One month from right this moment, I will be at the Syracuse airport preparing for our flight . Does anyone else find that time seems to be racing by? (after dragging for so very long?)

Got the call today that our foundation waterproofing is being done tomorrow. Then the interior repairs to the basement bathrooom can be done, and the new driveway can FINALLY be poured. The countdown is on, so hopefully all that stuff comes together quickly so I can pare my focus down to our vacation.

Hard to believe we will be reading trip reports from the early August travellers in just a short while!! Is anyone planning on checking in to this thread from their resort while they're in Orlando?

It does seem like time is moving faster. It's like the last few minutes of a sporting event or the last few laps in a race. It's GO time! Time to finish buying things to take with you. Time to really start gathering clothes that you won't need in the next couple of weeks. Time to do laundry en masse, etc.

I don't know if I'll check in from the resort or not. Aside from using our phones to check wait times and such we try to stay offline while we're on vacation. We're not doing FP+ so we don't have that piece of it but other than taking pictures and checking times/maps our phones should be pretty dormant.

Yes! In December I wasn't too frequent, but I did check in. I hope to check in at nap times when I can...if I'm not napping!

I've got a question for you lovely folks - once upon a time you could add a celebration to resort and dining reservations as you made them online, but now you can't. I've heard if you call you can have a celebration added - is this true? And is it worth it or should I just wear the birthday button? Obviously either way nothing is guaranteed and I won't be going there expecting anything extra, but it'll be my 21st birthday so I'd like to do whatever I can to make it special, you know?

When I called they asked if we wanted to add a celebration and I told the Cm on the phone that it would be my son's birthday and she noted it on the reservation so I am sure you can call and add your birthday.

Yes, if you call them they can add the celebration to your resort reservation and the dining reservation line can add the celebration to each of your ADR's.

In good news I got my new Keen ballerina flats in the mail. They are a raspberry color and a bit more red then bright pink. I had hoped for the bright pink, but they are comfortable.

We got our ME booklet and luggage tags by UPS. Then the following week we got our Disney booklet with coupons by regular mail.

I ended up getting Skechers. They are mesh at the top, and have great arch support. I started breaking them in last night.

We have 23 days to go! the time is flying by now!

we have received our ME tags and Mickey mail, ordered PP+ which has shipped, and finished most of our shopping. My dd and I have made several shirts and dresses for my dgd's. We just need to finish some of the accents on the shirts and the matching bows. I have a basic touring plan for each day with rides, adrs and a list of the magic shots and snacks we want to try. But I feel like I am forgetting something...probably because it is getting so close.

We are 23 days out!!!

Since this is the first time we are going in mid Aug and not end of Aug/Sept, we purchased this book (along with the updated Hidden Mickey book) for my 11yr old and 4yr to do in line. We just received it yesterday and it is a really cool book. Highly recommend!

Can't pack yet as the kids are camping away the week before we go so we'll be washing their stuff and getting packed just the week before

Make sure you are getting mobile update from your airline on delayed or cancelled flights. Make sure you are prepared for multiple days of potential rain. Consider backup plans or ADRs in case outside events are cancelled (Fantasmic, etc.). Consider whether or not you can afford to add a hopper if a storm does effect a day or two...etc etc etc

Do not even look at that projection until it is two days out. Then the drill is to make sure your flights aren't affected and be prepared to change them if need be. I implore you all, after so many August/September trips there is NO WAY to know where one of those things is going to go until that 48 hour mark. There is just zero point in watching it until then.

And even at 48 hours things can change so quickly. Florida weather is super difficult to predict because of those quick changes. Last year when I went at the end of August, two days out the weather channels all predicted that Hurricane Isaac would be coming through and that the whole trip would be a wash-out. It only rained once, for about an hour, the entire week, despite rain being in the forecast every day. All you can really do is keep an eye on your flights and pack rain jackets or ponchos.
