I don't do a whole binder. But I do print out copies of all my confirmations (flights, hotel, adrs, shows) and I have a special plastic folder covered in Disney stickers that I've used since 2008. I also mke an excel spreadsheet and print that out and bring it with me. It's got all the same info on it. I put that in my backpack. This way I have everything in 2 places in case I lose it! That has to count for something LOL.

I am a binder girl...it helps me deal with my planning obsession...and keeps me busy so I don't change my mind about everything!! (Otherwise my resort changes and ADRs are changed on a regular basis!)

Busy end of year for me. Trying to get caught up on grading, etc. only 7 more days!! Then a week break before I teach summer school.

Which reminds me...need to tweak the Itinerary since I changed a dinner ADR from Raglan Road to Kona.

I think I'm following you from the Wishes Dessert Party thread to this one....just call me stalker!!! :scared:

NO, not a stalker, just someone with the same obsession I have!!! ;) So glad there are lots of us with this obsession. It makes living with it much easier!!! :goodvibes

Kinda quiet in here today ::yes:: . How about a QOTD?

Do you do a "travel binder" (or equivalent) for your trip? Something in which you file away printed copies of ADR's, flight confirmations, etc.? Or do you keep all the pertinent stuff on your smartphone? Or wing it completely?

I personally keep all the pertinent information in my smartphone.

Between the JetBlue app with the confirmation numbers there and the MDE app and the confirmation numbers there and my ICal and the touring plans app, I should have all my bases covered

No binder for me, however, I do put all my information into the NOtes section on my iPhone as a backup to MDE so I have my confirmation numbers, just in case. I have general plans for each day, but I have a toddler and a teenager so there is an element of having to go with the flow to meet everyone's needs!

And I should be working as this week has been nuts, but I needed a little happy for a minute between the tree that fell in our backyard last night, my non-napping toddler and work overload!

Nice to see someone else on the thread today, Gina!! :goodvibes :wave2:

lol, I was getting kinda lonely. :lmao:

Hey.....how did Josh make out with his most recent tests? Didn't he have something checked just in the last day or two? (I want to say a biopsy, but I know that's not it :headache:).

I sure do!!!! I think I'd lose my way if I didn't!!!

Victoriasmom98! I was just thinking about you the other day, that we hadn't seen you over on this thread for a while. Welcome back!

I make a spreadsheet! It's color coded and all geeked out, but it works for me. Once I even laminated it and put magnet tape on the back to stick it to the door in our room. I had gone over it so many times that I don't think I ever referred to it once on our trip, haha. I keep all pertinent plane info in my purse or my carry on.

So, I'm totally procrastinating because I have a paper due tomorrow and 2 finals to study for on Saturday. ;)
And I'm just thinking about the justifications I feel the need to make to people when I tell them we are going to Disney World. I'm a single mom and sometimes money issues are tough, so I guess it can seem like I'm being irresponsible.

On the other hand I work hard all year, we don't do anything extravagant, (the majority of the time) and DW is one of the few vacations I can make PAYMENTS on. Very important for those of us who want to go somewhere with kids and don't have thousands sitting around waiting to be spent. The fact that I go at the end of August and always get free dining makes me feel like I'm getting a good deal. Not to mention the fact that I like doing things like this for my only child. My childhood was pretty tough, and fun times were very few and far between. It feels great that I can do this for my kid.

Sigh. I don't like feeling like I have to justify anything to anyone else anyway, since this is my life and my family decisions are up to me. But sometimes the notion of it gets to me... Like today, when I have a lot of pressure to finish school work and have had too much coffee! :scared1: :rotfl:

I feel like I am doing this more and more lately and it sickens me. You are right, it is our lives and they have no idea what our lives are like and the reasons behind these Disney vacations.....I feel for you! You are not alone.

Soooo excited!!! Going Aug 11-16, back to CSR... It will be myself, DH, My parents, my 2 brothers, a girlfriend to one of the brothers, and my sister-14. She is the only child in the group. This my husband and I's 3rd time staying on property and our second time on the DDP. None of the rest of my family have ever stayed on property before so all of that is a first for them. My family has not been to Disney since the 90s. (My husband and I were there last in June 2012). One of my brothers and the girlfriend have never been to disney before. Best part of the plan we will be celebrating my birthday on the 13th at Disney!!! (Yes, i promised DH we would go at his birthday next time.) And, yes all the pressure to plan this trip for 8 people fell on my shoulders. I am so hoping everybody has a great time. But, I keep telling myself its Disney; how can it not be freakin' awesome!!!!

I keep all of my info in the Memo section of my phone, but I do a lot of planning in e-mails to my family who is coming along, and I have a spreadsheet for back up, which is a good thing because yesterday my 11 month old decided to stick my phone into a cup of lemonade. I'm happy to be getting a new phone, but I was really not wanting to drop that kind of coin right now, and being without a phone for a week is going to drive me mad!

It WAS a biopsy--you're GOOD that you can remember that!! We are still waiting for results. Good news is that he is up and moving around and he did not have any bleeding afterwards--so we are very thankful about that. Thanks for asking!! :goodvibes

Well, if it helps, know I am sending some positive vibes and healing thoughts his way :goodvibes . Keep us posted!!

Thanks! It's nice to know I'm not the only person who feels this way. :goodvibes

Best of luck to you and Josh for good news!

We have the same struggles. I think many of us do! We went to Orlando three times in 2012......my inlaws almost passed out. But you know what? The rational part of my brain knows that we don't owe anyone any kind of an explanation. We are responsible adults, we make our own decisions, and we can spend our hard-earned money any way we want. I find most people who feel you should justify your travel decisions to them are envious beyond belief. That realization helps a ton!

I would feel guilty if we couldn't afford our holidays (they are always paid in full long before we even travel), if we weren't saving for DS's college costs, or if Orlando trips means not contributing to our retirement funds. But all those bases are covered. And we each work an extra job or two (over and above our "regular" jobs) to help make our southern getaways possible a little more often.

The same people who think we travel too much also regularly tell me that we have done our son a grave disservice by not providing him with a sibling :sad2: . It appears that some folks will find just about anything to nitpick at :rolleyes2 .

Our kids are only young once. Take your trips and be proud to affirm that YES, these are experiences that our children will remember fondly for the rest of their lives. There's no better explanation than that.

::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::

When someone wants to pay for my vacations, they get a say. Until then, it is absolutely NONE of their business TYVM. My life and finances are handled... nobody needs to give their unsolicited opinion. They do anyway, but they get shut down quickly. I don't owe an explanation. And on the flipside, I try to remember I can't control what other people think and as long as I am feeling good about our decisions I really can't be worrying about what other people think.:)

OH, I've been lurking and reading --- have no fear! It's nice that you remembered me. :goodvibes Do you ever get the feeling that you have nothing important to say or anything that anyone would want to hear? Yeah, that's where I've been with this thread. Oh Lord, that sounded pathetic, didn't it? Anyways, I am here......I have been updating my own PTR but that's been about it. :confused3

I use one of those plastic accordion coupon file things. I have ADR in one section, airline confirmation, resort confirmation, ME booklet, etc. It keeps everything organized, but it's little and cute.:)
