me with a box and a confused face and asks "diabetic foot cream?" Lol Darn kid!

Where is the best place to see MSEP and Wishes? I had been putting this question off and now we are too close to not ask!

Just had to change my signature - oldest DS is 16 today! :cheer2:

Not sure where the time has gone....luckily he's still really excited to go to Disney in just 12 days :woohoo::dance3::cool1::goodvibes

Happy Birthday to your son! That is the best that he is still excited about Disney!

WooHoo!!! We are bursting with excitement in this house!! 17 days to go!! When we first decided to extend this trip from a quick one in May to a long one in August, it felt sooooo far away, and now here we are!

I think we are all set. I need to pick up some ziploc bags, a few things from Amazon will be here this week and then we are all set!

Does anyone know, re: airline baggage, how and when do you pre-pay for your bags or do you do it at the airport? I've never actually had to pay for luggage since we always fly JetBlue, but AA was so much cheaper this year, even with the extra fees I went with them and am now realizing I don't know how this works.

JDD - Happy Birthday to DS!

We paid right at the desk where we checked the bags, where they are weight.

I have a question... I don't want to ask this on the main boards because I'm afraid I'll get flames. dd and ds will celebrate their 16th Birthday in October. Would it be out of line to "celebrate" that birthday at BOG? or even throughout our trip? We couldn't possibly go around their birthday because of school (they are high school juniors and our district has attendance requirements for high school credits.) Any thoughts??

Absolutely!! We are celebrating my son's birthday at O'Hana when we're there later this month, but his birthday is today. I've read posts about people celebrating months before and after their special day. Go for it!

Oh, that made me laugh out loud :rotfl2: This is so exactly what my boys would do when they were younger - they would just grab all kinds of things - although it was usually candy or anything with their favorite character on the front. We never ended up with foot cream :lmao:

Thanks! His brothers want to make him breakfast in bed, but we don't know what time is acceptable to wake him up ;) Probably will have to wait until 10:30 at least...

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but this seems like somewhat of a catch all. Has anyone had any threads they've been following disappear? I can't find a couple threads that were active yesterday. There's no trace of them at all, even in checking my own posts!

LOL! That is so funny. Did you return the cream or are you hanging on to it? :rotfl2:

You should absolutly celebrate it! DH and I are celebrating our anniversary while we are there. The CM I spoke with on the phone put it down for all 8 of my ADRs. I didn't ask him to, he just did and said we should celebrate everyday.

At the airport! Should land in Orlando at 1, hopefully be to CR by 2:00-2:30!!!'

And I've officially started collecting stuff to pack. I ordered earmuffs for the kids that will hopefully calm any loud and tense moments. I had to buy DD new bathing suits because she has grown out of her new beginning of summer ones. Got DS flip flops for the first time but underestimated how they would take some getting used to which made for an annoying trip to the pool yesterday. Some trip specific toiletries were purchased and an extra kid leash (oh the humanity!) so now we have one for each of them. Our magic bands are with this stuff now. We have an open house Sunday and then the suitcases are going into the guest room until we leave - sorry realtor!!!

I'd like to get swimmies for the kids but will probably have trouble finding them in the now infiltrated "back to school" north (sad face).

Actually- are swimmies even allowed in the pools? We are at POP.

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

From what I have read on the POP thread, swimmies are allowed. There are life jackets available at the pool also, though.

Can't multi-quote, but someone asked about celebrating a birthday 2 months early. MIL and I will both be celebrating our bdays at WDW, and ours were in July.

We will be there tomorrow. This time tomorrow we will be on the road and about 5 hours away. Ahhhh can't wait for 10 whole days of Disney!!

Ha! Now it's just sitting in my purse with the receipt in case I ever have a chance to return it!!

Ugh it's just sitting in my purse for the next Target trip and hopefully I'll remember to return it. $11.39 for that stuff!
